Hi everyone! I swear I posted my intro here before but I don't see myself anywhere, so pardon me if I'm a repeat.
My name is Gaby and I'm a crocheter (hooker!) who resides in Louisiana when at school, and Florida on break. I've been crocheting not even a year yet and I love it. I have no intention of stopping.
I love amigurumi and anything useful- when I'm not making something cute, I'm making something practical like a crochet hook caddy or a cozy for my kindle.
My ravelry name is 3jane!0 -
Hello all!
I'm new to the group so thought I would say a quick hi. I'm an avid knitter who lives in the Okanagan. I'm currently working on two blankets, a zig-zag blanket and barn raising quilt, both of which are taking forever! I like knitting dishcloths for that feeling of immediate stratification!
I didn't realize that there was a knitting group on here, so now I'm excited that there is a space on here where I can talk about knitting and fitness0 -

Hey, everyone! I'm Amber, a 25-year-old knitter from WV. Between my work, my partner, and our six furbabies (!), I sometimes struggle to find time to knit. However, I'm participating in the Ravellenic Games this year, and mass cast-on is tomorrow. I'm excited to be here and to meet all of you!0

Hey Ya'll !!!
I am Brenda from Jefferson, SC and I have been crocheting for 38 years and just taught myself to knit about 2.5 years ago by watching an Elizabeth Zimmerman Workshop video. Now that I have learned to knit, I am in love!!!
Right now I am making booties, hats, and blankets to donate to a group that delivers to the NICU in hospitals in different states for the preemies.
I was so happy to have found MFP!! Now to add friends for motivation. Thanks for having me in this group and look forward to chatting and adding friends to my site!!
Huggies,

Hello,
I'm Clara - Knit-iot on ravelry. I'm currently living in China with my husband but I am from England. I'm a teacher at an international school here. I'm trying to lose about 10 pounds...not much really but I love food so trying to find a balance between eating food I enjoy and eating for that will nourish my body is the challenge I need to overcome. I have decided to try to reduce the grains that I eat...
I have been knitting since May 2010. I started because I needed to do something with my hands to stop me comfort eating! I really enjoy it though. I have also recently taken up spinning although I'm not very good yet! Feel free to add me!0 -
Hi everyone....I just joined last night and it is great to find a group that shares my favorite hobbies crocheting and knitting. I have been crocheting for a while, I just learned to knit 3 years ago and I can say I do not knit as fast as I crochet. I live in Florida with my hubby and our "children"(1 dog, 4 cats, 7 birds, and 1 rabbit). I need to lose 80+ pounds and get healthy. Right now I am crocheting a purse and knitting some placemats....I always seem to have more than one project I am working on!0

Hi all
I'm Yvonne and I manage an LYS. I love to knit, but find that I don't often have much time! I've designed my first project but am still working out the kinks. It's a toy, so don't get all excited that I have a sweater pattern out there somewhere.
Hope to find encouragement here...I need it!0 -
I've been crocheting for about 10 years, knitting on an off for about 5...mostly off. I'm in the middle of crocheting a shrug and knitting a sweater, as well as working on Christmas gifts! I'm chickwithhooks over at Ravelry.0

Joined Fitness Pal in August - still getting used to it. Live in Nova Scotia. Love to knit and crochet. My craft friends always give me lots of leftover yarn so I use it to make things for charity. I am also on Ravelry and just joined the Fitness Pal group (craftnut). Trying to balance exercise time with knitting time!0

Hello all, I am a 60 year old grandmother, who was taught to knit by her mother when I was 8. Been knitting, crocheting, embroidering, doing counted cross stitch, and needlepoint. Right now I knit whenever I can. I usually have a small portable knitting project, like socks, in my purse.0

Hi,
I'm Clareece, and I'm 20. I live in a little town called Warsaw,IL. I joined TOPS (Taking off Pounds Sensibly) yesterday with my dad; my mom and brother joined earlier. I enjoy knitting and crocheting and used to be in a Tuesday night knitting club; I'll miss them but my health needs to be a higher priority right now. I hope that this group will help me combine my passion for crafting with my passion for fitness. Sincerely,
Clare0 -

Hello! I'm a 29 year old knitter from Ohio. I picked up Stitch n ***** and a set of knitting needles and yarn in 2004 and haven't looked back! Even though I've been knitting for 8 years now I consider myself a beginner/novice. I've recently started trying to improve my knitting skills and even managed to learn to cable. Knittingwise my dream is to make myself a sweaterdress (and an awesome bag to go with it).0

Hi, I'm Sophie and I've been knitting since I was around 6, and crocheting starting a little later. I spin quite a bit too, and I'd like to learn to dye. I gained some weight when I started taking a new medicine, and now I want to get back to a weight I feel good about.0

Welcome JustiL and psychwardmascot!0

Hello, I'm Alix 30 and recently married. I lost 20 lbs before the wedding and have since gained 10 back. In the evenings I knit while my husband crochets. It's wonderful to be married to someone who lets my buy as much yarn as I want! And it's very handy to have someone else help with the Christmas gifts.0

Hi everyone,i'm jessica. I'm 29 and have a little girl named abby. She loves yarn as much as me, i can't wait to teach her to knit and crochet. She always comes up to me and asks for a yarn ball when i am crafting. She cracks me up. I want to lose weight for me. I gained a good 10 lbs after being married and another 10 crafting and eating. I've started to be more active and less crafty but that is okay. I don't need to finish a project in a day. I am goldmoonjd on ravelry as well so you can add me here and there!0

Hi everyone! I am Holli, and have been using the myfitnesspal app on my phone off and on.... needs to be more ON. I am a full-time working mom (12 yr old son), a dental assistant for a very busy practice, a fiance, and lover of fiber.
I have been knitting for about 10 years, and want to improve my skills. I cannot crochet, but it is going to be something I learn this year. I lost a good amount of weight about 4yrs ago, and have put about 25 lbs back on. Time to get it off. Exercise and sleeping are a big help to me... know what I need to do. Hope we can be blessings to one another on our journeys.0 -
Hi I'm Becky (mekare9601 on Rav). I'm fairly new to my fitness pal. I'm 30 years old with 2 young boys and a husband. We have a small and zoo's worth of pets including dogs, cats, turtles, and hermit crabs. We live out in the middle of no where which is where we much prefer to be. A few years in the city and surrounding suburbs and we ran back to the peace and quite as soon as we could. I started knitting about 3 years ago (I think) when I was laid off from a job. I knew I needed something to keep me busy or I'd go crazy. It worked with the side effect of driving my husband crazy with my new found yarn addiction. I picked up crochet when I found a pattern I wanted to make my sister and couldn't figure out how to knit it and make it look the same. My grandmother tried teaching me when I was little and I never took it to heart. Now she's gone I wish she had been the one to teach me but at least I can still feel close to her when I pick up the hooks. I tend to make little things that don't require lots of skill because I really like to use knit and crochet as a way to unwind at the end of a day but I have tried picking more ambitious projects for the new year with the hopes of upping my skill set. I also want to make at least one or two things a month for the oncology unit at our local hospital. I just need to get on that for this month!0

Hello! I'm Melody, and I've been knitting for about 5 years and crocheting for almost 3. I think the most complicated thing I've made so far is a hat for a baby and some fingerless gloves. I keep telling myself I'll learn something more complicated eventually.
Currently working on a baby blanket for a friend, an amigurimi dragon for my husband, and an afghan for my mother. In that order, since there are time limits on the first one. hehe
I really wish I could crochet while on a treadmill! That would make this getting in fit thing much easier!0 -
Hi Sarah here. I am going to knit vicariously through the rest of you for a bit. I over did during the holidays and now have tendonitis in my left elbow and forearm. I have been knitting off an on since I was about 7. I really got back into about 5 years ago. I am in love with Jane Austen Knits (magazine) from Interweave. I recently (3 months ago) started teaching myself lace knitting. My biggest accomplishment prior to injury was a pair of fingerless glove in 6 hours (might have been a contributing factor to the aforementioned tendonitis) Once I am able to knit again I plan to learn how to knit right handed, so I can switch off hands.0
-
Welcome all new people! Sorry for the lack of reply. I totally slacked over the holidays. lol
Sisternight, I have tendonitis issues too. My doc told me not to knit so much at once. Also, I found this on pinterest so I try to stop every 20-30 minutes and move my hands/wrists around. http://www.freshstitches.com/wrist-exercises-knitters-crocheters-easy/I really wish I could crochet while on a treadmill! That would make this getting in fit thing much easier!
I told my husband I wanted one of those recumbent bikes so I could knit while I work out. :laugh:0 -
I definitely crochet on the recumbent bike... or did, when I used it more  !! Time to start doing that again...0

Hi
I'm Anne and I live in Niagara ,Ontario Canada...I've been knitting and crocheting for a few years but mostly easy things. I recently started my first Fair Isle sweater . Hopefully my knitting will keep me out of the fridge at night.....I tend to graze all evening unless I'm busy with something interesting.0
