On a positive note, to the best of my knowledge, nobody has been thrown off OUR challenge for previous "dopage" or unsavoury use of diuretics

I'm glad no one is watching the drugs I've been taking the past week... I'm pretty sure I couldn't get a therapeutic use exemption for that much steroids, sudafed and hydrocodone...

Also my thanks to TBY for doing this - it has been fun and forced me to overcome my general reluctance to upload the Garmin data - sort of beginning to feel natural!

And I still haven't biked today. I saw the doc. The good news is my lungs appear clear except in the bronchial tubes. The bad news is I'm still exhausted which could just be from the antibiotics. Who knows? However, as it reached 105 today, I did not even try to go out there. I might try after dark, but don't count on it. :o(

    Tomorrow's forecast is 108f. Sheesh.

Thanks for the updates Mark (TBY) and forcing me to learn a tad about kilometers, not gonna lie I really really hate them. Glad no one got busted on our teams too! ha ha ha.

Hope my meager kilometers were of some use this month. Gonna save up some for August. Happy Touring!!!

    :) TT

Well - I left it until gone 6pm today waiting for the rain to stop. It didn't. I rode anyway. Another 50km or so for the list. I must be as strange as a hairy egg!

Are we there yet? My race tomorrow is only a 25 minute criterium and I'll probably get pulled for being too slow... so someone will have to take up the slack on Team 1!

Well - depends how we measure it - if we take total KM's then team #2 are at 118.9% of overall distance, and team #1 are at 163.3% - so, yeah, overall we've smashed it! (and that's with quite a few blanks in there at the moment )

If we go back to individual stages, well - it's a bit of a curate's egg... Good in parts  Up to the second rest day, team #2 have hit 10 out of 16 of the stage distances, team #1 hitting 15 of the 16.

Think It'll be a while before we get "all the returns" for mileage in - but one happy posting from Hawkeyegal199 has pretty much bailed out team#1 as far as the day-by-day mileages. Apart from stage 12 (13/7/2012) team #1 have hit/exceeded the stage mileage. I'm currently digging out climbing stat's for the daily stages, to see how our climbing compares (I'm guessing less than favourably!)

No ride for me today; had to travel back from Columbus Ohio. Had a wedding family thing out there. So, I guess I'm done for the tour. It's been a fun ride with all of you.

Glad you've enjoyed the ride... and well done on completing the challenge Tom - 726.64kms and 1520m of ascent at 19.11kph is a cracking set of numbers.

While we're on the subject of numbers - we've only had submissions up to the final day for 19 from the 19 riders. Can I please pester everyone to get your figures in as soon as possible please, I'd really like to get the number crunching done and the jersey's awarded.

All of my rides are in I think. I did miss a week due to life and work. :grumble:

Yep, I've got a "finished" tag on your no. - and congratulations BTW - 650.95km/3055m despite a blank week is no mean feat!

How we doing? Are we any nearer completion 'yin?

Are you going to have a 'cut off date' to allow you to finish this?

Voiture Balai comes around the course to remove peoples Dossards and take 'em to the showers at 23:59 UK local time (BST - GMT + summertime DST added) on the 24th July. That gives everyone just under 25 hours from the date of this post, or they'll be given a "Rabobank" - DNF

Incidentally - anyone else reset their GPS display back to Statute Miles instead of Km's and spent the entire ride wondering why the average speed looked so LOW

Last call everyone - around 6 hours from the date/time of this posting to get your miles entered - or get a big fat DNF!

Last entry just gone in. hope I'm not too late. Would just like to add a special thanks to TBY for organising this, it has been a real pleasure, even if I haven't contributed as much as I would have like to at the beginning of the challenge.

Incidentally, I will be cycling through Wakey tomorrow from Leeds. Got a meeting up there and am getting a colleague to drive me up there so that I can ride back.

    Once again thank you.
