    Dave

Dave, Once you hit that magical number of 55, AARP will mail bomb you persistently. Like I said, I'm just a kid playing with bikes :D

@anaconda - Welcome to the club! It's not that bad after you get over the shock.

@leanz - it's sad when the kids leave - the house is awfully quiet (but clean LOL)

@clepant - I was hoping the 60s were the new 30s - could you check again?

@k80flec - congrats on the PBs! Way to go.

As for me, a "cold" front came through Florida so I did a 10 mile tempo run today. I didn't run all last week between my husband being away leaving me on dog walking duty and it being as hot and humid as a steam bath outside. I was pleased with how it was going until the 9th mile when I think the heat got me (it's 73F). I had to slow down but still finished at a respectable pace. The timing wasn't great though because tonight I'm doing the group 12 mile bike ride. I think I'm going to be tired!

@Janet: To be honest, I think I am in better health in my 60's than I ever was in my 30's, 40's or 50's. And if my student hadn't taken out my knee the day after my 60th birthday, I would be running better.
But in truth, I ran my very first race, a sprint triathlon at 59 3/4. I ran three half marathons, three 10 milers, another triathlon and numerous 5 and 10K's all after I turned 60. I think that is pretty amazing and I think you do some impressive things as well as Anaconda. We are not getting older, we a are getting better.

April 8: Adding 13.5 miles of walking 3.5 miles and 10 miles cycling.
    TTD: 105.5 miles

Just dropping in to say I don't know when I will get some miles added. I had a BAD nightmare last Wed & I threw my leg over the edge of the bed & twisted my knee while in panic. Still painful to put full weight on. I think my grandsons love it cuz now nana can't catch them!!!
I think spring has finally found us. It hit 80 yesterday & today was upper 60's. So wished I could take my fur kids for some much needed exercise!!

Thanks @scarfe9991 - NZ races are fairly low key - no medal and no prize - just satisfaction

@vhuber I do hope that knee improves quickly - but give it the time it needs! Knees are important :)

Congrats to Leanz on placing 2nd! And thanks to scarfe for sorting me out LOL! (clearly my brain isn't 30)

@vhuber - oh no about the knee. Unfortunately that was one nightmare that didn't end when you woke :'(

@clepant - you are such an inspiration!

As for me, I was pretty tired after my tempo run yesterday. Garmin's effort scale placed me at 4.8 out of 5, with 5 being overreaching. I guess that was why I was so beat that last mile. But despite being tired, I fueled up and went for a 15 mile bike ride with my night riding cycling group. I was joking I should take a swim when I got home to finish the triathlon. Then this morning, I got up and rode my bike to church. We have the Vice President visiting here and I was worried the usual horrible Easter vacation traffic would be tied up worse than ever. So I've logged some serious miles the last two days putting me at 51/75.
