I have not used Challenge for road tires, just CX use. Grifo's currently. Will try their mud tire, Limus as well. Wanting to see deep mud and running in the 20's for psi....SWEET.

maybe not DIRECTLY bike related - but I really miss a decent coffee when away from home on camping trips etc. - but a fellow caffeine addict recommended one of these, so I thought I'd better give it a try... it's got to be better than trying to keep a Bialetti Pot going on a Trangia Stove.

My Timex Run Trainer Broke. Starting to be thinking about Tris anyway. . . this is leaving me with fewer excuses:

The bike mount works great, too. I've retired the Garmin Edge 305. . . well, semi-retired.

    Very, Very, Veery Nice...

I've a bit of a soft spot for Italian Bikes (well, pretty much all things Italian apart from the thick Black Moustaches (even on the blokes  ) and I have to admit that a Wilier has been on my "to get" list for a while now, along with a DeRosa... (I've already done the Bianchi, Pinarello and Colnago in the past, so they are the last two of the Italian "Big Five") ...problem is I'm still too fat for Campag's weight limits (well - mainly the wheels - 95kg iirc), and my OCD would twitch like crazy if I built either marque with anything other than Record...

That's B-b-b-b-b- BAD to the bone!! I really like the style of those Wilier bikes. I felt too stretched out on them when I tried a couple but have lost a lot of weight and gained some flexibility since then so may have to have another look. I think my n needs another plus 1

I think I suit italian bikes tbh... they mostly do have longer TopTubes and reach for a given size frame... which suits me as i've a long body and short legs.

When I went for a bike fit years ago, the guy measured me up and said.. "okay, you're 1m84, but if you're legs were in proportional length to the rest of you, you'd be 2m0" - frankly I'm rather glad I'm not. I break enough things as it is...

After a lot of testing, the Prologo Scratch Pro Ti 1.4 has made the cut........ until something better comes along

It is very comfortable on long rides, 80+ miles, no chafing or sore spots at all. The only thing I don't like about it is extended riding in the drops. It just isn't designed to be ridden for any length of time on the rivet. My Arione is perfect for that so i'll be keeping it handy for TT days.

As a bonus it only cost $66 so a real bargain too!! Happy bum = happy cyclist

I missed this announcement - how you getting on with it, Cloggsy? My Garmin Edge 800 was one of the best investments I ever made - but of course I want the 810 now - for no reason whatsoever except I'm a gadget geek and it has one or two little extra features, haha!

As promised, a review of the Sidi Genius 6.6 Mega Vent Carbon shoes.

If you have wide feet, choices for cycling shoes are quite limited. Most shoes are quite narrow and a tight fit, especially around the ball area of your foot, can very often lead to hot foot syndrome which is very painful. Your feet swell during cycling by half a size if not more so it's essential to get a shoe that fits correctly, not t mention orthotics but that;s a different matter entirely.

Fortunately Sidi offers it's Mega range of shoes for those of us in the Bigfoot camp (I'm a 46 EEE) Sidi are well known as a top shoe manufacturer and the shoe is beautifully made and most importantly is SO comfortable. The 6.6 Vent Carbon has a vent that can be opened for summer riding and closed to keep your toes toasty in the winter. I thought this might be a bit of a gimmick but I have to say it works very well indeed. I can feel cool air flowing through the shoe, especially on fast descents and it is most welcome here where 30-35C daytime temps are de riguer.

For long rides, your feet are like your hands and your bum, as the only contact points on the bike they must be happy or you suffer. These shoes have been one of the best things I've ever purchased for riding. Only thing I'm not wild about is that they are a bit blingy looking, which is not really my style. Highly recommended!!

Bought a pair of Bontrager Race Bibs Thursday night. The LBS owner was really working me to buy the ASOS Bibs but at ther ate i am losing weight I figured 300.00 on shorts that might get me 6-8 weeks before replacement was a bit silly. Had a quick ride wearing them and they felt great. Keep in mind this is my first cycling shorts ever.

46EEE and they fit? I'll have to look into that. I'm a 43EE and I have a hard time with most pairs of SIDI shoes since they tend to be narrow. My current Giro shoes are wider but the vent in these would be really nice.
