Aaaaaaaand we're back! Come join us this August for some much needed support and accountability! We're a friendly bunch and new people keep joining which is fab!
Back from the hen weekend. Was 167.8lbs this morning so am very pleased to not have put on any weight. Absolutely shattered, but looking forward to getting back on it. It's a Knockout was an absolute hoot, my arms and shoulders ache, we danced a lot, and had a fabulous time! I'm beyond tired though and am at work wishing I'd taken the day off.
This month is the wedding (12th) and we're going for a 4 day break because it's a 5 hour drive from us. Other than that I am feeling positive after not putting on weight this weekend, so have decided to go with an aggressive goal of 163lbs.
Height: 5'10"
HW: 183lbs
SW August: 168lbs (last July weigh in)
Ultimate goal: Currently 160lbs but will revise when I get there.
August goal: 163lbs
Body fat goal for August: Sub 26.5%
26th April: 179.4lbs - Body fat: 29.6%
31st May: 173lbs – Body fat: 28.2%

Fantastic starting post.
I'm back from my holidays and have gained 3lbs in a week, which I'm fine about I enjoyed myself and ate and drank what I wanted pretty much.
My goal for this month is 136, which sounds like a lot, but am hoping the holiday weight will go soon.
31st July 141lbs

August 1 will be three weeks on MFP for me. I blew it out 2/3 weekends on vacation and a mandatory work event, but still managed to lose probably 1 real lb and about 2 lbs of water weight.
Height: 5'5"
SW: 142.6
CW: 140.0
GW: 132.0
This month, my goals are:
1. Complete all 10 days of the 30 Day Shred workout 2;
2. Figure out a routine to start lifting heavy with just dumbbells and a bench, because my apartment gym is a dinky shitbox; and
3. Get down to 138 lbs.6 -
Hi all, I'd like to join. I've been off and on MFP for a couple years now. I'm currently sitting around 160 and would like to get down to 150. Every since turning 40, 4 years ago it has been quite the battle to lose weight! In Feb. I joined Burn Boot camp so def. feel like I've been toning over the past couple of months, feeling pretty good but still have gotten consistent about my eating and drinking so really trying to get that under control this August! Look forward to catching up with you all this month!
Oh and I'm 5'7"7 -
Hi everyone! I'm new to the group. I was overweight/obese for most of my 20's. At 30 I got serious and lost 50 lbs. I'm 35 now and some of the weight has crept back up (I also had baby #2 nearly 2 years ago). I started WW online a few months ago (which is how I lost weight before) but my way of eating has changed from processed, artificially sweetened foods to cleaner/whole choices. So I decided to start tracking on MFP and join the community. I feel like this is a good group for me, because I'm not looking to lose 100+ lbs. I'd like to lose about 20. I'm also training for my 1st half marathon, so I just want to be a little leaner and stronger for that.
Height 5'6"
SW: 173
CW: 173
GW: 150
August Goal: 165 (it's a stretch, but I think I'm carrying a few extra water lbs from the weekend).
How? Stick to my half marathon training plan (2 shorter runs a week, 1 long run, and strength train 2x's per week), stick to my calorie goal on MFP and start paying more attention to macros.
Side note: if anyone has advice on what my macro goals should be (right now it's just the 50/30/20 split that MFP automatically gives), that would be much appreciated6 -
I would like to join. I have fallen off the wagon big time and need to get my mind right. I have a cruise planned in November and would love to have hit my goal and maintained it before then.

What a great idea!
My stats:
5 ft 8 inches
Current Weight: 147.6
Goal Weight: 130
August weight loss goal to: 145.0
My plan is to pre plan my meals and post them on MFP before eating them. Also, to resume working out one hour a day at the gym, in addition to 10k steps per day (or more.)
Finally, I really need to focus on better sleep habits.4 -
So I've been "on" and "off" good habits. Time to try "on" again.
My Stats:
5'8"
Current Weight: 191.4 (also Heaviest)
Goal Weight: 160
August Weight Loss: 180
I've been better at meal prep (but not quite food choices), adding in daily work outs (I'm training for a triathlon but am failing to find the motivation to wake up in the morning), and I'm going to talk to a dietician about some of my habits. Posting on here, hopefully, and getting enough sleep at night.5 -
I've has a bit of a setback but tomorrow starts a new month!
Height: 5'10"
Current weight: 182.2
Goal weight for August 31: 1775 -
Welcome to all you newbies, there's so many of you! All very attainable goals too. Good luck!
@WallyAmadeus Are you having rest days or literally going to the gym every day?

Hello Everyone,
I am new to the group. I have gained 30 lbs during the past 2 1/2 years and wanting to lose with exercise and better food choices. I'm exciting to share our journeys and feedback from everyone. My food choices and exercising have been inconsistent and up and down. I'm willing to try some exercise and or food choice challenges.

Weighing in today simply because I'm going out for dinner tonight and the salt will mess me up. Plus I've been averaging the same all week (140.2lbs-140.8lbs) so I don't think there would be much change.
5'11.5
Highest Weight: 220lbs.
Start Weight: 212lbs
Current weight: 140.6lbs.
August Goal: Mini bulk to try and get back up to 142 at least.
Ultimate Goal: 145lbs
Last July weight: 141.8lbs.
August 1st: 140.6lbs.6 -
For those who measure body fat - how do you get those measurements? Thanks!1

Hi everyone! I am new to the group... please add me if you like! We can keep each other accountable I have just recently (started last monday) waking up every morning at 5:30am to sneak in a 40 min workout before heading off to my 8-4 job.

Highest Weight: 149lbs
Start Weight: 135lbs
Current Weight: 126 lbs
Ultimate Goal Weight: 110 lbs

Struggles: not many. I did have Thai food on Sunday which bumped my number up due to sodium.
Successes: I had a great in yesterday and I have planned all meals for week
Upcoming week plan: Continue C210k and follow the program. 3 treadmill runs, 3 outdoor runs and complete inc all challenges. Eating the meal plan and cutting out the snacks. Getting that last fluff off before my travels next week. Nose to the grindstone.
I think the greatest thing about this check in are all the ladies. Seeing the progress/ struggles lets me know I am not alone in this. It can be a very isolating experience but knowing I have you all in my corner has been the greatest gift. Thank you all.4 -
For those who measure body fat - how do you get those measurements? Thanks!
I have scales that include a BF% reading. They are not known to be particularly accurate, but as long as you keep using the same scales then it at least gives an indication of whether BF is going up or down.3 -
Re: Daily gym. My routines vary: Free weights alternating days, and the other days are cardio/yoga. I like routine and making a commitment to going to the gym daily, helps me build a strong exercise habit. Also, I am a chronic insomniac, and without a daily gym session, I can't sleep.1
-
Do beware that your body needs actual rest days to recover. You're sensible by alternating cardio/weights, but a full day off (or two) is immensely important for your muscles to recover.2

glassofroses amazing work on your weight loss! when did your journey start?
So far so good, Monday was a good eating day and Tuesday is starting off the same. I did have a glass of wine last night but had leftover calories so no biggie but I slept like crap. Going to try and avoid it for the next few nights and see how I feel. I turned 44 in June and can feel the changes :-) I also workout 4-5 days a week. I joined Burn Boot Camp which is big here in NC. Love that place! On days I don't do a camp I'll run or just take the day off! Happy Tuesday all! Have a great day!
Oh and as far as Body Fat my gym does it for me.1 -
Hi Everyone,
I am new to the group! My current weight is 137. I am here because I would like to tone and build lean muscle so my goal is more body fat percentage based than weight based, I know I may gain some weight weight lifting as well. My body fat percentage goal is 22%-24%.

Hi everyone!
Started in July accountability, and continuing into August! Definitely ready to set some new goals.
Height: 5'5"
HW: 68.8kg
SW: 63.8 kg (last June weigh in)
GW: 63-65 kg
08/01: 63.4 kg
I'm pretty much on maintenance now (even though I didn't quite reach my last GW of 63.1). But I want to focus on building lean muscle and being more consistent with logging my meals! Whether I gain a bit or lose a bit is not a big deal now as long as I see the results!2 -
How many days of cardio and strengthening per week?0

wrinkadoodle4 wrote: »How many days of cardio and strengthening per week?
I was down for the count for about 8 days so I need to work my way back up to normal, but my goal is to do 3 days of light cardio and 3-4 days of strength training ( I usually do light cardio on the same days I do strength training) either weights or pop Pilates. And I'm going to start doing trail running again!1 -
Last time I tried to get into MFP I just kind of faded out after a couple of weeks. This time I am going to set some goals and keep track of progress a little better.
Height: 5'6"
HW: 145 lbs
SW: 145 lbs (August 1st)
GW: 140 lbs
UGW: 130 lbs
I also started a C25K program and want to stick to the 3 days a week of that plan.

Ah yes, this is a long and sordid tale with regain and crying in Parisian hotel rooms, , but I joined in June 2015. I made a lot of mistakes, I fixed a lot of mistakes and now I'm pretty happy with my lot.
I ended up with the most enormous piece of fish for dinner tonight. I will never understand why restaurants give you so much food. Did they really think I was going to eat all of that? It's one of the few traits I missed about myself as a teenager. I would always eat exactly what I wanted and leave the rest and I felt no guilt about it in the slightest. Got into the habit of finishing everything at university because a) food is expensive and b) people made fun of me for only being able to eat half a pizza. But I've reclaimed the better of the two habits and I'm sticking to it.6 -
Hi. I was in a hospital last month for a week. When I got out I did a lot of stress eating. I gained ten pounds in a little over two weeks! Before this, I was maintaining at 150-155 for quite a few months. I would love to be in the 120-130s.
Weightloss has been a long journey for me. I began losing weight, and became pregnant. After having my first baby I lost a little weight, but became pregnant again. I then had my next child, and have been losing weight ever since. I hope joining this group gives me some much needed motivation to stay on track!
I would like to reach 155 by the end of this month. I realize that sounds like a lot, but I find it nearly impossible to believe I really weigh 165 right now. Half of that has to be water retention. There's no way I gained a whole ten pounds of just fat. Anyways-

Happy Wednesday! Seem to have some minor injuries: plantar fasciitis in my left heel, and a somewhat numb little toe on my right foot. I really want to go for a run but will hold off until both feel a bit more normal. Still, 1.2lbs off since last week, which given the alcohol, carbs and fat at the weekend (3:30am munchies) I'm ecstatic about!
So many newbies! C25K is brilliant, such a good programme @realsammysalamander! Don't worry if sometimes you don't get all three runs in to one week. I sometimes couldn't manage it time wise, but see the weeks as sections rather than a fixed period of time.
@onewayoranother23, you should be fine soon as soon as you can get to exercising and sensible eating again. I hope you are recovering well.
@Fitnessgirl0913 What is your current BF% and how do you measure it?
@evergreenlake Take it easy for now, but well done for getting to maintenance. Fab achievement!

Hi all, I'm new here.
My stats
Height 154cm (5'1)
Starting weight June 2017 : 52kg
Actual weight: 49.2 kg
Goal by September/October : reach 46-47kg , build lean muscles and increase my endurance
My plan is to continue doing what I'm doing right now (Running 3X a week, rope skipping and some strength training at home) and I'm hoping I'll stay motivated.
Feel free to add me, I find following others' progress helpful to keep my motivation.5
