All i had was meat, and 5 pieces of okra, non battered and a water for dinner, and I had a 103 BG just now. Its been hovering right over 100 since this morning. I am used to it being in the 90s. I worked out today, i had 64 carbs total today, shouldnt it be low?

I have been having having such god numbers, that teh last two days I have not only bent the rules to my carb intake but ran right over them. However after dinner, my BG was 114, but still had the effects of 120 carbns from eating 6 pillsbury choclate chip cookiesand a brownie:grumble:

Gald you asked this question about post dinner raedings , very important question.

    Thnaks

Forgot to post last night , but 2:15 minutes after starting dinner my BG number was 87 at 9:23pm. I had an unusually low amount of carbs for dinner, being 21 as my normal intake is 150-200 per day.

However , I had way to many (over 200) the day before with to many cookies and fudge.

So, 87 is majic number on Tuesday, March 25.

This is a great question to get the group responding.

i had a spike this morning after my bootcamp class, and i was really angry. It was like 119. Made me not want to exercse! Now it is 84. I think exercise makes me spike.
  • And here I was thinking that exercise was so supposed to help lower numbers. Hmmm.

Exxercise , especially intense will raise BG on everyone if it is intense exercise. With Diabetics it is very helpful to exercise, because it does at least for me help with insuln resistance. I have tetsed mine right after intense exercise, which is 63 minutes burning over 600 calories on an air dyne bike. Right after I have seen number go as high as 120, then 30 minutes later it is down into 80's.

So I hope this helps. Keep exercising but also talk to your doctor about your concerns. Good luck.

I had vegetarian risotto--my own recipe. 1 cup and 1 cup of beans, 1 tablespoon of brewers yeast and 1 canned pear.
    125. I don't usually check my post dinner level, but usually right before bed. I was just curious what the risotto would do.
I ate dinner a little later tonight as well. I'm not expecting my am reading to be great, but I hope to be surprised.

Good evening- wanted to see my number would be at 90 minutes instead of 2 hours. BG@ 9:20 was 122. Disappointed it was not little lower, because did not have a heavy carb dinner

Oh well, we can see what it looks like Tursday night.

Everyone have a great night, what's left of it.

It is perfectly normal to have a BG reading of 120 2 hours after a meal even for a non diabetic. The targets for diabetics is 180 1 hour after a meal and 140 for 2 hours. Perhaps you are obsessing over the numbers too much

    http://www.diabeticlivingonline.com/expert-qa/blood-sugar/the-best-time-to-check-blood-glucose-after-a-meal/

The American Diabetes Association recommends a target of below 180 mg/dl two hours after a meal. The American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists recommends a lower target: below 140 mg/dl two hours after a meal.

Good evening... Taking a break after watching great BBall. Wow.. Michigan what a comeback to force overtime. Ok, enough basketball.

Took it at 1:45 minutes after dinner with decent carb intake, but blew it out at lunch, with hush puppies.

Reading at 9:45 was 122. Was hoping for lower , especially after great workkout today.

Everone have a great holiday this weekend.

I checked mine after 2 hours of eating a Subway 6" roast beef and baked sour cream and onion lays. It was 138. Glad I took a shot before I ate.

Good evening everyone... BG @ 9:18pm- 103. Taken 1:55 minutes after starting dinner.

This is a great question and as important as fasting number. I hope others start recording their findings.

Air angel... Thanks for publicly recording. I, too think this is very important information for all of us to share, hence the post meal numbers. It provides us information as to what our fellow MFP friends are experiencing and exchanging experiences to help us all on our journey to remain healthy. I am so glad my doc told me to get on MFP. It is invaluable.

Good luck on your journey. Anything I can help with, please let me know.

6.5 mmol (or 117 for those in the US.) Had a low carb dinner and adjusted gluconorm accordingly. Looks about right.
  • What is the best number for the bg because mine is usually 100 & 104 and I can't seem to have a certain level that it stays at. I did have 97 for a bg but that did not last long at all. This morning it was at 100. At night it is higher. Is that what normally happens at night?
