1800m today. Watch insists I swam 3420m. Stupid watch.

Are you stopping in the middle?
Are the push offs consistent? Or are they too short or too close to your stroke length?

No stopping (pool is 2.45m deep!), but my push offs aren’t that strong as previously (when I last swam 10years ago) I’d lose my goggles if I pushed off to hard. I’ll try that and see if it works. However, I did get a 120m reading on my first 60m length before the turn...

    Suggestion based on my experience.
I use Aquasphere Kaiman goggles. These sit on the edge of the orbital bone. That was they don't feel like they are pressing the eye when properly snug.
I also put my cap on over my goggles.
This prevent google flip on hard push off.
Link for Goggles. They also have a certain for women.

Yes. Got my afternoon swim in. I arrived in time to hopefully get 2250y in. That's kind of my baseline swim. I got one lap short of it before they moved the lane lines, so I hopped over and got the last lap in. Kind of silly, really, but I have this mental thing about finishing. Went to the Monday night water cardio class because the instructor is SO GOOD. We just didn't stop moving. I don't have a lot of juice on Mondays for his class if I swim before, but it's a great challenge and I always sleep really well.

Yesterday I received coaching from my local HS swim coach, confirming some awful catch technique. Yay.
Today, I swam 40 minutes repeating catch drills in slow motion and normal speed, imprinting (muscle? Brain? Whatever!). This is how we make 25 yards interesting, contrary to what swimming detractors think. (I was such a non-swimmer before)

Also: enough fly drills to keep it interesting.

Today's cough was brought to me by an upper respiratory virus from I don't know where.

The dreaded New Year Resolution Swimmers are out in herds. pods.
Missed Adult swim club last night as I was 200km away on a day trip ( 400km round trip ) for work. Today went to the evening lane swim 6 - 730pm. 2 Lanes 14 people was not good. Got 20 lengths in and left in frustration. May have muttered under my breath. The worst part is half of these people I have seen for 3-4 years show up for 2-3 weeks and then disappear.
Adult Swim club tomorrow night so looking forward to that as there will be 10-12 people over 3 lanes.

Yes! I go to the pool everyday during the week by 6am. On the weekends I also try to swim or water jog. I just love it!

Adult swim club - 5 people 3 lanes :) 2050m plus constructive feedback

    25 kick free streamline
    50m free sprint
    100m free sprint/easy alt 25s ; 20 sri
    25 kick whip
    50m breast sprint
    100m breast sprint/easy alt 25s

2 x ; with 20 sri on 1st, 15 sri on 2nd. Nothing like reducing rest interval as you progress
    100m free
    50m free 3 stroke breathing
    50m free 5 stroke breathing
    50m free 7 st
    50m free 5 st
    50m free 3 st

    4x
    25m kick
    50m free 5 stroke breathing

    4 x 100m alt sprint/fast on 25s

    200m easy cool down choice.

Ironically with so few people you relax a bit and I had more collisions-contacts than when we are 4 to a lane. My buddy Steve was splitting a lane with me and we managed to hook arms 3 times, once was more like a hand to hand Karate chop. The lady beside my lane gave me a good kick on the one and only breast stroke sequence and during the 200 easy cool down we may have both had a Tush Push accidental contact on back stroke. Good thing I know all of them as it's just humorous to us.
Coach said he was going to add 100m every week, some weeks 200m.
Which is how you build endurance - as @fishgutzy would say " just add one more length every time you are swimming"

No lanes despite website saying there would be and lifeguards saying there would be.
Much much busier than previous weeks and noone with any awareness of the fact that I was clearly going up and down the wall repeatedly. They just swam at me!!
    Argh
Not relaxing but I earned my surf and turf later
