glad to have you on board Tom, and I'm also happy that my explaination helped a little.

Don't worry about the climbing - there's NO WAY we'll get the same nett climbing as the actual tour, and it's reasonably flat around here as well... I'm definitely more of a "rouleur" than a "grimpeur". And anyway - i'd look a complete dork in the "KOM" jersey anyway...

I'd look like the Hindenburg with Acne!

hope you don't mind but i've changed the dossard ever so slightly ;-)

I was actually going to ask if you'd want a dragon version... I only put the union flag on mine because the white field of St. George gets lost in the background. Frankly, given my choice, I'd have the White Rose rather than a flag anyway...

I'll try 304 unless someone has already taken it - since we might have more than 9 riders, would we double up on the numbers or just keep adding numbers? Just curious.

    Thanks!

By the way, I will be off-line beginning some time on 30 june until about 8-9 of July. I will be riding (and assuming the electronics are working) for 6 of those days on a short bicycle tour (Riding on 1,2, 3 July and 5, 6, 7 July). I can/will post the data when we are back at home but I am not taking a laptop on this trip. Is that going to mess up the process for the event?

    Thx

Welcome Aboard Al - Dossard #304 is reserved for you. No problems with the logging, just declare it when you're back with a computer and enjoy the tour. I'll keep the data on a spreadsheet, and publish the "GC" etc when everyone on the team has either declared a mileage or "nul" for a given day if they've not ridden. So - it may take a while to get things "out there" and have the Stuffed Lions sent out but i'll get there eventually

As far as what happens if more than 9 people sign up - well - I guess we'll have to fill a second team (311 to 319). I have to confess after the almost total apathy that this idea was met with when I mooted it for the Giro D'Italia in may, it never actually crossed my mind that we'd have too many riders to fill a team.:embarassed:

Right then folks - looks like there's going to have to be another team started if we get any more takers...

Oh - and I think we can "waive" rule 75** just for now, if it means we get some more signups...

    **
    Rule #75
// Race numbers are for races.

Remove it from your frame before the next training ride because no matter how cool you think it looks, it does not look cool. Unless you are in a race. In which case it looks cool.

    Cool! Thanks TheBigYin!

In case anyone is curious as to why I shaved off my very long hair, a bit of the story is here: https://player.vimeo.com/video/44453110 My triathlon is tomorrow.

I should be able to ride on all the appropriate days, although I am officiating one weekend in there and will have to just get on the bike and so something really short. 12-14 hours of officiating bike races in the Deep South heat in July is not for the faint of heart!

My sympathies, TheBigYin. *HUG* We lost dad 4 years 1 month and 4 days ago.

My goal tomorrow is to finish, preferably without needed medical attention.

Count me in. Should be able to do about 32km a day, but not every day. May try and make up some lost miles at weekend though.

Really like the team number you have generated. Would like the White Rose of Yorkshire on mine, but understand if that is only for the first team or something.

And I KNEW one or more of you flaming cosmopolitan, world travelling types would be on one continent and come from another...
    7414583498_409f65e7e5.jpg Dossard_308

@katozdad - As I've done a variation for 301 with the principalities flag rather than the union one, I may actually be tempted to swap to a White Rose flag myself to be honest - maybe the White rose at LHS and St. George at the RHS ?? - Can't do anything until you pick a number though... Please do what the rest of the people did earlier in the thread - quote a post with the most up to date list of riders and numbers, and add your own name in whatever position you fancy - there's no pressure, seeing as snow has picked the hot-seat of team leader (but if you go for road-captain (#319), you'll have to spend all 3 weeks shouting at people to ride faster/harder )

No worries - always helps to have a double-hard aussie on the team... I'm thinking Phil (skippy) Anderson here - one of my hero's from BITD, always remember him and Sean Yates in the early 90's riding for Motorola and out at the front, taking turns hurting the entire peleton

Have never been able to take the easy route. Would appreciate White Rose on Left and St. George on the right like you suggest Big Yin. Many thanks, Kato
