I didn't know what to use as a cue for my walking. But I read in Levine's book "Get Up!" that you need to take at least 10 min walk after a meal. Why?
Answer: Without walk insulin shoots up trough the roof, and the food is transformed and stored as fat. With 10 min walk those spikes become gentle hills. Prevents fat storage, and you don't get hunger feelings so fast.0 -

Yes!! Excellent advice! I have actually started doing this just this week. It is supposed to be among the most important ways to manage blood sugar. So glad you posted this, Alex!0 -

@ 185dengbiqi, welcome to the August walk challenge! Walking at home while it is rainy or really hot outside sure makes a LS w/o a win-win these Summer months.
@ alex thank you for the information from the "Get Up!" book, and @ Healthymom_5 for sharing your personal experience of having already started this, which is great confirmation about why walking after a meal for10 minutes is very beneficial!

Good morning! I got to sleep in and enjoyed another 6 miles at the park today.

It's interesting to me that after I set a monthly walking goal in July, I had great difficulty getting out to walk! I was having a bad attitude about tracking my miles, but as of today, I've found a lovely way to track that I like! I've had a bumpy last two weeks and I want to walk more miles and be more consistent, too. My motto is KEEP GOING, so I'm back here on the forum!
I'm so excited that I've finally found a Leslie DVD that I LOVE! It's the Walk Down Your Blood Sugar DVD and I couldn't believe it yesterday when the mile was done, it was SO fast. So I walked TWO! That's a really big deal for me!
And I enjoyed yesterday so much that I did it again today!
AUGUST GOAL: I really want to set my goal at walking 5 out of 7 days (Monday starts a new week)
