TOM today. My lower tummy hurts. in fact, I hurt all over  Zero energy. A/c unit quit working in the house. Zero motivation to workout. I am determined to get in 2 days this week. I WILL!

Sam, I didn't dare step on the scale this weekend. Saturdays are my weigh in day but I knew TOM was near.

Lines at the parks stink. I like Disney because of the fastpass.

After a 4.5 week hiatus. I FINALLY started stage 2 today! Boy, that was a real *****.

After briefly breezing through the previous posts (too much to catch up on!) I've decided

    1) I LOVE GLASSES! I think they are the best thing ever! Everyone looks way better (except me, of course, which is why i never wear mine).

2). Amusement parks are the ****. both the walking and the standing in line (because that means ridesssss)

3). sometimes i drink 200 oz of water a day, sometimes I drink 20. That water drinking stuff is tricky business....

    4). Hiking is incredible.

5). TOM sucks. a lot. I have an IUD so I don't actually experience it, but i get all the symptoms and it blows.

6). 800 calorie salads are my jam. avocados, craisins, hard boiled eggs and chicken add that up way faster than my measly 2 TBs of dressing. but they are bomb.

COmpletely unrelated. I'm glad to be back, and while I was in Australia, I got engaged (yay!) so now i've got some extra EXTRA motivation to drop these last 25 pounds, because in 355 days I'm getting MARRIED.

So thanks all, for keepin my motivated and I will be back on the regular. Happy lifting!

Did the last Stage 7 workout today. Love it, deadlifts, db squats raised heel, stepups OHP and inverted pulldowns. DLs at 125 which is a PR for me and I rocked the step ups. Not perfect, but so much better and my thigh is parallel to the floor now. Hard to get that first push without the rear leg helping but getting better. OHP still sucks.

I'm beat, and it's time for bed. Hope I have more time tomorrow to be chatty. G'nite all

Samantha - sure, calling me jewels is great :-) Thanks for the input. You and few others have said it's ok to add cardio, so I am going for it!! Wow - you had amazing results from NROL4W. That is exciting!!

well it was certainly HUMID that day!..just as we got back in the car..plop plop plop massive rain drops...too by ad about the allergies..I climbed to the summit of a big hill and it was magnificent.

I am sitting here in my smallest ever shorts..bought them last summer and wore them a few times..the shifting bum has made them too small until now...so I guess other places are getting trimmer as the bum gets rounder? Either way they're a size 10 from Old Navy..bit tight in the middle but I think with wearing they'll loosen up.

So..wedding is on Saturday...outside and likely hot..what sort of sage advice would you give for someone who doesn't want to look all puffy and swollen on Saturday?

Sue - all of your work looks VERY impressive! I hope you stop to "pat yourself on the back' - YOU DESERVE IT! also, TAKE PICTURES! (front/side/back). You don't have to look at 'em, you certainly (never) don't have to post 'em, just take them!

breezedaze - it's never a bad day when smaller clothes are fitting (better? well??)!! My advice for Saturday would be to make thursday your last lifting day (skip Friday and Saturday) and drink water like CRAZY all Thursday, Friday and Saturday to keep flushing out every last bit.

today I get to lift. today I get to lift with glasses on - booooooooooo. But, more importantly, today I get to lift!

I had a good lifting session today. And, I'm doing a good job on calorie-control.

I've decided to lose 3 lbs in July, 3 lbs in August and 3 lbs in September. Since much of August and September I will NOT be "lifting", this should be VERY DO-ABLE.

At end of September, I will have been doing Venus Index for 1 YEAR, which is exactly enough time to head into MAINTENANCE (with a bit of a cushion).

Haven't been lifting last week as no gym on the island so I'll just drink water like a fiend and eat moderately and hope for the best :)

When I come back from vacation, well..it'll be September before I can start but I'm going to start New Rules from start to finish...then take a break and go immediately into Venus just to see how things go...I like to learn new things...but that's the plan for now...

Sounds like a solid plan. I have 1.5 weeks of life left. What to do next. I really should 4W all the way through again. With half of stage 1. Whatcha' think?

And so completes day 2 of amusement park fun. Today was the water park. We did 4 solid hours before the close of the day. didn't wait more than 15 minutes for anything and had a freaking ball. They don't make you wait in line on the stairs, not for long anyway. THey have to keep the line short for the people who pay to cut the line AKA Flashpass. So when they tell you to go, you have to walk the entire set of stairs in one shot. Tiring!!

I did get in my lifting today, but only 2 sets per rotation and no metabolic. I figured the walking and stairs would be enough today. I was short on time and got my workout done in 45 min flat. My squat push press still SUCKS!!

If you're looking for me tomorrow, I will spending the rainy day we are suppose to have on my couch where my *kitten* wil be implanted for the duration because I am freaking tired. I may tidy up or hit a zumba class. We shall see.

Beeps, do you need to loose 9 pounds? You look great. I fear that if you lose scale weight it will be more muscle than anything else, or is this part of the venus experience? Like a fit comp. cut cycle?

I'm up early - I have a gyn appt. at 8:15 and my docs are all in the city so I have to catch an early train. Doubtful I will lift at all today, since I know I'm going to be slammed at work - 1 brief due to file today and in to print by noon, the gigantic appendix has to be ready to proof by the other side by late this afternoon, and the 3rd needs an index ready by late this afternoon. Yea busy busy. but I will get a few miles of good walking in, since the doc is uptown from my office and I only walk in Manhattan - I promised myself that's what I would do when I started my new lifestyle 18 months ago.

Beeps, I am going to do a 2nd round of Stage 7. You're right though, lots of work and lots of real gains! I still see all the body fat and jiggles but I also see a rounder behind and muscled legs and an upper body that is beginning to shape up nicely, especially my back shoulders and arms! I have to keep reminding myself that I didn't get bulbous overnight - that it was 10 years of doing little or nothing that created all this extra weight and body fat. I will take pictures. I have some really ugly ones from the day I started and I will do side by side so I see the difference!

Sam that FSPP is so hard for me. First of all I really struggle to make any small progress on OHP, so my gains on that move are minimal and since I can squat 100 easily, it's very frustrating to me. And I don't clean well. I think I need a whole day of work with my trainer on that alone.

Beeps your 3#/month does sound very doable and I think I will make that my goal for these next 3 months as well. I started my cut out strong but lately have been very lax. Time to batten down the hatches and get moving forward. What I hope to see move are the love handles on my hips and some of the tummy fat I have so I can see the core work progress - yes I know you can't selectively lose, but that's where I usually lose first so it's not unrealistic and comes from 40 years of dieting experience. Course, since menopause, my body does nothing like it used to so we'll see what actually happens!

Breeze, you aren't going to look bloated, you are going to look beautiful, and cool and confident with your cute round butt! Have a fun day!

Rain? Today? Sam, I didn't know that, thanks for saying so because I would have walked out without my umbrella!

    Ok, off to the train.

Sue I've had a small bit of drizzle this morning. The big rain won't start until your commute home. tomorrow will be a complete wash out.

samntha - why go back to Stage 1? Just keep plugging through (I think it's okay to start, stop, and just pick up where you left off.) I don't have 9 lbs to lose (scale weight is a "range" for Venus!), except that my measurements are NOT (yet!) at Venus! So, in order to drop my natural waist, my belly-button waist and my hips another 1", it's going to mean further fat reduction. 6 lbs is probably enough reduction, the final 3 lbs below that (to total 9 lbs more lost) is just to give me a 3 lb "cushion" to work through maintenance with.

Ok thanks for explaining. I wouldn't mind losing 5% BF myself. to answer you question, I like stage 1 lol.

Ok, so I hurt the deltoids of my right shoulder. I increased weigh from a 15lb db to a 20 lb db on the one arm snatch. I also increased on the squat push press from a measly 45 lb to 50lb and hurt my shoulder. :( I really hate shoulder exercises.

I'm nursing a shoulder injury, myself, right now, and it's not too fun. Having said that, I've just *dropped* from my work-out menu shoulder-specific type work (i.e. no shoulder presses! No curls + presses!), but I have KEPT the exercises which are "partial" shoulder (i.e. push-ups for example, planks for example). My shoulders still look buff - so there's that to consider.

I'm actually not sure if I have a shoulder-injury or a rotator-cuff injury....and, I'm about coming up on a 5-week (forced) break from lifting, so there will be a HUGE rest period ahead when the stupid injury can FULLY heal, I figure!

Ladies, got my lifting in today...yay!!

Beeps - I hope your shoulder heals and you get to lose the 3#s you want to lose (though your body looks amazing). Good luck on surgery too.

Breeze - an island vaca sounds wonderfull...

Sue - good job on finishing stage 7!!

Samantha - ouch your shoulder injury sounds painful...I hope that one heals too

Bonnie - welcome! I am in stage 1 and just completed A3, so not too far ahead of you. Good luck!!

Good advice Beeps. I think I'm taking snatches off the menu. I already got rid of burpees from when I injured my wrist. Taking another rest day today. I have three workouts left and a rest week. I'm tired. I feel like I'm still working full time.

Bonnieg - I think we are all recovering "cardio-bunnies". Lucky you to come to *lifting* - you'll be SO HAPPY YOU DID!

lambentjewel - I get to lift, today....so glad to read yours is in-and-done!

samntha - I *am* still working full time, lol.

Today, I lift! I think I'll move back to "Level 2's" of the circuits I'm doing....I did 2 weeks of "Level 2's", 3 weeks of "Level 1's" and it's probably time to change it up a bit. (I won't do "Level 3's" because it simply has too many exercises in it, per work-out.)

Last lifting day (for now) with glasses on! Tomorrow, back to eye surgeon, eyeball measured, and then I think I can wear contacts until about a week before surgery at the end of August.

stage two is totally killing me. holy smokes. it's intense!!

I almost did stage one again, because stage two didn't do squats. turns out. you don't need squats for you butt to be SO SORE.

    awesome.

Wow spinning about killed me this morning! it was humid and the air was ineffective, even the leader was saying she didn't think she'd be able to finish. I felt sick to my stomach that's how over heated I was. But I'm recovered now, thank goodness.

I lift tomorrow then off until Monday.

Chuckles, Stage 2 was really tough for me too. I joined a gym and worked with a trainer throught that whole stage!

Breeze, an island vaca sounds so wonderful!

Beeps and Sam, please be careful! shoulder injuries are tough to heal!!

Jewel, good for you for getting your lifting done.

Bonnie, I was an exercise-a-phobe, I wasn't doing a blessed thing for about 10 years, cuz I HATE cardio. Lifting and spinning are the only things I have been consistent with (spinning only recently). Welcome!!

Mary, you are MIA girl!! Miss you, come back!

chuckles - squats never worked my glutes, anyway....I'm simply too quad-dominant and my bio-mechanics aren't favourable for heavy, heavy squats. Now, deadlifts?? THEY work MY glutes!

suelegal - hmmmmmmm, interesting - I had you pegged for a "cardio-junkie". I learned something today!

Got my lifting in-and-done....was a good session. A tad long, but that was just from equipment set-up and take-down, so I'll deal with it. My boss is on holidays for 3 weeks. YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!

Yes, it means I'm "busier", but without him next door, I just feel more "at ease". Nice!

Just did stage 1 A1 workout last night, the things I learned:
    1) my form needs work on everything but squats. Why not squats you ask well I power lifted for 3 months with some of my family who are world champion power lifters and they made me squat properly and I haven't forgotten how!

    2) I sweat like a maniac lifting.

    3) I LIKE lifting!! It felt so good I can't wait until tomorrow!!

Just so I get this right I lift every other day???

Suelegal, Beeps2011, lambentjewel thanks for the encouragement!!! I really appreciate it.

Bonnie - yep, let your body heal today, and you can get back to lifting tomorrow. Congrats on getting 'squat form" right - that was my HARDEST lift, for the LONGEST time I could not get parallel.

manic - hope you made it to the gym - I did!

tonight I am going to see my son's band....in other words, I will be deaf by midnight. Good lawd.

Beeps2011 thank you for replying!! It took me along time with my cousins to get the proper squat technique!

Bonnie! Yay for starting! You're going to love it!

Workout A2 of stage 2 today. My inner thighs are still hating me. so is my butt. and my triceps. but hopefully a little warm up and stretch will take care of that.

So, I didn't finish B1 with the HIIT. Instead i did it yesterday. I was so exhausted after lifting I wanted to call Alywn Cosgrove from the gym and yell at him for adding the HIIT after the workout! I think next time I have to suck it up and do it on the same day because I don't feel as well rested as i should. My legs are pretty sore.

I've been trying to catch up on everything, but there's too much! I miss you ladies when I don't have time to chat.
    Welcome Bonnie!
    Sue, you're almost DONE! Congrats!
    Beeps, take some earplugs!
Mary, hope you made it to the gym.
Sam, be careful. Shoulder injuries can be tricky.

I haven't lifted since last Monday. Been a really, really crazy week(been in the studio recording vocals for a new project with my family). I've eaten crap and lots of it. Back on the eating better train today. Hopefully back on the lifting train tomorrow morning.
