Hello Keto Mates, Last Sunday of the Jan 2019 is came for me. I am from India so I am the first one to log in the details!! Four Sundays went really fast. Its been almost close to two months of Keto for me, feeling really great. I have not seen many changes in my weight but I can feel in my body lite. The weight is like up and down think I'm in Plateau but I am happy the way I am going. This month I had a cheat day on Jan 1st from then I gain weight and loss that with Alternate day fasting!! A new week is back hoping this will have some changes in my food & Weight.

I'm female, age 25, 5' 5''
Starting weight -154 (Sept 26th)
Current weight -130.8
Goal weight -around 119 (depends on image and haven't done any weights/resistance yet)
Monday 12/24 - 131 (Morning of cheat time start, which lasted 9 days. More than planned as gifted a lot of chocolate and cider, so also had cheat meals each day. Didn't track after this day)
Tuesday 01/02 - 139 (Went back on here and yep, 8lb gain. Mostly water but 2/3lb is fat as went overboard on kcals. I found I preferred keto alternatives in the end. Potatoes are so boring in any form. Rice, pasta and noodles also boring. Cauliflower mash and rice is so much better. Zoodles are great for noodles and spaghetti. Good keto recipe for other pasta. Bread I still enjoyed. Had toast with jam each day. Need to try keto bread recipe for toast. The overall feel of carbs and sugar though wasn't good. I felt crummy and towards the end my headaches were coming back, so was good to end before the migraines kicked in. I was also looking forward to healthy food again. )
Sunday 01/06 - 136 (Water weight going down)
Sunday 01/13 - 137 (Cheated on the 9th, my b-day, and for a couple days after. Water weight went back up, making weight 139 and I also struggled to go back. Had a keto day on 11th, tried making keto bread which failed and being that I spent hours on it I ate regular toast with jam from frustration. I got myself in the habit of snacking with the cheating so just felt hungry too much. Plain Weetabix in milk next night before managing to hold off any carby snacks other days. Those snacks still totalled to moderate low-carb though so wasn't too big a hit. )
Sunday 01/20 -132 (I was 134 yesterday so wasn't expecting the 2 pound drop. May go up 1 tomorrow cause water, who knows. Getting better with the snacks, though did give in to having chicken and nuts last night which I'm logging in today's diary. Goal this week is not to snack at night, going to bed earlier would likely help. The cheating really messed up my eating habits, which were easy before.)
Sunday 01/27 -130.8 (I've changed my scale to pounds instead of stone, so I have the 1/10 lb next to it now, in 0.2 increments. Snacking not a problem now as hunger has gone. Did try another bread recipe, but it was soon after waking and I read the egg count wrong haha. 4 whole eggs and 2 egg whites (separate the eggs). Ended up doing 2 egg whites and 6 egg yolks. Shouldn't bake while tired apparently.)

@chadrad2015 Don't worry about calories starting out. Just eat when hungry. Eggs, meat, cheese, butter, cream. Have these as or with snack or more in meals to fill up. Drink plenty of water.1 -

Looks like I may be reaching my goal this month. I think I'm at the lowest I've been in many years now. The baby just turned 12 this week, so I think I finally lost all the baby weight 🤣🤣🤣.
I was successful losing 50lbs in the past by cutting calories to nothing and doing tons of cardio, but after 3-4 months, for one reason or another, I stopped "dieting" and the lbs came all back and more.
This time, I'm convinced that I've found my WOE. After doing Keto for 8 months now, I think I'm not going back.
For those who have been following my posts, it's been 3 months since I've seen my sisters and over a year since I've seen the rest of the family, so I'm pushing hard the next three months because in April I'm going to visit the family and in May I'm running a half-marathon. So I want to be at my best and surprise my dad, but I also want to run as light as possible.
Smashing each goal on fat lb at a time!
Keep on keto5 -
This is week one of new settings on my Tanita scale. I’m now one year older, my new height is 5’4.5” (Shrunk from 5’6”) but I still identify as a male, Ha! As you may have guessed, my Tanita stats, BF%, muscle mass, physique rating, metabolic age, visceral fat and bone density all took a hit. However, no worries, these will serve as a new baseline for the shorter/older me. It’s all good from here.
Here’s some good news! I’ve lost a total of 10.0 pounds in January and the equivalent of 2 bowling balls (30lbs) since my keto start date. And the last 10 came off while logging my food only two out of the last 27 days. I’ve been doing keto for over a year now. I think I’m at a place, where I know intuitively, how to eat keto and stay fat adapted without logging everything. I know what I like, what works for me and what doesn’t.
For Feb. my goal is to stay fat adapted for a second month in a row without logging everything I eat. If I can accomplish this, I will consider myself one step closer to calling Keto a way of existing (WOE) instead of just a diet plan I must adhere to. Also, I acknowledge January was a disciplined effort to get back to keto. I recognize those first 10 pounds were mostly water weight as a result of transitioning back to a fat adapted state. I expect my weight loss to slow for Feb, but I’m confident all my new Tanita stats will improve as I continue a healthy journey with my new WOE.

One month of Keto as of today! I remember feeling bloated and just plain awful on 12/27/18, the day after we came home from visiting family for the holidays. I had been studying Keto and IF during December and decided to commit myself to one month of Keto with no cheating and I've done it!!! Yay!!! I believe this is the LONGEST I've gone without cheating/binging on a diet/eating plan/WOE for as long as I can remember. My husband scoffed at Keto and I told him give me one month, let's see how it goes and how I feel. Well, I'm 10.6 pounds down and feeling pretty good. I have more energy and am less hungry. My clothes fit better. I'm going to keep going.

1/2/2019 - Hello all! I am giving Keto a try because I am at an all time high (258 lbs) and the doctor recommends Keto for my PCOS. I can't wait to read everyone's insights and results! Happy New Year!
1/7/2019 - 6.3 lbs down! All water weight of course but I will keep pushing and see what next week's weigh in brings!
1/14/2019- 3.1 lbs down! Keto has been a bit of a struggle. I've experimented with a lot of new recipes for Keto. This, on top of my workouts, have been keeping me busy! Also lost .5 inch on my bust and chest!
1/21/2019- 2.2 lbs down! OMG, I am so happy! It has been a real struggle, especially with all the free junk food, bagels, and the likes here at work.
1/28/2019- 4.8 lbs down! I did an accidental fast on Saturday when I took the day off and read my book the ENTIRE day. That made me drop a lot. Didn't mean to and most likely will not do that again!

@Kiki_StartingOver
What an awesome start. I was wondering if you knew about the companion spreadsheet Nikki maintains for our forum. Here’s a link to it. Check it out. It would be a great place to show-case your success. It has served as motivation and accountability for me and others.

I started Keto for the first time on Jan 1 of this year. I've tried hard to eat clean foods and even made my own keto bread. I've completely cut out sugar. I can't believe how much better I feel. I've stuck to the macros for Keto: 75% fat, 20% protein and 5% carbs. I'm down 24 lbs. in 28 days! I'm amazed. Is losing this fast normal? Is it because I have a large amount of weight to lose? Will my weight loss slow down? Most of my joint pain is gone! Is this too good to be true? So many questions!!5

Sunday 01/06: 165.2
Sunday 01/13: 162.2 (-3.0)
Sunday 01/20: 160.8 (-1.4)
Sunday 01/27: 160.8
No loss this week, but 4.4 lbs down is pretty great! I also realized that I have been following keto for 10 months now! I always had a tendency toward lower carb, but often people would scoff and think I was just crazy or following a fad diet.
Now I know the science behind this WOE (big thanks to 2 Keto Dudes podcast) and the importance of fat for health (physical and mental) and satiety. I am a PhD student in neuroscience, so understanding the research and the scientific basis of ketosis/ketogenic lifestyle (and the complete lack of scientific support for the high carb/low fat Standard American Diet) has been incredibly important for me.
Looking forward to February with you all!4 -
Derp, I forgot to post on Tuesday of last week.

Tuesday 01/22: 135.8kg/299.4lbs
Tuesday 01/29: 135.3kg/298.4lbs
Had a yo-yo stall this month. Something or somethings kept on kicking me out of ketosis and causing carb cravings. Added in a 5-HTP and cut back everything to keto basic. Seemed to do the trick. Really worried my beloved Premier Protein Drinks are the culprit, coupled with actual fat content from hamburger being 20-50g lower than it should be based on how I cooked the meat.
135.3kg/298.4lbs IS my lowest tracked weight to date. That is something I have to remind myself. Progress might have been slow this month, but it is progress. Besides, my legs are looking awesome from the bike.
Good luck to everyone this week/month/year/lifetime!8 -
I just found this, but have been doing keto for the last month. I weigh on Mondays, here's my progress:
12/31 - 258.2
1/07 - 249.6
1/14 - 246.4
1/21 - 245.4
1/28 -243.8
total weight loss: 14.4 lbs.
We're doing a biggest loser challenge at work (8 weeks total) my goal is to lose 20 lbs by that time frame. I've noticed by week 3 my progress started slowing down. As long as it keeps going down, it'll all add up.5 -
@jemillen No, 24 pounds in 28 days is not typical. You are a rock star. We are humbled to have you join our group. Please look for the Feb challenge group and hang with us to report your success. Way to go!
@Centarussoter Wow, you are creeping up on 100lbs lost. Only 15 more to go. Looks like you’ve made steady progress for months now. Thanks for joining us. Can’t wait to hear more of your success stories.
@mrsskinny629 Twenty pounds in 8 weeks is definitely in reach for you at this pace. Weight loss does slow down after the first few weeks of keto but stick with it. We are all experiments of one and each one of us reacts differently. Your 4-week loss of 14.4 is quite remarkable! Thanks for joining us.
Welcome all of you new or old. Hope to see you all in our Feb challenge forum.
