I've been sick and not eating much in the way of desserts - but I am going to Rome in a few days for work - so I really hope to be fully recovered and ready to eat all the gelato by then! Or at least for the 24 hours of free time I have in Rome before I am sequestered away at the Marriott....

I am peanutbutter and jealous! (Not of the illness, but the travel to Rome) Safe travels and an enjoyable trip!

I'm not. I'm worse today. Next neck is killing me today. If it isn't any better when I wake up I will go get that documented and maybe get some muscle relaxers. I need to recover fully by Monday for work.

Ugh. I hope you feel better soon! xx

Finally made it to Fresh Market, but no dark chocolate gelato fiasco. Boo. Contemplated the smores flavor, but the calories aren't as kind. And Jeni's was on sale, so I went with that. I'm super excited to try them all.

Ooo might have to get that Goat Cheese flavor shipped to my house.

I found that one at My Organic Market, if you have one of those near you. I bought it during my initial search for the sweet potato and torched marshmallow. It was good, but I had to get used to the goat cheese being in my ice cream.

^^ Jealous. I really want to try the cookie cores.

I'm all out of ice cream until I do my weekly shopping tomorrow.

Instead, I'm having 3 Musketeer's Strawberry with Dark Chocolate minis.

Are those good? A lot of the new candy flavors recently don't taste much different than the originals. Candy Apple M&Ms yes I'm talking about you!

    Birthday cake m&m's too.

MrM, that sounds horrible, and terrible timing! Hopefully you're better by Monday.

I would have jumped on the Goat Cheese had I seen it at Fresh Market. Will have to go back. Also I will be curious about your opinion on the brambleberry crisp!

Ok, just finished my serving of brambleberry crisp, and IT'S AMAZING!!! It has a nice vanilla bean base with generous swirls of the berrys. My guess is that the berries were macerated as there's a nice syrup with some small bits of berry. Then mixed throughout the base are chunks of the crisp. And those bits had great flavors, not crispy, but the texture really held up well.

Really, really good. I'm understanding the love of this brand.

Yes I think so! There's a distinct strawberry flavor.

IMO m&m's are total fail on their "flavors". They all taste exactly the same. :|

I'm sure this had to have been reviewed at one point, but I don't recall whether people liked it or not. I think I'm on the fence. The chocolate isn't rich enough, I do like the heat of the chili, and as much as I love cinnamon ice cream the Steve's cinnamon flavor is kind of prominent (just finished a different Steve's flavor with cinnamon). I also don't know what the mix ins are, cookie pieces? It just tastes like it needs something, caramel maybe, or some salt? It was much better when I added a glass of Malbec to go with it...

Aww, that sucks. And, from further posts after your above one, sounds like you have a lot going on to boot. Get well soon, and don't expend any energy on setting ForecasterJason on a better path! Oh - and enjoy some gelato since you're laid up anyway.

Awesome! I continue to be amazed by the oat clusters in the Brambleberry Crisp. They really are the reason I'll get another pint for sure, (I think Acrylics felt the mixins were the strength, too; though I love berries and *that* flavor too is great in this one).

@Kruggeri - the image tags prevent me from quoting your post -- but that combo of ice cream and wine is a huge, *huge*, winner in my view! And a good ratio of wine to ice cream ;) Did you find Steve's to be incredibly hard as an ice cream out of the freezer?

That ice cream looks to die for!
Edit: but it does sound like it didn't quite live up to its description?? Boo.

I went grocery shopping today and came home with birthday cake Oreos in ice cream sandwich and cookie form. I tried one of each for testing purposes and I'm not sure which form is better...I'm leaning towards the cookie.

It was good but I think I'm so spoiled by salty sweet combinations that I needed either caramel (like a caramel sauce over it) or just a bit of salt in it.

@cortelli yes, hard as a freaking rock coming out of the freezer! I thought it was just my freezer!

Ooh a new Talenti! I was just thinking the other day they should make a new cookie flavor.

So now I need to be on the lookout for Raspberry Cheesecake & this one, the two other Ben & Jerry's cookie flavors I haven't tried yet, & buy the Party Cake Turkey Hill flavor.

Eventually I'll order the Goat Cheese & Brambleberry Crisp flavors too.

I had some of B&J Cinnamon Bun last night. It was good, but the cinnamon swirl part was the best thing about it. I didn't really feel like the base had a ton of flavor (maybe the swirl flavor overwhelmed it), and the cinnamon roll dough pieces were grainy.

I'm rarely impressed with B&J's bases. Usually the mix-ins are the stars. I was pleasantly surprised by the base for the cookie core flavors, although it didn't taste like caramel to me it did have more flavor than the standard vanilla.

I checked 4 stores in the last couple days for the two Talenti and the new B&J... no luck. One was Target too...

I loved the Mexican Chili Chocolate. I'll take your leftovers! I thought the crunchy pieces were chocolate, I never did figure it out. Lucerne did a pretty good job with their Mexican Chocolate, despite the lack of mix-ins.
