Schwalbe tubes and some new rim tape for the above 21 year old bike.( I already noted the Maxxis Hookworm tires for this bike last week.) I was out of Simichrome, so ordered a can as well. I have sone salmon Kool-Stop brake pads on their way, as well as a shorter, steeper stem from eBay. And I've ordered a new set of Jagwire cables.

My new old bike arrived from eBay today. It is pretty much a brand new 1993 Trek 970 Mountain Track; their top of the line mountain bike available at the time. It looks unused, with only a couple of scratches on the chain stay. No wear on the original tires, no wear from the cable guide rubbing on the frame, nothing!

    Sweet!

I was thinking of trying the Tubeless versions of the Ultremo's this summer - seeing as I've already got Tubeless compatible rims with the Ultegra wheelset, seems a shame not to at least try 'em...

I use ZX's... Class tyres IMHO... Just swap front to back every 2500km's or so, this'll make 'em last a bit longer!

Last thing I did wasn't showing it love.... Got a flat tire and didn't have a spare tube, so I put a spare tire/rim on it.... It was the back tire, so the gears went with it, but it came off a 24 speed and went on a 21 speed. It works, but not great. Before that, though I had a new bottom bracket put in..... That made the bike happy!

Park chain whip, and another stem for the Trek 970, as the eBay one didn't work out.

Switching cassettes on my trek to a 12-32 and changing derailleurs to a Shimano XTR. I'm going to see if I can make this Trek climb cliffs.  Hey! What else do you do when you live this close to Glacier National Park?

The yellow '93 was my grail bike, but the CV people have been saying that GP indicates this one is better.

EDIT: I guess the BBCode here doesn't support resizing? Dang. Ok,

[but I don't understand why they bother including saddles since they probably won't fit right for 99% of the owners.
Word. Anyone want a Prologo Kappa? :)

Socks - can never have too many socks...

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161242203365

(4 pairs of "Castelli" Corsa Rosso Socks for £15 posted. I'm pretty sure they're knock-offs/factory back door shrinkage, but they are impossible to tell from the real thing (well-assuming Wheelbase in the Lake District sell the real ones!))
