Welcome @skinnyrev2b ! Lots of great advice here, and encouragement too . Keep up the great work! You'll be at a mile before you know it, and what a great feeling that will be!!1

8km last night. Did some penance laps for eating at a restaurant 2 nights in a row
I've eaten at more restaurants on this China trip than the last 4 years combined.3 -

My pool is still closed for maintenance. I'm going to try to get to my alternative pool today. I don't think their lap availability is as good, but I need to get into the water. @beerfoamy I know what you mean about getting antsy!!2

1200m today - you guys put me to shame... - but I'm getting there. Big jump from 900 though so had to switch to breaststroke on occasion.2

6.4km last night.
Passed between two people doing breast stroke. Got kicked in the stomach and the back at the same time. Not hard. But it was the first double kick.1 -

sticking to bare minimum! I wanna feel better by Sunday cos I have found a pool with 4 hrs swim time - may try and rival @fishgutzy 's distances!1 -
Cycling to and from Aquafit, then scuba diving later... it's mainly been/will be in water, so does that count on this thread?! 😉
(Edited spelling just in case there are any spelling police lurking 😂)2 -
Pack your bag. It's been one of my two mantras for the past 4 years. Just pack the bag and put it in your car. Once it's there, drive to the pool. Even if you don't want to. Why? It's what I do. Mantra #2. 95% of the time, it works. Yesterday was one of those glorious days when I got to get the full benefit of not skipping out. I had no reason not to go, mind you. It's not my regular pool, but it's the pool I swam in for most of winter. I arrived to a near empty pool, had the lane to myself. My "just go and swim for 30 min" turned into a great mile and a half. Not super fast, but enough to get my heart up and working steadily. A leisurely soak in the hot tub afterward was a nice treat. And this morning, I was sleeping so hard, it took about 30 seconds before I heard my alarm...
Pack your bag. Why? It's what I do (I wish I didn't need to have these talks with myself after four years, but it's still working.)3 -

Set another personal record today.
16.06km, 10 miles.
I set that as a long term target a couple years ago.
The 4 Saturday swims have been, 11km,13.2km,11km, 16.06km.
This weekend and last I finally changed my approach to fueling and started thinking like an athlete after advice from the Fitness section.1 -
Getting better at maintaining pace too.

Wow, gutzy. Just WOW. I'm in awe. I get excited if I manage two miles. This is exceptional!2

It helps to have just a touch of OCD.
And being in China, I don't have to cut short on Saturday to do yard work or another project at the house.1 -

Such consistent times, gutzy. I'm impressed at how your pacing is so steady. My daughter runs like that. I love running with her because up or down, she maintains pace. She said it came after good coaching, and years of just staying in touch with what works.2
