how much weight have you gained

Morning weigh in, and I'm still sitting at 14 lbs up in 24 weeks.
Wow! So you've lost 2 pounds in the past 8 weeks?
Amazing!... this pregnancy weight fluctuations thing blows my mind.
There was a discrepancy between my doctor's scale and my home one. My doc's scale had me up 10 more lbs than my home one, and I had just been thinking they were the same, so 8 weeks ago, I was only up 6 lbs, not 16.
This isn't the first time your doctor does weird things!
He was also counting your gestational age differently.
Strange...?! I would question this doc!
I already dumped him. He turned out to be a complete *kitten*. Now seeing a midwife.0 -
35 weeks and up 33.5 lbs....there's no way I'm gaining 40 lbs, go me!!!0

Ahhh thanks lovely!! :-):-)0 -
Well, 35 weeks and 45 pounds, I think the biggest thing has been lack of exercise the last couple of weeks- gotta get my butt going!0

Well hoping people feel better about their weight gain after my post here
Over the course of 40 weeks (gave birth on my due date) I gained 50 lbs :ohwell:
One week later and I have lost 22 lbs of it. I had a C-section and so have not been working out, just eating right and had that fall off quick! I'm BF-ing so have added in an additional 500 calories a day to keep the supply up and have still been losing. So for everyone who has put on WAY more than they wanted to (like I did) fear not! :flowerforyou:
It's very normal to drop that amount after giving birth. I dropped 20-25lbs the first two weeks after both of my delivery. It was the last 20-25lbs that was a pain to get rid of ..
lol i completely agree. I gained 47lbs with DD and lost 20lbs right away. The rest of it stuck with me for 9 months until I woke up and realized it won't come off without doing some real work. I ended up losing all the baby weight PLUS 23 lbs for a grand loss of 70lbs by time my DD was 18months.
Agreed. I gained 65 lbs with my son but lost 20 pounds within the first week and a half to two weeks. I then hung onto it, thinking that with nursing and pumping it would continue to fall off on its own, and at three months postpartum I got myself onto MFP and never looked back! (I lost 82 pounds from my settled postpartum weight, or 102 if you count from my pre-delivery weight.) I am bigger than I would like at this point (and so I'm admittedly afraid to get on the scale), but either way I know I'm not eating like I was the first time, and I should not have to start anywhere close to where I did last time, even if I gain a lot.0 -

I wish there were a "like" function (or a "love" function) on MFP comments like there is on Facebook!0 -

It happens girl! Everyone is different. Try setting the goal not to go over 50 lbs! I hope you can get back to exercising! Its so hard getting back to it after you get out of the habit!!!!!0 -
I am 38 weeks and have gained about 33 pounds...so much for staying under 30 pounds!0

That's pretty much 30 lbs. Just count the last 3 as water weight.
All kidding, aside, you're doing great! 33 lb gain for almost full term is excellent!0 -

Agreed, 33 pounds is really fantastic! My goal is 35 or under, so you're right where I want to be at 38 weeks. (And beware, with my son, I delivered at 38w5d! You may be closer than you realize )0 -

I'm at 9 weeks and I haven't gained anything, but I'd like to lose 10 lbs before I hit 20 weeks...how's that for wishful thinking! ha. It's second baby and I am more motivated to stay disciplined this time...first baby and a pregnancy gain of 50 lbs really made getting back into shape a chore!0

Hi everyone. I am 15 weeks today and seem to just gain and lose the same 1 lb. In the last few weeks I started doing Turbo Fire again.
Is anyone else that had a really large weight loss afraid to gain weight? I went from approx 230 lbs to 165 lbs from June 2011 to March of this year and I have such an intense fear of gaining the weight again I gained back 15 lbs due to a trip to Disney, and well summer bbq's and summer beverages. I was really disappointed in myself at 180 and decided to do something about it, only to discover that I was pregnant. I don't know how to mentally get myself to a place where I understand it's ok to gain weight, in fact I should be gaining weight. I hope I'm not alone in this and that I don't sound like a horrible person0 -

That's great you haven't really gained!!! You are not alone!!!! I went from 237-150lbs in a years time RIGHT before getting preggo. .as a matter of fact I had actually met my mini goal of 150 after I knew I was preggo lol the fear of gaining too much was/is definitely there! I think the reason i have put on what i have is from being lazy and over endulging for my first two trimesters! Ive since been able to pretty much maintain in the third bc ive been eating better and working out but you are def not alone!! And dont feel bad, theres so many others out there that feel the same way!!! Oh yeah, i am 35 weeks and have gained 33.5 lbs. The important thing is that we are growing a human inside us so we need to eat more and put on a little weight ;-) after baby we can concentrate on losing and getting our bodies back so I wouldn't stress too much and feel free to add me!0 -

While I think it's great too, in reality I am sure I can attribute that in part to not eating enough. Yesterday is a good example. I had a bottle of water during my work out, and drink water throughout the day. I had 2 pieces of whole wheat toast with peanut butter for breakfast with a glass of 1% milk. I was literally running around until about 1:30 yesterday afternoon and was starving so broke down and grabbed a small fry and a mcdouble from mcdonalds while I was out. I am in school for nursing and have 2 exams this week so I was studying last night. I ended up snacking on 2 or 3 of those 50-90 calorie chocolate bars leftover from halloween and that was it for the day. DH and the kids weren't home so I didn't have any motivation to make anything for dinner.
This is really pretty typical. Sometimes I will eat both lunch and dinner, but most times it's an either or. This isn't healthy0 -
38 weeks and up 56.6lbs It has picked up for me again, I'm thinking the majority is just water weight though as I've been more swollen lately. I'm kinda over it since i only have a few 3 or less weeks to go!0

You are almost done!!!! I'm right behind you as far as weight- I think we will both end up gaining about the same, I agree with the water weight I can really tell in my face and hands some days are just not good but you will be able to lose it all0 -
36 weeks and up 2 more pounds for a total of 40lbs!0
-
33 weeks and up 49lbs . But the baby is measuring at 35 weeks ( although im not really sure what that means, does it mean he may come early?/)0
-
I've stopped weighing myself everyday (it was getting to be too depressing), so I'm not sure exactly what I weigh. The exciting news is that as of today (@33 weeks) I noticed it feels like the baby is taking up enough room in there that there is no longer so much room for food. Unfortunately, it's making breathing kind of hard. The doctor says this is normal...0

Oh girl! You need to be careful and get enough cals! My dr gave me 1800 when I first found out I was preggo!0 -
This is my first pregnancy and I’m 20 weeks on Wednesday. According to the scale this morning I have gained 19lbs :..( The first trimester really messed me up. I was really hungry, needed to eat to make the nausea go away and was soooo sleepy I stopped exercising for a month and a half. Before getting pregnant I had been on MFP for a year, logged every day, worked out almost daily and had lost 31lbs so I feel really bad with this weight gain. My doc told me I should only gain 15lbs total cuz I started out obese.
I have an appointment with a nutritionist tomorrow so hopefully that helps and I’m determined to log daily again. I had stopped. Keeping it around 1800 and hope that works. Plus now that I'm in my 2nd trimester I feel a lot better. No more nausea and I have more energy to workout again (Zumba and bike riding)0 -

hey don't stress out. I gained a lot my first and beginning of 2nd tri. Up until 24wks I had gained 20-21lbs. I am 30wks now and as of this morning I have gained 23.2lbs. It had slowed down soooo much and I am still eating the same as before! I actually don't exercise as much as I used to. I used to exercise 5-6days a week and now I am down to 3 days a week. last week I only exercised once. Lol. But I have a feeling the reason I am not gaining weight is because I am losing muscle mass and its turning into fat, my jeans have gotten tighter around my butt and thighs :-/ LOL. I will get back to doing total body workouts but maybe 2 days a week and then cardio for 2 days. I really want to exercise more, but I have been getting a lot of BH from it so I want to take it easy until I am closer to 40wks. I also keep my cals 1800-2100 a day. Depends on how hungry I am. I have days that I can never be full and days where I get at 1700 cals and I feel soooo full. Pregnancy calories is a guessing game. Just go by how you feel. I never starve myself.
30wks + 23.2lbs0 -

Hang in there girl! i'm trying not to get upset about my weight gain too. i'm 17 weeks and up 15lbs. I decided it's time to start logging again because I hadn't been. i also wasn't able to work out for a while b/c of complications and it's been hard to get back on the ball (esp cause it's FREEZING here now!) I have decided not to step on the scale until my next OB appt so he can tell me my total weight gain instead of getting upset over a bad week. I keep telling myself "(I lost the weight before I can lose it again!)0 -

^THIS.
I've gained more than I should so far, and I'm only nearing the end of my first trimester. I am trying not to let it stress me out. Right now my body doesn't need much in the way of extra calories (and I was eating a lot to keep nausea at bay), but as I get further along, it will need more and more... Meaning if I keep eating the same way I am now, my body will be "using" more of those extra calories to put towards the baby, and more of my weight gain will actually be baby, not my butt. Or at least I hope that's how it goes!
11w2d, +7 to 9lbs, depending on how nice the scale wants to be to me0 -

Yeah, that's the other thing - I lost it once, I can do it again! I lost 82 pounds after my son was born (not counting the initial 20 lbs loss in the first couple of weeks or so). I'd like to keep my weight gain below 35# this time, but even if I don't and gain a whole lot more, I should still be way under where I was the first time. Which means I can do it again!0 -
