OMG! 159.8! I haven't been in the 150s in probably 7 years! Less than 20 lbs until my goal (140)!8 -
Week 16 (4 Months) of keto for me. I bounced back from a bad previous week (2-lb gain) with a loss of 4.2 pounds and 0.8% of BF this week. That puts me back within 10 pounds (7.8) of 50 pounds lost for the second time this year. I got a little over confident in my ability to negotiate some non-keto friendly events the previous week. This week I carefully logged everything before I put it in my mouth.
In fact, I’ve decided not to make any weight or BF goals for May. Instead my goal for May will be to log, track, weigh and monitor accurately as I approach the place Keto takes me. I’ll stay at or below my MFP recommended calorie count and let my hunger be my guide as I approach my ideal keto destination.
By doing that, my goal is to be in ketosis for all of May. My expectation is, that will put me over a 50 pounds loss, below 20% BF and a healthy BMI somewhere below 25.0. We will see where keto takes me. Hope to see you all in our May group.

Well, I suspected as much. Last week's gain was just water. It's so nice to know that! I've been reminded again that as long as I have a calorie deficit every day, get some good exercise, and log my food, I WILL lose weight. I had a major cheat meal on Friday evening and had a lot of carbs and sugar that I haven't had in many months. Wow, the next morning I felt gross. All puffy and lethargic. It DOES make a difference and will serve as a lesson going forward. Cheat meals are not worth it!!

A bit of a slow down this month but things got moving again this week. I believe I was using too much of Mio/Dasani water flavoring in my water mix. I read on reddit of someone cutting on their consumption of crystal light and the pounds started dropping in a week. While I wasn’t able to get to 210 lbs, I’m going into May with a bit more of knowledge. Let’s see if I can reach 200 by the end of May as I originally had planned, or at least 200 by June 11th.7 -

I had a similar experience this week. 195 last Sunday, 194.2 Tuesday and every morning since, until I was bad yesterday and had a donut with the kid’s soccer team - today it’s 193. Not something I intend to do on a regular basis, but glad to see that one slip didn’t derail my progress.

Well it's still going down but I think it could've been more if I hadn't gone wild yesterday. I always seem to lose it on the weekend. Pizza, Burger King, soda and ice cream! smh 3 lbs for the month. It's not as much as I was looking for but better than I've been able to do in the past. Back on my grind today though.5 -

Didn't hit my goal but that's okay because I think the pause I had at the beginning of the month was good because I believe it gave my body a few weeks to rest and relax. I think these last 2 weeks have shown me that a reset is a good thing. I had an interesting "A-HA" moment because I am closing in on what was my husband's starting weight of 218. It has become an unexpected goal.3 -

I did NOT meet my goal for the month cuz I did NOT stick to the diet! I gotta get it together. I'm too comfortable where I am now, all my clothes fit again, I'm at the weight I've been for the majority of my life. I need to remember I want to be in SHAPE by age 30, for the 1st time ever! I got distracted by getting my old shape back, I'm not done yet!4

Well I'm fractionally down this month, 0.6 pounds which I guess is better than fractionally up! Under 155 at 154.6. Maybe May..........3

A small loss this week, partially due to hormones but I'm sure eating an entire Lily's bar to myself three days in a row didn't help anything

I think the time has come to alter my expectations to what my body wants to do rather than what I want it to do. For the last few months I've been averaging around 4lbs a month. I think that's excellent at this point in my WL journey. When I look back at it expecting I "should" have lost more, it seems like I fell short, but 1 lb a week is an achievement and that's how I'm going to look at it going forward. Here's to new perspectives in May! In other news, I've increased my muscle % and mass slightly, and decreased my BF %...WOOT WOOT! I've been working on getting back to running and strength training. I do have some inflammation but I'm hoping that goes down as my body adjusts again. This week is a "no dairy, caffeine, minimal fat and carbs week". I know for sure the caffeine causes water retention for me, and suspect dairy does too, but life with cheese and creamy coffee isn't something I'm willing give up. One week a month is doable for me though.
