I'm in too please, if there's room.
TBY Edit - #326, Confirmed0 -
I'm in. Is 311 still available? I'll take it!
TBY Edit - Just been taken 3-4 posts above, but I reckon team 4 would be grateful for the km's... #335 - plus that way all the vacancies are now on team #2 so it's simple to just fill the gaps.
CONFIRMED!0 -
Can you please sign me up if there is a spot?
Warning: once again I have a very big ride scheduled for the first day, weather permitting.
TBY Edit - #322, Confirmed0 -
I'd love to join if there is room.
Couple questions:
1) Does total distance in a day count (ie commuting to and from work) or is it a single ride?
2) Can I use the rest days to make up for days I know I will miss as I am leaving for vacation on the 12th.0 -

1) it's total distance for the day. One entry posted a day, you aggregate your km's, time and ascent metres, and post links to the supporting rides.
2) no. Only distance ridden on "official stage days" counts.
if you're still interested get back to me... you've currently got first refusal on the last spot #328 :-)0 -
Hi if there's still places left please count me in ????
TBY Edit - #327 Confirmed0 -
Well as I know I'm going to be missing 3 days of the entire course I think I will decline and allow someone else if they want the spot but leave my name as an alternate if there is a free spot as I don't want to willingly put a team at a disadvantage.0

Don't let that stop you, you don't have to ride everyday, I have a three day stag weekend, only a couple of people tend to do every day during one of these Grand Tours.0 -
^^^ what he said - theres actually only one nutter* that's ridden every stage of the previous 2 challenges - most people ride maybe 15 out of the 21...
*don't worry, I'm only insulting myself :laugh:0 -
Ok, as long as you don't think I'll be hindering.
Sign me up coach... I'm ready to go!
TBY Edit - Confirmed on #324, our final spot - please PM me your Strava Athlete name and URL when you get a moment0 -
And that's a full rosta for all 4 teams...
Anyone who enquires from here on in can go on the "Reserves List" to fill any gaps that may occur from now until the Roll-Out in Jerez on the 23rd. After that point no substitutions allowed - just like the real thing.0 -
MrsCentralCaliCycling and I would like to participate but we will likely have at least one off week since we will be moving in the middle of the Vuelta. Is there still room?
That's not a problem David, though I think as we discussed via PM, it may be fairer if we put the two of you on 2 separate teams, just so that on your "move week" a single team isn't down by 2 riders. If that's OK with you, I'll pencil you in on 324 and Rosie on 314...
Sounds good
TBY Edit - I'll consider your two places Confirmed in that case0 -

For any of the newcomers - the flags etc. were taken from your location details in Strava - if anyone needs a re-jig of the racenumber, give me a PM.0

I thought I was 337?
My nick isn't silly enough already that you
changed it to Kaktus Jaque!

Oops! I was getting a bit groggy by the 34th number I'd done, and forgot to switch the names...0 -
Thanks for the Dossard Mark. Love the Sufferlandria flag.0

As always Mark, thanks for all the time and effort you put in to challenges. All the details like the dossards, the spreadsheet etc. make the challenge so much more enjoyable and intimate. It really adds tremendously to the enjoyment of the challenge. Kudos!!0

Thanks TBY.
Appreciate all the time you put into these events!

No worries - it's a shame really, I haven't managed to work in any extra "easter eggs" in the Dossards this tour... I've kept all the "custom" jobs from prior tours, as it's easier to re-purpose the last tour dossard than roll a new one from scratch.0 -
Thanks TBY.

Got it right Second Time - that's not bad for me...0 -

The Dossards are partly a "bonus" for everyone riding, and partly a cunning plan on my part,
a) to publicise the whole event (as in "WTF have you got as your profile picture", "Oh, its for a really cool cycling challenge some crazy english dude is running...")
and
b) to make it easier for me (or one of the minions helping out with the data entry) to tell at a glance who is who in the entries thread - it's WAY easier to see a BIG avatar with the number showing, than looking for the "Rider: 3xx" bit in the template...0 -
Okay - I've been out for a walk this afternoon - 3 hours of aimless wandering gives a fella time to dream up some extra stuff...
We have a RULE CHANGE for challenges going forward.
For any days stage where the pro's are riding a Team Time-Trial, for the days distance to be considered "complete", not only does the distance need to be done (which, is usually not much of a challenge - for instance it's 12.6km in the 2014 Vuelta.) BUT also FIVE OR MORE riders need to complete the distance individually. This ties in nicely with the actual TTT where the time is actually taken on the 5th man across the line.0 -
Have always appreciated all the hard work you put into these. Even if it is my first time in one.
Also.(And it is not really that big of a deal) I'm actually from Canada not the US. If its a big thing to update for the dossard no worries. I'll just be an honorary American.(If they will have me of course.)
lol0 -

Done.
I actually have the files in Photoshop, with all the flags on different "layers", and I'd actually dropped a maple-leaf layer in there for your dossard, then forgot to switch the 'merkin flag off, which neatly covered yours...
Anyhooo, sorted now, eh...0 -
Woohoo.
Thanks TBY0 -

It would be an honor to have you. You're welcome anytime. Honorary, visiting or otherwise.0
