:# Had to run to sprouts this morning to pick up beets. Adding to my orange carrot for tomorrow. Anyone have tips on juicing beets.

Page 157 the reboot with joe book. I bought organic but the stems were off. Great micronutrients going on in juicing.

All fruits and veggies filled with micro nutrients eat blend or juice or combination of all three. Just get them into your body is all we have to do. <3B)

Bed time I did have yogurt. Not SB approved.

I made four quarts of juice after work. Will last two days plus Thursday morning.

Going to add smoothies to the mix. Mainly cuz of the cost. Lots cheaper than juicing. And time. Juicing takes a major time commitment . Wow

With smoothies will you do fruit and vegetables and something like flax seeds or some other protein/fat? Walmart has a great price on a BIG container of flax seeds.

Dr. A. love flax seeds for the Omegas.

    Today will look like this:

    joes sunrise
    ak mak and laughing cow
    dave's killer sam the usual
    joe's mean green
    salmon and asparagus
    popcorn, yogurt* and tea

I think that's right...it's in my diary. Changes have to be sustainable. I like that these are foods I love and can eat forever. Why would I put something in my menu that I am not going to keep there for the long run. Makes no sense to me.

    HAGDE.

    SMOOTHIES BY THURSDAY.

This brand of yogurt is not SB approved. NOOSA. But I have always been looking for a dessert ... I tried that Halo Top stuff. I ate too much and the ingredients were not great. If I can keep the amount of this yogurt to ONE four ounce a day...I will be happy with that. I used to eat only FAGE...but lately it just sits in the fridge and goes bad. What good is that?

All I can say is try the apple and holycowsmile.gif ...amazing.

    Hi All,
I've never tried juicing. I would like watch the documentary to help keep me motivated to eat healthy.
Sorry i've been gone. My husband broke his hip Saturday, so i've been little busy. i did end up cheating, just too much stress and running around and not having 'my food' around. I still ended up losing. So i'm down 11 lbs.
Back at since yesterday and it wasn't all the meals cheating, just one a day that wasn't the best choices, but i just couldn't deal with thinking about food.

I've never had a juicer, so no tips on how to juice beets. I have a nutribullet. I like it. I'm with Sabine, i like the fiber. I like that idea that i'm getting all of the fruit/vegetable.

Very sorry to hear about your DH, VK. How the heck did that happen?

You are back at it...and just keep on with what works for you. Detours happen.

I have been at this weight loss game since 2003. I like shaking things up a bit that are within reason and seem to go along with my personal philosophy on eating.

Plant based, lean proteins, bean, seeds, nuts...healthy fats. All that. I do need to put a few things in there that might be a bit off...(like the brand of yogurt I have chosen)...but it keeps me good on everything else.

I love juicing. It just takes a whole lotta time ... and with my job (receptionist), just not able to at this time (bathroom breaks are limited). When I go on vacation for five days...will do a ten day...start on my last Friday before weekend.

BTW, I juiced the beets...I did peel them first. And I wore gloves.

    Later, mates. HAGDE!

    Thanks! Will look for it.

October 2010 I bought my Vitamix for the exclusive purpose of making green smoothies. Bought books by Victoria Boutenko Totally sold on the idea and still am!

I think the only other thing I have used my vitamix for in 7 years is green smoothies and cauliflower soup from the SB cookbook.

HOWEVER, I watched sick fat and nealy dead in 2015 and man, was that an eye opener. Beyond excited to meet Joe at a barnes and noble book signing and hear him in person. And have my pic taken with him. I had been juicing in the late 90's...was about 120 -125...rode the bike 60 min a morning and life was good...full time teaching job. Then dx with bone cancer June 19, 1998. Pretty sure my body was ready to deal with the chemo, radiation and surgery because I was in such good health.

Fast forward to now...I am using everything I have learned to continue to live a healthy, strong life. 69 October 13. I believe I am doing pretty darn good. Goodness, as each year passes, I say I want to live another 30. I am now up to 99. But that means, being totally independent and having a great time in those "up there" years.

I do not think just one thing works. I think smoothies, juicing, eating...all work together.

I <3 loads and loads of fruits and veggies. Beginning to really crave them at night since I started this latest juicing kick.

Magic, is the value of juicing evidence-based? I seem to recall reading somewhere that it wasn't really healthy, though smoothies made with fruits and veggies (and no added sugar) were.

Anyway, I'm sticking to SB. I feel better than I have in years.

    Today:

Br: V8, All-Bran Bran Buds, banana, skim milk
Lu: spinach salad with hummus and clementine, ak mak crackers
    Sn: apple/skim mozzarella stick
Di: mixed green salad with Bolthouse dressing, chicken lentil stew, veggie TBD, Dave's killer thin bread slice, pistachios

Oh, and I walk Daisy every morning 45 minutes to an hour, after lunch 20-30 minutes, and after supper 40 minutes. I know I should add weight training to my regimen, but I can't seem to get myself to do it ;) / ;).

    Today's Menu:

Store Bought Bolthouse Carrot Juice. UGH...no comparison to the fresh I make...never again.

1 oz almonds...roasted no salt. I use food scale. Have since I started on SB June 16 2008 (yes, I remember the date...I was part of the on line group and was chosen to speak to Dr. A live on a conference call after I had lost 40 pounds...they did away with the online group years ago...it was amazing).

Dave's Killer Bread two slices sammy with turkey and cheese

    Noosa blueberry yogurt

    HOMEMADE Joe's Mean Green Juice

Salmon and salad...evoo and lemon dressing 1/2 & 1/2 greens and spinach, avocado, beans, broccoli, pico

    popcorn and tea.

Best of luck with your work today, Sabine.

In which supermarket aisle do you find Kellogg's crustless quiche? Is it frozen foods?
