Hi there I'm Unaisha and I'm 21. My main goal is to lose 12 lbs before Christmas so that I can reach my weight goal. I do Tae Bo Cardio workouts 3-4 days per week along with strength training. However, I find it really hard to control my cravings in weekends. So far, I have lost 40 lbs and I'm really proud of myself. I just hope I can get rid of these last few pounds0

Hello, I am Maasha and 32 yr old mom of a toddler. My goal is to lose 5lbs by end of this year and primarily to tone and maintain my weight and basically incorporate healthy eating and regular workouts as part of my overall lifestyle. I have started the insanity program, and I'm determined to complete this workout. I love intense workouts as I like to be challenged but the hardest part is to turn on that DVD and get going.0

I'm Grace, and I'm 18. I want to loose 10 pounds by the time I have surgery (just a tonsillectomy, but people usually loose 10 pounds from not eating.) I want to loose 30 pounds by the summer. I find it really hard to loose weight, because I gain muscle very fast, but it's very bulky and not what I want my body to look like.0

I'm Deanna. I'm a nurse with 2 jobs and a mom to a high energy toddler. I have a long way to go to get to my goal weight (about 90 more lbs to go) but have a strong start the last 2 months. Been working with a trainer and trying to eat high protein/low carb. My favorite workouts are HIIT as I get bored SO easily with doing the same thing for 30-45 min straight. My goals are to have more energy to keep up with my son and to be a better example for eating and fitness for him. I know I'll have to be at this for at least a year to get near my goal, but I'm pretty damn determined. Nice to meet you all! :drinker:0

The name is Cheryl, I just turned 25, I'm currently serving in the Air Force, no kids and happily married. I'm determined to stop playing with the weight loss journey. I've been up and down for the last few years and I believe I'm ready to get on the wagon and not get off. Over the years, I have gained a lot of knowledge and tools to assist in losing weight, it has always been a matter of applying/using what I know and doing it consistently.
I began my journey at the start of the month and I'm down 2 lbs. I try to get at least 45 mins of cardio in 6 days out of the week and a circuit class in once or twice a week. Next month, I hope to incorporate weight training and a lot more running. I've been working on keeping the eating clean, so far so good!
I look forward to completing my weight loss journey with you all and I hope to assist you all in some way, shape or form :happy:0 -
I was once in the army, with a 3.8 percent body fat, weighing in at 235. My injuries in Iraq triggered a downward spiral in my health. I do not know how big I had gotten, but after losing over ten inches on my waist, I was down to about 350 pounds. I then got married. My wife manipulated and emotionally sabotaged everything in my life. I can now only wish her well, as the relationship is damaged beyond repair. By time I started to refocus on me, this March 28, I was all the way up to 430 pounds, 430.2 to be exact. I have started using my xbox Kinect, playing the Biggest Loser game. Using his, Bob Harper videos and several other things, I am nearing the 100 pound mark. I joined the DietBet with Jillian Michael's, and now in the DietBet 10 that just came out. I figure that it does not hurt, considering that I know I will lose the weight, barring injury. I aspire to compete in the Sparta race next year, after is reach my goal.
That is me in a nutshell.0 -
Hi I'm Carol. I've been on MFP for a couple of weeks now. I really do think I've found the right place for me. Wonderful software that helps me track every single bite I eat. That is what I need to make me aware of what I have been doing and what I need to do. I've been obese all my life, and it is time to not be obese anymore. I want to be able to move freely, get up and down easily and be in much better health. I'm an ovarian cancer survivor. It's been four and a half years now and I'm looking forward to five years cancer free next year. There were times I didi not think I would still be alive I five years, but so far so good. So, now to start living like I want to, since it appears I'll get to hang around a while longer.0

Hi I'm Eboni, I'm a college student. I've had this MFP account for a while, I've just never really put it into good use. I would really like to lose 96 pounds by my graduation in the spring of 2015. I'm at 230 pounds now. I'm a yo yo dieter and right now I'm trying something different. I'm easing my way into a lifestyle change of eating while still counting my calories. I would really like to get down at least seven pounds by the end of the month. I'm dedicating myself to MFP to get me there.0

Started this journey at 192 a couple years back...was down to 142 and have put back on 12 lbs in the past 6 months...summer always does me in...
Anyway...I'm working to lose around 7% bodyfat...the scale only works for me so much...pisses me off more then anything...so working more on muscle...toning...
I have 4 very busy kids and I'm turning 45 in December...was hoping to be back at by then but NOT going happen...so just working on a better me...0 -
I am TJ and Im trying to get into a more healthy lifestyle and be more active. I would like to try running a 5k, just once, to say I did it.0

Hello everyone!
I will be 49 in December, my last year in the 40's.... pretty darn scary.
My goal is to be in the best shape I can by the time I turn 50. I know I will never be like I was in my 20's and 30's and that's okay but I just want to move more, lift more, eat healthier and lose approx 50 lbs.
I was always fit as a teenager, 20's and 30's.... the 40's well, I fell apart. I was in a bad relationship and instead of exercising my stress away I ate Ben and Jerrys almost every night. Sweets are my downfall, big time.
Thank you for inviting me to this group. I feel like we will all be successful as long as we log in here daily!0 -
Hey, hons! My name is Lauren, I go by Lita! I'm 19, living in California. I've been on here for quite a while, maybe a little over a year, but have only been logging religiously for 79 days! In those 79 days, I've discovered that I CAN do this, and I WILL do this! I really need all the motivation I can receive, and I'd love to give some as well!
Kisses!0 -
Hi I'm Rebecca. 37 year old mom if two active kids. My goal is to get down to 135-140lbs which will be about a 90lb lose for me. I am doing this for two reasons...first and foremost is my health. I am diabetic and I want to get healthy to make it easier I fight. The second is I set a good example for my sons. I never want them to feel like an outcast due to their weight. I've been there and in a lot if ways though I am now comfortable in my own skin still am there. I have a long way to go but I will get there!0

Hey everyone!
I'm Kristin and I am 27 years old. My goal is to be 120 by next summer. Thats around 30lbs to go. I would also like to be more physically fit. My whole life I never had to do anything to maintain my weight; I could eat everything and anything I wanted. Well... that's not so much the case anymore lol. Totally a beginner to this gym and fitness thing, so any advice and tips are welcome. Please feel free to add me. Today is actually the first day of an 8 week beginner couch to 5k training so wish me luck!0 -
Hello I'm Madisyn, but I go by May. I decided to change my life and get healthy about 5 months ago. I did so because I was tired of putting crap in my body and treating it like trash. I have physical disabilities that I have used as my excuse for not being healthly since I was 10 years old. However, I'm no longer allowing myself to do so.
Also, the majority of my family is obese and suffer from obesity related health issues. I wanted to encourage my family to lose weight and get healthy by leading through example.
Currently, I am away from the love of my life and hope that the next time he sees me, I'll be the healthier, happier, new me.
I have lost 22lbs so far and have 18lbs left to lose. I hope to lose all 18lbs by February of 2014.0 -
My name is Renata. My goal is to lose an add'l 100 pounds. I went to a Personal Trainer 3 years ago and had lost 80 #'s. Gained it all back!!! Down 19 #'s again, as I went back to what worked. Hi! I'm ML and I am a 44 year old Paramedic living in the NW corner of Montana, spitting distance from our neighbors to the North. I have struggled with my weight since leaving the Army in 1991. About 3 years ago, I lost A LOT of weight and went from 265 to 145 and was regularly running 5ks and doing fun runs...drove 12 hours to a Warrior Dash in Oregon. (this was before they were in every town, every other weekend.) I went back to school and lost one of my jobs, my main income and spent 2 years eating cheap, ie. lots of carbs. I put the weight back on but this time, the pounds brought twenty of their friends. I can't do the things I love at this weight and it is unacceptable. I'm down 56 pounds since getting my "dietary-life" back on track. (August 17/2013.) My goal is to be able to keep up with my 3 year old granddaughter and to fit back into my extensive collection of vintage cocktail dresses and vintage lingerie. (is that TOO much information?) I also want to get back into backpacking shape. My life goal is to hike the Triple Crown before I am 50! (The AT, CDT and the PCT) When I pass back into ONEderland, I have a brand new pair of running kicks that I am ready to lace up and get to working on getting back into runner's shape. (have to wait til then to spare the knees.)
Thanks for inviting me to join the group. I've read all the introductions here and am honored to be amongst such august company!0 -

Hello everyone! Been at this awhile. Reached a goal of 156 in July 2012..... due to health conditions that I'll most likely be dealing with for quite some time I just need to find a way to reach my goals again regardless. Currently at 211. Ugh!! Looking forward to working with others on this journey!0

Hello all! I just realize that after accepting the invite to join this group, I never got around to coming in here and introducing myself.... so here goes! My name is Michael and a little over 22 years ago, I had an ATV accident which left me in a wheelchair, paralyzed from the waist down. I was always kind of a tall, lanky guy but after being in a chair for a few years, it didn't take long for the pounds to start adding up. Over the course of several years, my weight fluctuated.... up, down, up, down.... I seemed to be able to adjust my diet to easily gain or lose. During those years, I would occasionally try my hand at weight lifting, but I never stuck with it for more than 2-3 months at a time before I lost interest.
Fast forward to about 2.5 years ago when the company I work for started a program that allowed employees to gain points for fitness related activities and in turn cash those points in for merchandise. My interest was piqued and I started working out again but this time, it stuck! I acquired my own weight bench and free weights and started working out on a regular basis and the next thing I knew, I was totally hooked! My goal is to try and gain a bit of muscle mass and to just be more overall fit than what I was/am. As I said above, I've always been kind of lanky so I know that I'll never have the physique of these magazine cover fitness models... and at 49 years of age, I know that I'm beyond the *peak* years of packing on muscle... but I at least want to try and improve upon what little bit I do have.0 -
Hello all! I am Dawn and I am a wife, mother to three very active boys, and I work full time in a career where I sit all day. I am down 40 lbs (over 10 months) and have another 35 to go. My goal is the be healthy. After watching my mother die in June at the age of 68 from preventable health related illnesses, I swore to get my life back. I eat a mostly clean diet and attend Boot Camp style fitness classes 5 days a week at 5am. I love it and am hooked.
A few years ago I lost 70 pounds with the help of a diet clinic in 4 months time. Needless to say, lots of money down the drain, it all came back on with a vengeance. So, I'm committed to doing it the right way this time. I try to see the positive in all situations, it is what gets me through the day.
Thank you for the invite to the group, I love being able to support others and to find support when I really need it!0 -
HI! I'm Reilly and I am 22 and played college basketball and became an All American. I struggled after basketball to get myself motivated to workout again. I am now about 5 months into my serious working out. I would love to do some kind of figure competition. It means a lot of work so I would have to change my lifestyle, but me and my boyfriend are willing to do it. He used to play football in college. WISH US LUCK!0
