I've mostly been lurking on this thread for the last little bit.
Today I'm home with a feverish 4 year old. We are marathoning Disney movies that are older than he is--so far Mulan and The Incredibles. He hasn't seen either before, so he's totally entranced. Made him a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch. But he's just picking the cheese & bacon out of the middle...
"I'll Make A Man Out Of You" is a great lifting song.

He's usually a carb fiend (and he's such a fussy eater right now that I feed him what he will eat). Found out that he's actually got tonsillitis which explains why he wouldn't eat the bread--I imagine it hurt!

It's Wednesday!!
Halfway through the week, I'm still moving and I haven't strangled any co-workers! I'm calling this a success!
Got on the scale this morning and it's up to 119.8 but I've still wading my way through shark week so I'm not freaking out. I've also been using my little weights and getting my exercise along with my circuit training. My arms definitely are feeling the burn and I swear I see my muscles there too! Just gotta ditch the fat wings I e got flopping around there.
My first round of starting Keto I was lucky and didn't have much of the flu effects. Since the Doritos incident I have been having a few. Last couple of days I suffered the lack of energy and last night.... How many times my legs cramped up was crazy! Definitely messed with my wee bit of sleep I manage.
I plan to make up my GGMS this morning in hopes that I can correct this issue.
Still pushing for my goal of 12k steps today. I hit it yesterday just have to stay mindful about it.1 -
Guess today will have to be WTF Wednesday!!
Wrote my normal long morning post and hit post.... It disappeared! Sigh.
Long post short....
Weight was up but still wading through shark week. Meh.
Keto flu symptoms strike! Tiredness and leg cramps! Ouch!
Still working on 12 k steps a day! Doing great so far!
Exercise switch up is going well, can now see muscle in my biceps! Just need to get rid of the wing fat!
Need more coffee....
Have a great day!2 -
@ProCoffeenator I'm on day 9 of restarting Keto and I have been hitting the sodium hard, so I haven't suffered any leg cramps. Be friends with salt today and I'm sure you'll feel better. I'm hoping I don't have any WTF moments today, but if I do I'll think of you!0

I've never really suffered from the keto flu symptoms. Until yesterday... I over-exercised yesterday and was having an *a-hem* intimate bedroom time with the husband when all of a sudden HOLY COW my foot cramped up so bad!! I jumped out of bed and yelled, "be right back honey! Gotta go drink some pickle juice"8

Accidentally glutened myself. After 2 days of hugging the toilet I think I am ready to face the world again. Piece of advice. If you are feeling sick, avoid celery. The second time you see it, is just not nice.1

Hubby stayed home with the kids today. The toddler has hand-foot-and-mouth while my 4 year old has tonsillitis.
Pretty sure my husband also has hand-foot-and mouth. He was miserable all day complete with vomiting and pounding headache. He went to bed at 5, basically as soon as I got home from work. I feel like the kids ate a lot of cheerios and watched a lot of t.v. today...0 -
What is hand-foot-and-mouth?

It's Thank goodness the week is almost over Thursday!!
I'm surviving this week by a thread!!
Most of my goals have gone to pot but I've been able to keep up on my steps and eating. Stress is winning out on everything else. I'm carrying all my stress on my back right between my shoulders. Leading to a lovely knot/muscle tension that is now bothering my neck. I've also been coming home eating dinner then passing out in bed while getting my son to sleep.
It's the first week of school but we are still following our summer schedule since we service multiple schools in the area and still have older kids that don't go back to school till next Tuesday after the holiday. My class of three year olds jumped from 16 to 26! So not only are we getting the room back to order but we are also training a third person in the room.
We will survive!2 -
Let me just vent for a minute: There are still 4 hours until my blood draw and dammit, I'm hungry and lacking in caffeination. Grump, grump, grump.1

I feel for you.1

I had some Chinese food last night for the first time in a long time, and I hadn't even left the restaurant before I felt like my guts had turned into a big balloon. I didn't even eat much! Mostly meat, but a bit of chow mein too. I had a whopper headache after dinner as well, that no meds seemed able to conquer. It kept me up most of the night, seems to be gone now but I'm still up...I think I got maybe two hours of sleep.
We're headed out on the road today, so I'll probably be sleeping in the car a lot.0 -

Yup, this! Husband and older son look like they have sores inside their mouths only, but the baby got a face rash and some light spotting elsewhere. They all had bad sore throats that are taking a while to clear up, but the kids went to daycare. My husband worked from home so at least he didn't use up quite so much sick time.
I am looking forward to real food soon once everyone can manage it. Although my cream of mushroom soup was good (from a can but I did half whipping cream and half water instead of using milk... and then I topped it with cheese...)0 -
Hey everyone!
It's Freaking Friday!!!!
Finally!!
Just have one day left to survive. My partner in crime is off today so it's just me and our new lady in the room. Hah my partner told everyone yesterday that I'm either going to kill someone or quit today if things don't go well. That kind of week! I'm hopeful since I peeked at the roster and I swear it only had 18 kiddos on there.
So my back/shoulder pain is still there and spreading! In my neck and slowly trying to create a headache. It's amazing though. I had my Daith pierced back in March as a last ditch effort to stop migraines and haven't had one since. I have had the phantom pressure in the base of my skull on a few occasions at times when I know I would have had one. I've got that feeling this morning. Thinking that I might take some ibuprofen to help out those poor muscles.1 -

I'm sorry to hear that. I once started having something similar. I would get intermittent pain and shoulder. I would also have my arm all the way down to my fingers become painful intermittently. And on occasion, my fingers would go numb. After months of trying to figure it out, they discovered it was thoracic outlet syndrome and did physical therapy for it.0 -
My Friday is starting out overcast. We are dealing with potential Tropical Storm fallout. I feel bad for Florida and my friends back in in South Carolina. This is not the fun three day weekend everyone wanted.
@ProCoffeenator Have you tried soaking in an Epsom Salt bath? That can usually take the edge off. I hope you feel better soon!0 -
@ProCoffeenator - Ugh, stress/tension headaches are the worst! Get through this day and treat yourself to a bubble bath or something equally relaxing, you deserve it!
Today is the first day I start putting pumpkin spice into my coffee, so we'll see how that turns out. It's not going to be the classic PSL from sBucks, but it'll be good I'm sure.
Friiiiiday... I'm so pleased it's Friday. Now to get through work with some tunes and then I'm done for the week. We have a three-day weekend thanks to Labor Day and for once we have NO plans! And I plan to keep it that way. August and September are jam-packed birthday months for us, so it'll be nice to have this breather.
Everyone have a great day!0 -
I can't wait for 7am - my dentist's office will be open and I can call for pain relief for this stupid effing tooth pain. I can't even believe how much this hurts, way out of proportion to the work that was done. I have to wonder what else is going on that they missed in there???0

LOL - "I kind of wish I had resting nice face!! I have bad RBF." - Me too I have bad RBF - I even had someone at a social occasion - almost a total stranger ask me "Why do you ALWAYS look so unhappy?" WHAT??!! I am happy person, a glass 1/2 full type of person & person that always finds the silver lining in even the most disastrous situation. I can't help it. I think it is because I have droopy eyelids. My kid brother tells me it makes me look sly. But I guess I kind of am - a sly optimist.4

So sorry for your pain...you stopped me in my tracks on the daith piercing...I've heard of that and given it some thought - for both Anna and for me as we've both had migraines since we were 7 years old...I know what I'm doing tomorrow...0 -
It's good to see what everyone's up to. Thank you again, @ProCoffeenator, for starting this thread!
On that note, my week is going well. WOE has been fine, although I haven't been logging. Yesterday, I had a long drive to the Willamette Valley to meet a Craigslist seller about an antique spinning wheel (I bought), and was just exhausted by the time I ran errands, got the tires on the Jeep rotated, and drove home. My lizard brain was demanding carb ANYTHING!! but my rational brain took over and informed me that I really just needed plain water and a 20-minute nap. I went with the nap & stayed out of the kitchen. (Yay - a huge NSV for me!)
This weekend will be a busy one for us - yard work & stuff around the house tomorrow, then camping Sunday to Monday. Stuff to do today, though, so off I go . . . .7 -
Yay Friday. Glad to have an extra day this weekend. No real plans so maybe just a lazy weekend for us!1

Happy Friday all! Been a long day today, woke up at 4am and could not get back to sleep. Haven't managed to eat much today so hoping I can hold down some pickled beetroot again today.
Why was I not aware of the side effect of eating too much beetroot?
Had THE fright today when I thought there was something wrong with my insides when I realised the toilet bowl was blood red! Holy crappola. If it was not for the fact I was already on the throne, I might have pooped my pants! Thank heavens for Google and mobile phones.
But now I am prepared! So bring it on beets!2
