14 weeks and I'm honestly too scared to weigh myself lol. I guess I'll have to face the music at my next OB appointment (at 16 weeks) I'm sure a lot of the weight you've gained is just bloat, and if your pregnancy is like mine, constipation (sorry for the TMI)

Thanks! I did lose about five pounds from morning sickness at the beginning though, but it all came right back on as soon as I felt well. It's gotta be water weight/bloat. I haven't changed my calorie intake at all yet.

Now is not the time for negativity, think good thoughts!

And it looks like you are in a good healthy weight gain range, which means it is not really "your" weight, just a temporary byproduct of the process.

    Keep up the good work!

Sounds like a normal story, that morning sickness can be a real bear!

Most of what I have read encourages you to start increasing your calories a little bit once you hit the second trimester, as baby is really starting to get bigger. If you find yourself hungry and tired it might be time. Don't be afraid to up your intake if you need to, you have a good excuse ;)

If you are interested I found this post really helpful, it pretty much sums up calorie counting while pregnant and post partum, and agrees with what I have read other places.

You're in the healthy weight gain range! Totally normal.

Tracking might help you feel more in control -- by third trimester your looking at like+500 calories as compared to normal/maintenance, and marking down when you exercise feels pretty great too.

Oh man I had the opposite issue for weeks, discovered I did not have the constitution for spinach in my second trimester, and then was fine.

Edited to add.... Well in the last 12 weeks I gained 15.4 which averages out to 1.28 lbs/week. I guess not so bad? I remember in the 3rd trimester with my last pregnancy my weight gain slowed to about 0.5 to 1 lb / week.... So there's that too.

There's lots of things going on in your body, extra fluids and organ and person, the scale is only one indicator! You ate well. Victory.

P.S. check out the link someone posted above, you might even up your calories a wee bit

Agree, you are eating responsibly and doing your part. Try not to let the scale get to you! Growing a baby is not the same calorie = weight equation as putting on fat, so try to leave that mindset behind and take good care of yourself and little one.

Today the scale was down a pound. Go figure! Lol.
Last pregnancy, the OB told me the 1600-1700 range is good for me... I'm old with a slow metabolism!

Time for my weekly check-in. Thanks for all the information and encouragement last week, ladies!

This is my first pregnancy, and I am shooting for a 25-30 lb. weight gain.

    Height: 5'3"
    SW: 115

    Week 17: 116 (+1)
    Week 18: 117 (+2) (Here we go...)

As long as I average around a pound a week, I should be fine, so I'm on track so far.

I just hit the 27 week mark last Friday and have bumped up my calories by 200 (total of 500) for the third trimester - My pregnancy apps all say 28 weeks is the start of the 3rd, but I've seen other things that say 28... and by the way I feel I'm going with it being the third one already!

Yeah I can't wait to bump mine up (I lovez food). I have two apps. One says 27 and one says 28 so I ended up asking a pro lol. So starting on Friday I will bump up my calories. Though... I have been tending to go over my calories lately so I'm not really sure it's necessary to change my settings if I'm just going to do that lol.

First time the scale has gone down, probably due to my super busy weekend working on the nursery and getting my house ready for baby! No time to think much of eating. I'll make up for it I'm sure this week, lol.

LOL I feel ya - I haven't logged the past few days, but when I was I feel like I was going over by a couple hundred... so... I just upped it 0:-) so I'll probably be eating the same, but it won't look as bad.

I'm up about 11-13 pounds (depends on the day) by my scale - my OB's scale is a lying w*&$3 and always has been... so on one hand I feel like I'm doing alright... on the other I feel enormous - pretty sure this kid has doubled in size in the last day and a half...
