TEAM THREE

Morning everyone: I had a well deserved rest last night and I'm feeling so energized.
I'll be inputting my miles/minutes in sometime today. Also I'm 2 out of 5 days with staying under calories I should be under today making it 3 days in total so far. Plus completed challenge 2 yesterday.
A quick update we are currently 6th place by a large margin and 35% to our destination, we have 4 days to complete this journey which I know we can do. COME ON TEAM 3!
Question: Any February goals?
Hope you all have a fab day x

Morning Team,
For those who are not well this week, hope you all feel better soon!
For those that are on the mend, woo hoo!
Yes, we have a way to go before getting to the finish line, but I know we can do this!
I've been following @alipsie19's lead and doing some sort of workout in the morning. I do just a mini one, 10-15 min low impact/stretching nothing crazy. It helps start my day, and adds to the minutes!
Challenge 1 completed last night, 3/5 days logging! Plan is to finish 5k/3mile walk outside on the weekend.
@change04- goal for February is keep on doing what I'm doing. Stay consistent with logging, C25K and the strength routine that I am following.2 -
I didn't get in as much exercise as I wanted to yesterday but Wednesdays I work both jobs so I am pretty tired at the end of the day. I didn't get my steps in but I managed to do the videos. I am so uncoordinated….lol.
@change04 - My February goal is at least 60,000 steps per week, lose 9.2 lbs (so that I hit wonderland), read a leadership book (I am reading 7 Habits of Highly Effective People), hug my son for 5 minutes a day, learn 2 chords on the guitar (I have been procrastinating on this goal for months), and moisturize every day.
QUESTION OF THE DAY: If you were trapped on a deserted island and could only have an unlimited supply of 5 healthy foods with you, what would they be?

Good Morning! time for school! If anyone would like to get the feel of the island on a school day watch here:\https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IyzSY10gVyI2

Just popping in to say you all are AWESOME! This morning we was on 35% and now we are on 52% to our destination. Come on Team 3!! let's kick butt and enjoy sometime at the beach and a little sightseeing would be nice
Remember it's not the coming first that counts but the taking part and completing each challenge.
@EternalTruth I'll answer that question soon need to think about this one expescially seeing that it's only 5 unlimited healthy item's3 -
Hey all! Finally have time to be back here and active now that the homework load has lightened for a bit ^-^
I hope everyone who is feeling sick or in recovery mode keeps on making progress toward getting better!
My fav snack is also definitely air popped popcorn, though sometimes when I'm feeling like a treat I'll layer on some olive oil or melted butter. My favorite peaceful moment...hmm...probably when I'm painting without any plans for the day, so I can just go at whatever speed I like. Also, my goals this month are to stay consistent with lifting to increase my muscle mass.
@skinnyjeanzbound You'll have to keep us updated on how you like your fitbit! I've been debating getting that same model, so I'd like to know if you think it's worth it.
Today was going to be a weight lifting day (I usually cycle the days I do weights vs cardio), but I'm feeling fairly bleh due to cramps, so I might just do some light cardio for a bit. We shall see.
@alipsie19 You're killin it with these routines!! My body hurts just looking at it.

@EternalTruth - My 5 healthy foods:
Salmon or some type of fish
Spinach
Almonds (dark chocolate covered preferably)
Blueberries or some other type of fruit
Popcorn
Funny thing is that I'm not trapped on an island and this is pretty much all I eat now.3 -
@EternalTruth -- My 5 foods:
asparagus
roasted red pepper hummus
boneless skinless chicken breast
pomegranate
70% cacao dark chocolate (if that's not healthy enough, then peanut butter)3 -
Evening all...
I thought I would give a status update for myself....I have journaled for 3 days so far this week and I have walked 2 miles outside.
Feeling pretty good about the week so far...3 -
I came here to announce that I had finished all three challenges this week!
As the page was loading I realized today is Thursday and not Friday for five days logging and that I have another day of work.... sigh... . But the dancing is done and so it 3+ miles this week outside in 15F weather (cold but beautiful). I only need one more day under goal with the logging.
Daily question- Peaceful relaxation, if I was being virtuous I would say walking outside with a podcasts. I do enjoy that and do it everyday, but the real answer is binge watching a whole season of TV while knitting.
5 healthy foods on an island-
Sweet potato
broccoli
pork
cheese
dark chocolate and strawberries
Not that I like the combo but needed strawberries on the list too. On the island I'll have time to pick them apart to consume separately.

@skinnyjeanzbound, thank you for pointing out that is a "real" way of running. I already knew I wasn't changing my ways a so it's nice to have the validation. At that point I am dead. D.E.A.D. but a minute of walking and my lungs start working again and I'm good to go.1

QUESTION OF THE DAY: It's time to expand the mind... what new activity/hobby would you love to learn that doesn't involve rigorous physical activity?
I am inching so close to my milestone of losing 100 lbs, just 0.8 lbs to go!
I realized I haven't been answering my own questions of the day. So new physical activity would be zip lining, peaceful moment is snuggling my son and chatting about his day, and my five foods would be raspberries, carrots, protein bars, cheese strings, and broasted chicken.
My big hike this week is going to be on Sunday which I am looking forward too even though it is going to be quite cold.
I hope you all have a truly amazing day!!!

@EternalTruth
I'm that case, I would start skydiving again. It is something that I do miss a lot.2 -
5 foods:
Wheat bread
Eggs
Chicken
Watermelon
Sweet potatoes
(It's what I eat all of the time plus my favorite fruit )
I would love to learn to sing harmony. I was actually in a singing group for 13 years but I always sang Soprano. I could only sing alto if I didn't know the song and just learned the alto part.
My mom, grandma and daughter are awesome at singing harmony but I just can't hear the notes.5 -

5 foods:
Fruits!
Nuts (Any! I'm not choosy.)
Cauliflower
Peas
Rice (Can't survive without this!)
I would love to try mountaineering or road cycling. I have never taken up physical activities as hobbies bcos I was always a little bit overweight and extremely unfit. But with my new found confidence in my physical abilities, I would like to try one of these (as soon as I recover fully, of course!)
I posted the answers before but something went wrong with the Forums page. Anyways, I did my 5K walk yesterday. It was the perfect weather, chilly but not too cold and the rain stayed away in the morning. I'm 4/5 on the under calories challenge, I should be under today as well. And I WILL get the dancing done.4 -
Morning everyone. I finished 3rd Challenge - 5/5 days of logging and under - and I survived! I love that challenge because it proves to me that I CAN do it.
Heading out for a walk this morning to finish up the 5K/3mile challenge.
Something I would like to do - I learned to play the guitar when I was 40. Took lessons for a good 5 years, even had a little band with some staff at work for a couple of years. The band folded-babies came for a couple members, and sadly one member passed away. So I would love to get another "band" started up up again. I really had fun with them, and surprisingly, we were pretty good!5 -
Hey everybody! Just checking in.
Finished challenge 2 today. Was walking outside in 40 degree weather to get in my last mile. I'm sure my neighbors thought I was a bit crazy haha. Just glad I got it completed!
Should be able to stay under calories today, which will make my 5/5 days under.
Now time to catch up on answering those questions!
New physical activity - I would love to learn to surf.
5 foods:
Brown Rice
Black Beans
Avocados
Pistachios
Dark chocolate!
Something I would like to do --- I would love to get into sewing and crocheting. I know a little bit about both, but I'd love to be pro! Maybe one day I'll be able to accomplish some of those pins on pinterest :P
Hope everyone is having a good weekend and for those who are sick, I hope you all feel better soon!
Keep staying active team!4 -
My internet is down at present hopefully I'll be up and running by Monday. Can someone please enter 90 min for Friday for me also put a 5 in challenge 3 thanks in advance also I've completed all 3 challenges,You are all doing amazingly. @shauna30 that sounds very interesting music seems to runs in the family what group was you in? Would love to hear.@Samra338 awesome job on doing the 5k walk yesterday.@enuf200 great job completing challenge 3 and @slgibbs1987 great job completing challenge 2. @alipsie19 I think with all the exercise this week you deserve a break, enjoy.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone4 -
I feel like this week was awesome and that I am back on track, finally! Hit the under calories today, did the dancing Thursday with my son (he loved it ), also spent a great deal of time outside dragging two kids around on a sled-> I envisioned myself looking like those people with straps around their waist dragging cars (I almost think that it deserves more bonus points than a general outside 5K challenge, we have very long half circle drive way when walking it both ways includes two ups and one down in one direction and reverse in the other, it was brutal but hey am happy that I got bonus calories burnt), so polished off the outdoor challenge today, and am ready to start fresh after tomorrow. crazy busy from now till the end of March-> daily decisions between being responsible adult or doing more exercise (playing with kids etc) =messy house but happy family, I suppose it keeps me from mindlessly eating. Cant win them all, so might as well do what makes us feel good !
hope you are all having as great a time as I am, BTW we made it so we can relax/celebrate for one day yay!5 -
Hi guys!
We made it!! Time to soak in the sun and do some sightseeing before we are off to our next location.
@cherie-- Life is too short to worry about a clean house. It will get dirty again (especially with kids--or in my case a dog!). Have fun and do what makes you and your family happy.
@slgibbs1987 -- I would also love to learn to surf!
@enuf200 --when I first saw today's question, the first thing that popped into my head was learning to play the guitar. When I was a teenager, one of my boyfriends tried to teach me to no avail. That's great that you learned to do it as an adult!
@EternalTruth --that's so impressive!!
@alipsie19 --wow, skydiving is one of those things I would never do. I hate even being inside an airplane--I can't imagine jumping out of one! And it's not like I dislike excitement or adventure--one of my bucket list goals is to go shark diving and I would probably try hang gliding as well--I just don't like planes.
@shauna-- I forgot about watermelon! I eat it all the time when it's in season. Hmm--not sure what I would eliminate--maybe the pomegranate? Maybe I'll just stay off of desert islands so I can have both. LOL
@PompPanda --so far I'm really liking the fitbit's functions, though admittedly, I think there's still a lot I;ve yet to discover. One thing I love is that it just "knows" what activity I've done. When I go for a walk with my dog, it logs the walk. I just finished the dance videos, and it logged it as 19 minutes of "aerobic activity." At the gym I've noticed it recognizes the elliptical but not the stationary bike, so I just log that manually. Not sure why or how it does what it does, but it's fun. The only aspect I don't love is that it's kind of big compared to my last tracker, but I'm getting used to it.
Status update: I just finished the dance videos and will complete the logging challenge today. I still have half a mile to go to complete my hike, so tomorrow Gunner gets a walk for sure!

I'm so proud of you all. We made it! I want to give a special thanks to @change04 @cherilels82 and @alipsie19 for maxing out their minutes and getting us to our destination.
Let's finish strong and get some challenge points!5 -
Way to go team 3! Sorry I was no help this week. Still on the mend. Ugh!3
-
114min 5.5mi walk around my neighborhood.
Great job everyone! For those on the mend, hope you get to feeling better soon.4
