1/12/13: new distance 3.08, total distance 18.45 ... Broke out in song, walked through a deeply cloven track between tall trees. Climbed a steep slope, and Pippin yawned. Lazy bugger. It was only nearly midnight. Made camp anyway in a firwood just over top of the hill. Slept by a large tree and was spotted by a fox, yet disaster failed to occur. Had (first) breakfast at the campsite and got water from a stream at the foot of the hill. It was pretty -- there was a little waterfall at a grey stone outcropping. Didn't leave till after 10:00. Approached what appears to be a rolling road...0

Oh my goodness! I need to do this with you guys! I've been wanting to do the Hobbit/LOTR challenge for a while now. I need to go back and see if I can calculate everything since Jan. 1st!
Yay! This is awesome!
BTW, HUGE HUGE LOTR dork here. My and my husbands wedding rings are the one ring! But not the evil one. We have a love mushy poem written in Elvish on ours!
One ring to show our love.
One ring to bind us.
One ring to seal our love
And forever to entwine us.0 -
Ok I'm caught up I think! I'm on the Roller Coaster road too! 21.54 miles so far. (Road rolls up and down.)0
-
And NOW to bed! Pippin says, when BLACK RIDER is heard again (ca. 9 p.m.). ELVES arrive, RIDER leaves, and Frodo & Co. continue with Elves.0
