Question. The last two days when I was legitimately hungry, I went straight to nauseous. Is that keto flu? Or normal?
Please don't allow yourself to get hungry, you shouldn't with keto so if you are getting hungry: eat! Also keep your salt intake up, there is no need for keto flu it's just lack of salts for most if not all people. Good luck and welcome!
Hi China! Oh yes I'm usually not hungry at all, tbh, but the first two days while the carbs and sugar were raging in protest I did find we were out and I missed dinner, and on the way back home I was suddenly nauseous like crazy. I haven't been nauseous since.0 -
Looking forward to 2019! Last year I found out about a crazy idea of eating fat to regain my physical and mental health. It worked! In the first 6 months I lost 45 pounds, got my brain back and felt better than I had for years. In fact, I felt so good I dislocated my shoulder playing too hard for my age of 68.
I used my injury as an excuse to jump on and off the keto wagon for the last 6 months of the year. Even my halfhearted attempt at keto kept me heathier and happier than I had been for years. I’m still about 20 pounds better off than I was last New Year.
More important, I’ve made it through the eating season and I’m ready to reset my keto discipline starting tomorrow. Happy New Year to all my keto/MFP friends. I thank you all for the advice, encouragement and support that made 2018 a keto success for me. Let’s make 2019 the best keto year ever. I our monthly challenge group.

December was a hot mess for me. I'm not going to dwell on the scale, but on the fact that I enjoyed the holidays with family & friends. Despite packing on the lbs, I am still here and getting ready (mentally) to do the work to get back on track. I am looking forward to having the best month I've had on a long time.
2018 was a year of many blessings for me, and I'm looking forward to what 2019 has in store. Happy New Year everyone!7 -
I’m in for the January challenge! I started Keto on 12/27 and can’t believe how “not hungry” I am. I started intermittent fasting a couple of weeks ago with 16/8. Having a hard time hitting the 75% fats macro though. Please add me. Thank you2

If you're new to keto; track, measure, and stick with it. It becomes so easy, and is great once fat adapted. Remember, fat is a limit, protein is a goal, and carbs are a thing you want to limit to get into ketosis, and keep them around 20g net. Carbs - fiber = Net Carbs. Sugar Alcohols are also a thing, but the basic is C-F=NC.

Good luck, and make sure you stay properly hydrated! Broths, stocks, ketorade, powerade zeros, etc. It'll make keto flu much better to handle. That salt loss can hit hard 2-3 days in otherwise.1 -

Happy New Year, Keto friends! Looking forward to 2019 f and the continuation of the Keto lifestyle I started in March 2018. We had 23 friends stay with us over the course of 2018. While I feel very lucky and honored to have people I love visit me and my family, it does present a bit of a disruption. I've been eating and drinking whatever I want since Thanksgiving but I've managed to keep my weight loss - I don't know how!
This year is about getting my blood pressure under control. I'll be eating clean Keto, consuming plant-based fats over animal fat, and making exercise a priority. I'm not sure I will attempt to log my food every day - it takes a surprising amount of time. But, if you are just starting Keto I highly recommend you log your food for at least 2 months.
My daughter starts school this week @ 3 days a week. I'm planning on doing OMAD (one meal a day) on two of those days. My tenets this year are: Hydration, Vegetables, Fish, Exercise, Marriage, & Focused Play.

Excuse me for being pedantic, but shouldn't the last weigh-in be February 2nd? That way we include the results from every day of the month in the differences?

Hey all! Some of you will remember me... nice to see you all here! I lost 110 lbs in 14 months with strict keto, and I was feeling great. Then I took a "mini break" that was supposed to just be for summer vacation, but turned into 6 months away from keto & MFP (with a few false re-starts). I put 50 lbs back on during that time!!
I am glad I didn't put it all back on and I'm sure it'll come back off easy. I can feel that much of it is inflammation and water. My body does NOT like grains or sugar and I turn into a water balloon when I eat those things.
I'm on Day 2 of clean keto, logging and intermittent fasting. I'm starting with bulletproof and doing high fat, keto by-the-book before I ease back into my own middle-road version of things. I'm more of a moderate fat keto-er but figure I'll just get through the transition to ketosis before easing off.
Happy New Year!13 -

I took Tgiving, Xmas and NYD off from keto -I drank what I wanted and ate what I wanted, but put myself back on track the next day. It resulted in zero weight loss (some minor fluctuations throughout the month) overall. I am slightly encouraged by that lol.
My New Year's resolution is to work on my self-discipline. Not just in terms of weight loss, but in everything. I tend to procrastinate on my filing at work, leave housework to the last minute, avoid things I don't want to do, etc. I think working on self-discipline will be helpful in all areas of my life.
I have 29 lbs to my goal weight of 140, by June 10. That's roughly 22 weeks...plenty of time!
