NSV!

When I started this journey in January I bought a pair of new levis in size 33. I haven't been able to get into a 33 for 9 years probably, but it was the biggest size and I wanted a goal. Im normally a size 16/18. Anyway I've been trying them on every month as a gauge and when I first bought them I couldn't even close them. I tried them on today and I could do them up!!!!!! I definitely squeezed into them but they still closed! Anybody had a NSV recently?!

Well done! That must be a wonderful feeling. I have been at this for only 2 weeks so I don't have any victories to report yet but I am looking forward to them.2

That's awesome! Congrats and keep it up!2

Congratulations! I don't have any yet but they are coming soon1

That's great! I had a similar NSV yesterday. I had a pair of black slacks I used to wear to work but haven't been able to in months because I "out-grew" them...well I put them on just to see, and they fit again! I'm only about 3 weeks into my journey, but it feels great to see small changes already
Keep up the great work! I love this thread, I hope more and more people start posting here as the weeks go on!7 -
Great job @Zulu87 and @hannahhooter I had a similar NSV yesterday, which made me happy since I had a .4 lbs gain this week. I put on a pair of jeans I love and realized that I cannot wear any of my jeans without wearing a belt. Usually I just toss them on and go. Took five steps and had to start hiking them up and go find a belt. Scale didn't show it, but it appears the new workout routine is working!7

Congratulations!! I have an old pair of jeans I am hoping to get back into. I need to bring them from my parent's house to my new apartment so I can start trying them on as well! My most recent NSV is exercise related and happened this weekend! I am on week 5 of couch to 5k, and when I started the program, I couldn't run a quarter of a mile. But my friend begged me to run one with her this weekend. I warned her we would have to walk some of it, but it turns out I was wrong! While it was a slow pace, I ran the whole 5k!! I haven't run a mile since high school, and even then, the farthest I've ever ran was 2 miles. I was pretty excited!16

I always have had to had boots that had the extra wide calf which sometimes is hard to find. I bought a pair of regular boots this weekend that are a regular size . A small NSV but it still made me happy!

I'm now on the last hole in all my belts. Good thing I have all the belts from my skinnier days I can transition to.11

Great job @Zulu87! I had a similar NSV with my jeans too! I have about 4 pairs of jeans that are my "skinny" jeans. I haven't been able to wear them for a year now and a few days ago I was able to fit into all 4 pairs! Yes, they were tight and it was a definite struggle to get them on, but they buttoned and zipped all the way up. I was so excited!
It's great to have both scale and non-scale goals during weight loss. The variety is a great way to stay motivated and see the changes in our bodies!9 -
My sister complimented me and said I was looking good! I also got a compliment from a girl at work...I haven't seen a difference yet. But it made me smile.13

NSV Alert!
A girl I work with on a daily basis asked me if I had lost weight today it was super encouraging since I haven't seen a huge difference in myself yet. Excited to keep working hard!8 -
Today was the day to take measurements (monthly.) I have lost half an inch off my waist and 2 inches from my thighs!!10

I had my fitbit but never really met people. This is my first group, and I totally love it! But what is NSV? From what I'm reading, I'm guessing that it's noticible difference sice starting the. Work out group. I went from 2x to some of my old XL scrubs, depending on how they were made. And that made me smile big time....i was almost out of my 2x into 3x, so I'm extra happy!7

I'm pretty sure NSV stands for "Non Scale Victory" and that is definitely one! Great job and keep it up! This is my first group like this too and I've never felt better about my progress and process losing weight. Thank you everyone!2 -
Yup! Non scale victory! Sometimes it's easy to get caught up on the scale when this whole journey is way more than numbers! It helps with motivation but seeing how your hard work translates into real life feels pretty good!3

Realized my pants were falling down at work today; they used to be super tight on me!6

I hope it's not weird to post pictures, but I'm pretty excited to finally be seeing some small but noticeable changes in myself.
Keep up the great work everyone! This group has been a game changer for me and keeps me motivated, thank you!12 -

Results of last month's 30 Day Arm Challenge: Lost .5" in each arm & 1.5" in my chest!
Can't wait to see the results after April's challenge5 -
My son is 21 months old but recently I had to pull out some of my maternity clothes and start wearing them again because I had gained to much weight....well last week I finally got to put them away again. I fit back into my pre-pregnancy clothes and they are starting to get loose.
As others have mentioned I too have a couple pair of jeans from my skinnier days that are my goal to get back into. Thanks for all the inspiration here!5 -
I am wearing the first pair of pants I outgrew! Comfortably and with no muffin top!5

I've still been somewhat down about having a low weight loss week, so I decided to take my measurements (even though I planned on waiting until the end)
In one month I've lost:
2" in my chest and hips
3" in my waist
1" from my upper arms ( thank you March monthly challenge!)
And 1.5" from my thighs!
I know I'm nowhere near where I want and need to be, but seeing clear progress is really motivating, even when the scale doesn't move!6 -

My parents sent me a really fun polymer clay necklace for my birthday in September. I could get it on my neck but it was pretty tight. I just tried it on today while packing and it fits comfortably!!! This is encouraging especially since I haven't seen much weight loss the past couple weeks!7
