Happy first day of 2018 everyone!
Does anyone have any goals for the new year?
I've decided among other goals to become more productive this year! So today my husband and I are painting our bedroom! Im also meal prepping my lunches for the entire week, going to the gym and taking the dog for a walk! In between all of that I hope to get my house clean and all of our Laundry done.
I made quite a few goals for this new year and im so excited to meet every single one of them. How about you guys?5 -
Blessings!
I was supposed to record my weigh in for Sunday and was having connectivity issues. I hope it’s not too late.

Happy New Year everyone.. 49 year old from Canada. Going to turn 50 this year so I'm hoping to start my fifties in better shape than my forties .
I recently did a Biggest Loser challenge at my work and it kept me accountable.. so hoping this challenge will be the same..
Cheers everyone and best of luck to all.3 -

hello everyone, I have just joined the team!
I am Kim. I am 41 yrs old. I have 2 kids, 17 and 7. I am a Florida native. I started my weight loss challenge on Sept. 1st of 2017. I have had a lot of ups and downs. I get focused and serious about losing the weight and then I let life pull me off the wagon, but I continuously get up and dust myself off and try again. I work full time as a nurses aide and love my job. I also participate in the Girl Scouts with my 7 yr old. I help lead a troop of about 40 girls all different ages. Thankfully they are not all at the same level in girl scouts!! I guess I am at that age where I want to be more healthy and active. I feel age taking its course on my body and want to feel young again and losing weight is the key to feeling young, right? !!!3 -

January week 1
Monday
previous weight: 150.3
todays weight: 153.3
Ugh!!! I believe I've let the holidays get the best of me. Hopefully it comes off as quick as it came on, but it usually doesn't work that way. Sadly, I am almost back to the weight I was a year ago. Maybe this is the incentive I need to move my tail!!! Looking for a good number next week!!
Hang in there, this is just the first week. Holidays are hard to get through and the cold weather doesn't help either.1 -

Hello and welcome, I am going to be 43 this year and have always heard, when you hit your 40s everything goes down hill. I like your answer better, losing weight to feel younger.0 -
64 ounces of water...DONE!
This mini challenge is great because I tend to drink way less of any fluids during winter.5 -
Happy New Year everyone, hope everyone had a safe and blessed one. I spent the evening with family and friends playing games. Since some of my family live in OH, we brought 2018 in twice. Oh I guess I should mention I live in TN lol.
Great to see so many new teammates and welcome back @WA_Teacher . I posted earlier, I would love to do a mini challenge once a week and also keep the one we are.doing to the next one. For example, this week we are keeping track of how much water we are drinking a day, so next week keep that going and then add another mini challenge having to deal with exercise. What does everybody think?
I have drank 64 oz plus. Have a blessed night.3 -
I think adding an exercise mini challenge next week would be great! I know with this cold weather some of us are experiencing is keeping some people indoors so maybe something easily done in our home?
(By the way I’m in southeast Texas by the coast and it’s in the 20’s! It’s hardly ever this cold. Usually if it’s a cold winter, it’s in the 40’s for us! This weather is a stinker!)5 -
@shawna357 I think that is a great idea!! I always try to keep my water intake up but I’m not always successful! Maybe this will help me! And I am very lazy when it comes to exercise. I always have an excuse why I shouldn’t exercise or can’t!2

Woohoo everyone is doing great with the water challenge! Excellent job Team!2

Any one have any suggestions for what Mini exercise challenge they would like?4 -
My pitch for the exercise challenge would be to do at a plank, once a day. I'm suggesting to hold it for one minute (doesn't sound that long but it is tough)

Looking forward to the new year. Now that the holidays are over, Goal weight loss for this month is 15lbs.3 -
With all the water we are drinking this week, I suggest the unfortunately named potty squats. Do 5-10 squats every time you use the bathroom....easy to do indoors and if you do them quickly enough it will boost your heart rate for a few.6

I like @NationalCapital 's idea of planks, it's a great "all over" exercise, arms/chest/abs/butt etc. You can also do modified planks, if you aren't able to do the full plank yet. Could be a goal to work towards, see if by the end of the week if you can hold the full minute!
I love this weeks theme of drinking more water, that is one area I really struggle in! So far I've got 16 oz in! I have more catching up to do today lol2 -

This week, we will see how it goes. I'm taking a week off the gym because my body is pretty beat up right now from going hard in the gym 6 days a week since Oct. I'm gonna try to let some nagging issues heal up so I can get back to it next week. Also, I have a work conference out of state this Thursday-Sunday...so it will be interesting to see where I'm at next week. Still gonna track food and try to stay at my calorie goal (which is a 1000 calorie deficit). I hope everyone has a great week!5 -

I LOVE potty squats!! I do them while I am at work. With drinking more water you get more squats in. I vary the type of squat (regular, ballet (on toes), wide leg) just to keep it interesting. On days when my legs are worn out I do wall push ups to keep moving.3 -

Weigh in week....Jan. Week 1
Weigh in day......Tuesday
Previous weight..190.1 lbs
Today's weight...194.4lbs
Last year I lost 52 lbs but regained 4 lbs. I am now more motivated than ever to lose the last 15-20 lbs to reach my final goal by the end of June. These are my plans in order to accomplish my goal.
1) Continue with daily logging. ( This has given me the greatest incentive to my success) Day streak is now 1963
2) Exercise 3-5 days a week. Take a class in yoga and incorporate strength training with my exercise routine.
3)Eat 3-6 fruits and veges daily.
4) Drink 6-8 glasses of water daily. No sodas, juices or alcohol beverages
5) Cut down on snacking.( This is my biggest downfall)
6) Take body measurements every 2 months.
I know I can do it!

8 cups of water again today4

@Lesscookies1 glad to see you again this month.
@NationalCapital we are on the same wavelength. I was going to suggest we do a exercise we are not to fond of for the week and post which one. Plank is one of mine but I think that would be a great mini challenge to see who can do one for a minute.
@eyer0ll love the squatty potty exercise as well. So if we all agreed to keep the water challenge with our exercise mini challenge then we could do those and a one minute plank. What's everybody think?
@bisonpitcher I think taking a break is smart. I have always been told to listen to my body so I don't overdue it and hurt myself. Be safe on your travels.
@12774 Awesome dedication to logging and great goal.
Well I am slowly getting back into the swing of things. Trying to get the goodies out of my house from the holidays, so tonight is leftover night lol. I will probably not start logging my food until next week. I have to get back to that because it helped me stay on track be mindful of what I put in my mouth and help me keep track of my sodium, fat, and sugar intake. I did do Zumba this evening and have to left feet but since I am in the privacy of my own home, I can work on that.
Thank you to everyone posting their water intake and being active on the thread. It helps and encourages more than you know. I have drank 64oz. Hope everyone has a blessed evening.

Hi all! I just got in the challenge and assigned to your team.
I am a 37 years old nurse practitioner, a mother to 2 boys ( 18 months old and 3 years old).. they keep me busy!!
I always put everyone else first but in 2018 I want to take time for me... I love to run so I try to go 3-4 times a week, mostly at night once the kiddos are asleep and daddy home to watch over. Working full time is not easy.
I have lost all the pregnancy weight but have a good 60 lbs to lose to get back to my goal weight.
Question for the captain: my WI day is on Mondays... so I guess I will post on next Monday? And my SW counts as week 1?
Thanks!4 -
Has anyone ever tried the apple cider vinegar drink for weight loss?3
