Welcome all UAC March 2018 members!
Some of you have been with this challenge for months and some are brand new. I can tell you that it is one of the hardest challenges to stay with throughout the entire month. FOCUS, FOCUS, FOCUS!! Log every BLT (Bite, Lick, Taste). Stay strong and true to yourself....YOU WILL SUCCEED!!
Please feel free to share as much information as you feel comfortable sharing about yourself with the rest of the group. I look forward to getting to know all of you a little better. GOOD LUCK!

Hi my name is Teresa and I'm an obese woman who is sick and tired of being obese. FAT IS NOT BEAUTIFUL.
I'm 53 years old and have been in a depressing marriage for 25 years and so I turned to food as a comfort. DUMB! Anyway I have been using MFP solidly for a week now and logging everything but know that I need accountability so when I saw this group I jumped in. Logging faithfully for the past week made me VERY aware of what I was ordering when I went out to lunch today with a friend. My son is 24 and I realized he is going to get married within the next 5-10 years or less and I don't want to be the obese Mother of the Groom. Yuck!5 -

Welcome to the group and the journey. You can do this!1 -
Hi! My name is Carol. March will be my fourth month with the UAC Challenge. I continue to be delighted by the enthusiasm and commitment of this group to a healthy lifestyle. The members of this challenge are in various stages of their nutrition, exercise and weight loss goals. What I appreciate most is that everyone is welcome to participate whether they are attempting to lose weight, maintain weight, or gain weight…with the emphasis being on healthy exercise, nutrition and logging. The rules are clear and concise; and the objective is a desire for everyone to succeed with positive encouragement and results.
I make an attempt to read all posts on a daily basis and offer my encouragement be it a “like,” “hug,” or simply a supportive comment. I also appreciate that @RangerRickL is an engaged leader for this monthly challenge with daily posts of interest engaging UAC participants into the “virtual” discussion.
Thank you for continuing the challenge in March, or joining us should this be your first time as a participant. Welcome to the group!

I'm new to this group - a friend suggested it as it's more active than others I gather. Looking forward to a little more online activity and support!5

I'm Liselyn back for a second month. This group has been a wonderful discovery - not too large, simple rules, effective! I've got other members in my head whenever I reach for extra nibbles or feel like slacking on getting off the chair and working some muscles. Welcome to everyone - let's enjoy being in each other's heads.
I live in Quebec, in the woods, I'm a musician now retired from a full time university position. It's wonderful spending more time practicing,
being outside, and with the horses I share with my daughter. Playing playing and playing! I'm maintaining a 35 pound weight loss and don't ever want those pounds back.6 -
I'm looking forward to returning for the March Challenge. After a few previous attempts, February is the first month that I may make it to the end of the challenge! I live in Georgia, USA and am presently enjoying some unseasonably warm temperatures. (I guess the weather is making up for the record breaking cold earlier in the year.) I enjoy gardening and being outside. I'm also enjoying learning more about cooking from scratch.8

Hi everyone, I'm looking forward for this challenge. I'm in a funk with this weight loss journey right now I can not seem to stay consistent with meals or workouts. I hope this helps me get back to consistency. Good luck to everyone!8

March will be my second month with UAC:
• Didn't make the February winner's circle, BUT have lost just over 5 lbs thanks to this group! Hoping to take a few more off before March. And then, 25 lbs left to go. I've lost about 30 since 2014.
• UAC has made me really examine daily habits. Because I'm pretty physically active, I paid less attention to calories - that's my downfall. Even if you eat healthy things, you can still eat too much.
• Having to be honest with an account for the day is awesome, looking forward to a better performance in March!
Good luck everyone!8 -
Opting in for an eleventh month. 49yo father of one from Australia. Started tracking weight and food when I realised I was heading for obese for the first time in my life. UAC has been helping keep me honest and on track. Have now exceeded initial goal weight and lost over 25kg (50 lbs) and in full maintenance since September 2017.
UAC is helped me create good, sustainable habits with the help of a wonderfully supportive group.7 -
I love this group! I made3 a commitment to myself and to this group to log in each to be accountable. It is very helpful to me to do so! The people here are all #Keepmovingforward and we are all in this together ROCK ON!5

New to this challenge. I am a 43 year old high school science teacher. I 60 lbs 5 years ago and gained back 30 in the past year through a bad combo of a stress eating habit and medical issues treated with steroids. My go to exercise was always walking and I love to be outside. I am still dealing with my ankle issue and am booted for at least 8 weeks. Most of my walking allotment is taken up in the classroom. Per Dr doing my best to stay below 5k steps. My challenge is to find new ways to get in physical activity. I am doing mat Pilates and like it so far. I have tried a few chair exercise videos but still haven’t found one that meets my needs. My goal is to try a new one each week till I find one I like or can put together pieces from what I have done to make a good workout.5

I'm in! New to this challenge. Really seeking some accountability and a network of people to stay accountable with. Excited to have found this!6

Hi! I’m new here. I’m Emily, a 32 year old mom of 2 (a 2 year old and a 9 month old). I used to be a lot more active. I need some accountability in my life and I hope to be an active participant in this group.6

New to this challenge but long time mfp member - hopefully this will be the thing that helps me stick to it!
I’m getting married in July and want to lose 10-20 kilos. I started gaining weight in my early 20s and I’m now the biggest I’ve ever been at 80kg. I need to get my eating under control as currently I’m a big emotional eater, and it’s having a really negative effect on my life. I need to find healthier ways to cope with general life stress. I love cooking and I actually love exercising, I just seem to love eating more.
I think CICO is the answer I just need to commit, for longer than a one week period.
So I’ve put my Fitbit on charge, done a 12 week workout plan, got my sports bra out for tomorrow’s 530am workout. Here’s hoping I can do it this time!5 -
Hi, I'd like to join this challenge for March. I've had a hard time sticking to anything this last year and have gained quite a bit of weight. I tried this challenge a few months ago and gave up recording when I went off track. I realize recording whether you meet your daily goals or not is really important and I really like to give it another try in March.5

Hi this is my 1st time doing a MFP challenge. I used to be quite fit but stopped caring after a bereavement. After a good few years of doing no exercise and not eating well I started jogging again last spring and rejoined the gym last summer. I have been exercising for wellbeing until a few weeks ago when I realised I want to really get fit and take care of myself again. I'm hoping this challenge will help me on the 'don't care' days good luck to all!4

I weighed in at 330.1 this morning as I joined a 5 week/15 lb challenge. My mindset, however, is 16 weeks/100 lbs. I know this can be done. It's a matter of just doing it. By joining this challenge, it will add accountability for my meal planning and logging.5

Hello all! I'm Audrey, I'm 33 years old and could definitely use a group to post to every (or almost every) day to help keep me accountable. I generally run or walk for exercise, but haven't been much lately after a bout of mono in early January. Need to get back to it!
I'm a second year family medicine resident - I graduated med school almost 5 years ago, did family med internship, then worked as a general physician for 3 years before returning to residency this last fall.
While I was working as a gp, I did great with weight loss and got myself down from 180 to 148 lbs. Then I came back into residency and I'm now back up to 177.6
I have 2 weeks left of my current rotation, which is a fairly easy outpatient/clinic rotation. Then I'm moving to an 8 week inpatient rotation where I'll work ~12 hours/day, 6 days/week. I bought some meal prep containers online that should come tomorrow. I'm going to start batch cooking some meals to freeze - basically I'm going to try to make my own microwavable meals that fit my way of eating (plant based).
I hope to get to know all of you better over the next month (and more)5 -
Hi,This is my first time doing a challenge on mfp. The last few years I have put on a lot of weight and stopped being active. After the holidays I have started paying close attention to me eating and recently started excising. My goal isn't a specific weight but more of fitting into all my old clothes and feeling good. I need a way to be held accountable and this seems like an effective way. I am excited to be a part of this group and to continue what I started.4

I'm in! I already log obsessively and I have exercised every day in February, so far (WOO HOO), so I'm hoping this will give me the extra impetus to eat within my calories every day. I see some familiar faces from other challenges/groups. Hi all!
I'm a 46 y/o woman. OSW 252. CW 241.8.4 -
Hello everyone, I'm in for March. Just hoping to kick off my fitness journey (again)....3

Hi Everyone. I'm new to this group. I'm in a couple of others, but they never seem to have the level of activity I'd like so I'm hoping this one will be a little more active. I like the level of focus and mindfulness it will require, too. I'm excited to get to know all of you!
I'm 30, work full time and have a 1.5 year old son. I enjoy cycling and eat Keto. I need to be a little more careful not taking bites here and there of my sons food so I think this group will help me be more honest with my tracking.2 -
Hi,
March will be the third month for me. January was a success, but February I had some problems and had to drop out and make some adjustments to my workouts. Still, February was a success since weight wise since end of month<start of month, so the main goal was met.
I'm looking forward to March and checking in with everyone daily!3 -

Welcome to UAC
I joined Weight Watchers few years ago when I was my heaviest and struggling. Some things I learned that has stay with me is that the best way to loose weight that will last is roughly 1 to 2lbs a week.- You did not gain weight in few months. It was over some time.
- You loose weight slowly. Forgive yourself and be patient with yourself.
- Celebrate small victories along the way
- You form good habits in the process.
- Your body adjust healthy.
- Set small goals. You are not disappointed when the big goal set is not met which may make you give up.
- You are focus on other NSV along the way.
- This is life process.
Over the years I have successfully used these knowledge to loose weight and keep it off.
I joined UAC to- be in the company of like minded people
- maintain my weight and good habits
- remind myself that this is for life and it is okay because I am special and unique
I wish you all the best in this journey.

Hello! I'm a FT working mom of 2. Happily married to a man who loves to snack as much as I do! We work opposite shifts so life is stressful. Exercising means getting up earlier than I am used to. Here for the first time. Ready to make a commitment to myself.
Age: 39
Goal: lose 60ish lbs5 -
My name is Tiffany. I’m a 40 year old single mom of twin boys. They are 16. 16 years ago when I gave birth I weighed exactly what I weigh now. I slowly and steadily gained 3 lbs a year and now find myself clinically obese.
I’m a veteran. I’ve always been a bit “thick” even in the best shape of my life. But now I’m 50 lbs over anything possibly considered healthy. My hips hurt. My knees. My back. I’m tired. I struggle reaching all my body parts.
I want my life back. I can do this. I need accountability.8 -
Hello everyone, I'm a 25yo pharmacy student finishing up my last 1.3 years of graduate school. Since being in college I've really let my diet and exercise habits slip, and my waistline shows it. I always tell myself that once I'm finished with school, I'll have more time to devote to my health, but I'm tired of waiting and gaining in the meantime. I hope this group will help me keep myself honest and accountable for my actions. I'm sure it isn't impossible to fit a healthy lifestyle into a busy school/work schedule, I just need to stay motivated to figure out how to do it.4

I’m 37, work full-time and have two stinkin cute kids (7yr old boy & 20 month old girl). I want to get healthier & stay that way to keep up with them & set a good example. This is my 3rd month in the challenge and enjoy having to stay accountable with such supportive people.2

Hi guys. I am 57 y.o. and in maintenance. I lost 95 pounds last year and am trying to keep it off. My goal is 210-215. I am currently at 216.2. I try to walk daily. If I can’t get outside I use my Wii FitPlus for at least 30 minutes. I am also trying yoga. It is tough. I firmly believe in calories in vs. calories out. Good luck to all.4

Hello there! Glad to join.
I'm a triathlete working at reaching my racing weight but as the season has already started for me, it's hard to stick to a given day for weight ins, hence why I was looking for a group to keep me accountable but without weight ins on a fixed day.
May aim is to get to the title of regional champion, a friend of mine currently holds it and I'd gladly be the next in two years. Getting to a proper weight is just part of it, and maintaining will be the other part. Not much to lose but that doesn't make it easier.4
