Whooo I can do a shoulderstand in yoga now! I always thought my *kitten* was too heavy. Well it kind of is still. But I got over being "scared" of doing it at least. My form is kinda.. not straight still. But I can work on it now!

I only ate 1/3 of a cherry pie turnover. I did not panick about the calories when I saw it was 410 calories. before I would go to the extreme on this. I would either deny me a bite all together or I would down the whole thing and beat myself up over eating it.

today I said okay I will just break a small piece off and eat a few bites and I am not going to feel the least bit guilty over it.

While doing my 150 walk in March at the mall yesterday, I stopped in a H&M store. I tried on a cute black leather jacket and when I looked in the mirror I was so happy because not only did it fit, but I thought it was actually cute on me.

    NSV goals reached-
    1) I Had the courage to walk in a regular (non plus size) store without thinking that people are wondering "Why is she in here?"
    2) I Had the courage to just grab a jacket and try it on in the store-not in a private dressing room
    3) Victory-actually liked what I saw in the mirror

This process of getting fit is a long one, requiring tenacity and patience. I love that we have this forum to share all our victories and blessings we receive as a result of our dedication.

Congratulations! I have been the same way about denying myself completely of foods I thought were horrible, but it's really about finding balance. If I am craving something so bad I can't see straight I just give myself a little bit of it and it really helps. Plus, it's not going to ruin EVERYTHING! lol :) Great job!

thanks this is what I am trying to teach myself on. when you deny yourself entirely you are more tempted to binge trying to find something else to eat

I have enjoyed reading everyone's NSV's.......congratulations to all.

I have had quite a few of my own, but my best one so far, was when I went to the home improvement store with my husband and he said to me, "look at you, keeping up with me." He is 6'1", I am 5'2-3/4", and it used to be difficult to keep up with his stride.

My most unusual one involved my laundry basket........................it is so much lighter because my clothes are so much smaller. I am down from a tight 24W to size 10 now. I lost a lot of material in the last year.

I was actually able to jump a few times at Zumba today. I have really bad knees and jumping with the extra fat is awkward and embarassing. But I was able to do it today and it didn't hurt my knees! I was pretty excited about it.

I am wearing my NSV today! :) I have this pair of "skinny jeans" that I could barely fit into when I bought them. I think I poured myself into them for a total of 3 months (on days the weather was bad and I needed something to fit into my rain boots) before I had to put them in the "one day I will wear that again" pile. Today the weather is icky and I thought "Hmm, wonder if I can wear those now?" Turns out they are actually LOOSE. I was shocked. So I happily pulled my belt out to wear with my skinny jeans while walking around in the snow today. :D

Ok, my most current non-scale victory is giving away a whole bunch of clothes that have been too big for months. But I was afraid to get rid of them for fear of gaining back all my weight. I gave away a bunch of 3X shirts and size 44 pants. I am wearing xl shirts and size 38 pants now.
Also congrats to everyone on their NSV's!

Just a little victory today... I lost a half inch on my hips! I also am doing much better today on the amount of sugar I consume. Normally I consume anywhere from 80 to over 100 grams or sugar more than my daily amount. Today I'm only 10 grams over! The day isn't over yet, but that's still much better than before.

yesterday after 10 hours at uni (library and classes) instead of eating everything in the house (which I wanted to do!) I made a two egg omelette with a whole orange pepper and 32g of blue cheese, only took 10 mins from putting down my book bag to sliding it onto my plate and it meant that even on a day with no planned exercise I was still 100cal under my daily goal!

These are some great nsv's. I have a couple too. I have been losing inches more than weight. At least that's what it seems like.

Well my winter wool jack has been big but I figured I could make it through the season and buy a new smaller one next year. Well it decided to start to fall apart. Well my old one was a size 16 and it was tight to button. My next one is a size 6. I almost fell over when it fit and buttoned and wasn't too tight.

My second one is I swim a lot and I was feeling like my speedo bathing suit was showing to much chest. Well I went yesterday and bought a new suit. 2 sizes smaller than my current one. So since last July I have gone from a size18 suit to a size 10. This is so exciting.

I have to to get some new jeans. The 10 and 12 I have are getting to big. So I may finally be in single digits for pants again.

All of this and the scale hasn't moved that much. I only wish the scale would catch up to the inches but I am sure that t some point it will. And actually who cares are long as I feel good.

Keep up the good work everyone.

today nsv isn't really fitness related but it is still a big accomplishment. usually I am very vocal about sports and yell and for lack of a better word act like an idiot. well today I didn't have as many slip ups like I usually do and I was not asked by a coach to be escorted out of the game like another person was. I still need to improve a lot but the point is I did do better. will keep trying.

my mile is about 16 minutes. You are encouraging me to push myself faster.thanks
Did my mile in 14mins 31 sec today! A whole Minute faster than usual.

I really thought about quitting at about 0.6 miles, but then I though "you won't get anywhere doing that" I just kept repeating in my head"you can do this, just a bit longer, can't quit now!"

I am really proud of myself.
