Hello Lushes!!!

I can't believe it is August already. More BBQ's, more picnics, more unwinding outside with a nice beverage.

What is a lush supposed to do?

Welcome back to the non judgement zone. We lush together or we support the non lushing.

Have a great August.

so last night I had one diet coke vodka and one vodka rocks. I did good though because I had the first one at 3:00 and made it last until 7:00 then the second one lasted from 7 to 8:30. And for a guzzler like me that was incredible moderation.:drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:

Hello everyone!! I can't believe it is August already! Where did the summer go?

    Monday-0
    Tuesday-0

Plan are zero until at least Saturday. We leave for a mini vacation to inlaws lakehouse Wednesday, so I am sure there will be a lot of boozing there. So I am trying to keep drinks to a minimum until then.

    Nice Robin!!!
Chloe, weekend by the lake...sounds awesome!!!

    Sunday-2 1/2 beers
    Monday-8oz of wine
Tuesday-well.....I had extra cals so decided to have a cocktail (2oz of skyy vodka and some crystal light), then moved onto wine, finished up the box, which was about 12oz THEN my sister in law called and we spent about 1 1/2hrs on the phone, therefore I opened a bottle and drank half. Got to bed super late, 11pm...which is late for me since I'm usually in bed by 9 ( I know I'm a loser). I still managed to get up at 5am for my workout and feel pretty damn good, so I'm not complaining!!
Wednesday-wine for sure. I know I shouldn't drink alone, but the time my husband isn't home is much easier dealt with with a glass of wine

Hello ladies! Some of you may remember me; I was a lush and then got pregnant last May. Now I have a sweet little 6 month old girl. She has slowed me down some, but not completely. :drinker: As before, I attempt to stay mostly dry during the week and then kick it up on the weekends. But I'm finding not being hungover at 7am on Saturday is more fun than being really hungover, so I'm trying to keep the drinking in check. Anyways, I used to like this forum to keep tabs on myself and read about my fellow lushes.

Here's this weeks tally; I've been good.

    Sunday: 2 beers
    Monday: 0
    Tuesday: 0
Planning on nothing tonight but often times my husband, daughter and I walk up to one of our favorites restaurants because it's half price bottle night, so we'll see.

    It's good to be back!

    It's August already? Yikes!

Haven't been staying as dry as I wanted to during the week, but nothing terrible.

    Sunday - 1 margarita
    Monday - 0
Tuesday - I accidentally put cherry rum in my diet Dr. Pepper and had a vodka/diet cranberry later.

Welcome back Ashley! Congrats on your baby!

Robin - Kudos to you for spacing and restraint.

Syd - Hope you get things going in the right direction. Having a kid leave the nest is HARD! I found it was one of those things nobody ever really talks about and felt like there was something wrong with me that I was taking it so hard and internalizing it. Finding a hobby and keeping yourself busy helps, more so than drinks (at least in my case).

Kat - How exciting, getting close now...with invitations being mailed! I will be patiently waiting for mine (just kidding)

Cheers to all the other lushes! May August be awesome!

Hello Ladies! I haven't been involved in the group much in the past months...wanting to change that! I cannot believe that it's already August 1! Where does the time go??

I've gotten into a pretty big wine kick since I went to visit my friend in Iowa. Those wineries up there make some damn good wine! Only problem...none of them ship to Kansas. What kind of BS is that?!?!?

Happy 1st of the month AND Wednesday....only a couple more days until the weekend!! WOO HOO!!

    No, not August already!!

Great job on moderating, Robin. This is my continued goal as well.
Good to see you papa lush, and welcome back Ashley. Congrats on the baby!

Thanks to all who have been supportive. I know I'm being a baby about this college thing, and I also know things will be fine. Believe it or not, the husband is more of a mess about it than I am. He and the son are best buddies. That and the fact his company was bought out makes for some serious stress on his part. Of couse Ive taken on the role of just trying to make everyone happy (so typical of us women, right?) , so it helps just to vent here sometimes. If I get too annoying, just smack me.

2 glasses of wine last night spread out over quite some time. Yay me :drinker:
    Happy hump day everyone.

Good job Mama Lush!! I was and still am a fast drinker so slowing down and really being focused was and still is difficult at times but it sure is nice to not have hangovers and to just be able to enjoy my boozy beverage and the sleepy feeling that comes with it.

    Welcome back Ashley!!

Chloe that sounds like a great weekend and good for you sticking with 0's :flowerforyou:

SoCal I know coming here and venting always helps me. My fiancé is my best friend but sometimes it's him I need to vent about

Kblue I always drink more when I talk to my mom on the phone but I actually kept myself in line on Monday when we talked, I was so proud

Wolf it's so close now!! 2months and 6 days

I'm finally home today so I've got to tackle the mountain of laundry we have and definitely vacuum the carpets that have a black layer from my lovely lab :noway: Just finished up leftover pizza for lunch which will hold me until dinner or longer. Fiancé hopes tonight won't be as late of a night but still not normal time so I'm betting there is wine or something in store after both my work outs of course :drinker:

    Monday, 3 beers
Tuesday into Wednesday, legendary marathon day in a sad, sick kind of way. Not trashed tho, because I don't like to mix gambling and drinking. I walked back to the room which was like a mile away every time I wanted one for the most part. I learned the secret of bringing liquor into the casino which I was thrilled about.

I am dry until Friday for wine tasting night which will be MODERATION.

    Wednesday, 0
    Thursday, 0
    Friday, 3 or 4
    Saturday,0
    Sunday, 0

Glad to see the regulars back on the boards.

Sydney, vent away. It's bitter-sweet to have such a fine young man. I am wondering who wil be the DD then?

So far this week, I've had all 0's since Saturday. However, since it's hubby's "weekend" and I'm making stuffed peppers for dinner...I'm thinking wine will be consummed. At least, I'm hoping there is some waiting for me when I get home from work ;)

I learned the secret of bringing liquor into the casino which I was thrilled about.

Are you going to share this with your fellow lushes in case I ever make it to a casino?

Vodka is flowing freely tonight and damn am I get a lot of cleaning done! My white cabinets in the kitchen are absolutely glowing! (Yeah... my house was built in the 80's) maybe they will come back in style:laugh:

    Well, here's what I figured....obviously, they're not all set-up like ours

    1) When you purchase one in the casino, you can walk back to your room and refill saying that it was purchased in the casino. I used the excuse I had to check on the kids if I were questioned coming back.

    2) There's also a bowling alley there that serves liquor and said that we purchased it there.

    3) You can pack a flask - or - a water bottle filled with vodka in your purse and get the free mixers.

2 glasses of wine last night. 2 glasses is good for me because typically 2 glasses leads to another bottle which = 4 glasses which can make me feel a tad bit crappy. Tonight is like my Friday so not sure about the drinks tonight. I had a good weigh in this morning so it makes me want to keep things in check!
