I'm 8 weeks right now and have gone up and down 3 lbs so far. My last pregnancy I lost 10 lbs the first trimester I was so sick and then gained 50 lbs the last 4 months of my pregnancy! I'm hoping not to repeat that pattern this time...need to get my eating under control--more fruits and veggies--less carbs!0

40w2d and up 36lbs this morning. For a while there at the beginning of my 3rd tri I was afraid of reaching 40+, but the weight gain has pretty much stalled (fluctuating the same few lbs) since about week 35. Hoping this baby comes out soon, I don't want to suddenly start retaining water now that I'm overdue. (One of my friends suddenly bloated up several pounds after the 40w mark :noway: )0

Water weight gain isn't something to worry about. It goes away so quickly just like it comes on. Don't stress. You're doing really really great!0 -
Wa to go jls!! Looks like you got to 40 weeks right within your goal weight gain!
So..... anyday now?!0 -

I hope so! I'm DONE and we're getting anxious. DH is so disappointed each morning when he gets up and realizes he has to go to work. :laugh:0 -
Well hoping people feel better about their weight gain after my post here
Over the course of 40 weeks (gave birth on my due date) I gained 50 lbs :ohwell:
One week later and I have lost 22 lbs of it. I had a C-section and so have not been working out, just eating right and had that fall off quick! I'm BF-ing so have added in an additional 500 calories a day to keep the supply up and have still been losing. So for everyone who has put on WAY more than they wanted to (like I did) fear not! :flowerforyou:0 -

It's very normal to drop that amount after giving birth. I dropped 20-25lbs the first two weeks after both of my delivery. It was the last 20-25lbs that was a pain to get rid of ..0 -
Faug, thanks for sharing, that is great to know!
Snow i was so glad to see your stats b/c you are totally all belly and i'm 17 weeks and just steped on the scale to realize I'm up 12lbs (which is like 3lb gain in the last week so maybe it's water weight) Anyway, i was glad to see that someone who looks as great as you gained the same amount by now0 -

I've gained like 13 in 18ish weeks with 3 seeming to come on in a week too, but it never fell off - so water weight or no, it seems here to stay!0

lol i completely agree. I gained 47lbs with DD and lost 20lbs right away. The rest of it stuck with me for 9 months until I woke up and realized it won't come off without doing some real work. I ended up losing all the baby weight PLUS 23 lbs for a grand loss of 70lbs by time my DD was 18months.0 -

There was a discrepancy between my doctor's scale and my home one. My doc's scale had me up 10 more lbs than my home one, and I had just been thinking they were the same, so 8 weeks ago, I was only up 6 lbs, not 16.0 -

This isn't the first time your doctor does weird things!
He was also counting your gestational age differently.
Strange...?! I would question this doc!0 -
