@kelly: I'm in the same boat you are! 38 weeks. 19 lbs. Ready to get the squished-in little nerd out of there (sometime in the next two weeks, preferably not too much longer than that). Had an ultrasound this morning and they estimate it could weigh 8lbs 6oz by now. Head's measuring 34 cm around. Eeep.

I noticed we were pretty similar in the weight gain department. :D I'm hoping not to go over 40 weeks, but they let you go to 42 weeks here and I wouldn't want to be induced anyway. My first was born at 39 +4 but her placenta was in really bad shape and I think she was in a hurry to get out. That shouldn't be a problem this time so I'll probably go over. I've not had an ultrasound since 20 weeks, and they're not really bothered about baby's size here but my midwife did say she thought baby was average size. My first was 7lb 11oz. Hopefully this one will be a similar size!

@kelly: I'm not really in a rush either. I figure it will come when it's ready. They let you go to 42 here as well (sometimes more depending). It's more that the waiting will drive me bananas! ;)

I definitely am going to continue not logging. Unneccesary stressor for me because my body wasn't responding the way it does when I'm not pregnant (when not pregnant accurate cal counts correspond almost perfectly to weight loss/gain...not while pregnant!) - but glad to see that the weight gain slowed down. A pound a week is tolerable! If I continue to gain a pound a week I'll gain 25lbs.

Could be worse. If you try to keep your gain to a pound a week you'll finish between 30 and 35lbs, which is around average gain so it seems. This may seem a little excessive given your height, but if you're eating healthily you're unlikely to gain every week. If you find it hard to adjust your diet perhaps you could walk or swim the extra calories away? Plus at 28 weeks you are actually at the tail end of of growth spurt and your weight gain should slow down temporarily shortly anyway, making maintaining your current weight a little easier.

Time for my weekly weigh-in :)
I'm 5'6" and starting weight was 125lb, and this is my fourth pregnancy. I am due July 27th which is only 3 weeks away now. Wow almost there.. I got quite a few practice contractions this past week and went on a trip 4 hours away for a few days during which I didn't log any food I ate :)

Also my ankles/feet and calves started swelling this past week which never happened before. I think all the sitting in the car might have done that. Feeling a LOT of pelvic pressure, I think the baby might have dropped. So I was kind of panicky today and packed all my hospital bags and wrote a list of last minute stuff to add if I go into labor. I'm kind of ready but also getting a bit scared.. I have not done this in 6 years!

    Anyways, here is my update:
    16 weeks pregnant: 1lb gained
    18 weeks pregnant: 2lb gained
    19 weeks pregnant 2.5lb gained
    20 weeks pregnant 3.5lb gained
    21 weeks pregnant 5lb gained
    22 weeks pregnant 7lb gained
23 weeks pregnant 9 lb gained
24 weeks pregnant 9 lb gained
25 weeks pregnant 10 lb gained
26 weeks pregnant 12 lb gained
27 weeks pregnant 13 lb gained
28 weeks pregnant 14 lb gained
29 weeks pregnant 15 lb gained
30 weeks pregnant 15.5 lb gained
31 weeks pregnant 16 lb gained
    32 weeks pregnant 16.5lb gained
33 weeks pregnant 17 lb gained
34 weeks pregnant 18 lb gained
35 weeks pregnant 17 lb gained

You are doing so well! My swelling started after a long car trip too (8 hours both ways). A friend told me I had dropped yesterday and I panicked too, and finally got the stuff for my emergency hospital bag (in case the homebirth goes pear-shaped). I'm scared too as it's been nearly 5 years for me.

Lol, for me it has been kind of abstract, I guess when you feel the baby drop you think wow, it's really going to happen! :) I think my pregnancy hormones made me more scared also, I have been pretty much at peace the whole time and then I had a panic moment and thought I couldn't do it. I hope your home birth goes well and as planned with no need for the emergency hospital bag! I have a midwife also but am choosing to deliver at the hospital just in case anything goes wrong... if it goes well I am going home 3 hours after the birth :) I hate being at the hospital but I just didn't want to risk it since my house is almost an hour away.
