I've been in the FREEZER ALL week!!!! Soooo cold with a foot of snow. I have shoveled EVERY day at home, the fitness center & at the house I am house sitting for the winter. Last night while coming home from the high school basketball game (which was a little over an hour away) the temp gauge kept getting colder & colder. The coldest it read was 40 BELOW!!! Thank goodness there was only a breeze out or the windchill would have been unbelievable!
Since posting I have done 3 on foot & 10 from ex bike! My classes are going good. More in the low impact class than the Tabata/Interval one but oh well!

I've spent most of the week in bed ill. Feeling very jealous of all the moving that has been going on without me. I'm finally feeling well enough that I'm going to ride with my crazy bike club tonight, so that should add some miles.
@Lovemyalex - congrats on a big milestone!
@dinos - good to see you here. I did read Outliers several years back but I've forgotten a lot of what Gladwell said. The other guy was basically saying he was wrong. The truth is usually more subtle. Cynically, they all try to say something controversial that will sell books.
Stay warm, people!2 -
@lovemyalex Wow. Just wow.
Adding 3 miles. Got to chat with my dietitian at the gym this morning (so glad her client was ten mins late). She's got a gift for making me excited about this health journey when I need a boost. She also asked if she could give my username and blog site to another client who is struggling. She says she'll sometimes use me as an example for something and it seems to make a difference with the woman. She's also good for my ego

@kar328 - you are indeed inspirational, you’ve worked hard and achieved, and you’re still striving. If that doesn’t deserve bugging up, then I’m at a loss. You’re awesome.
@Janet - hope your cycle ride went well, and that you enjoyed it.
@Dave - how did the MRI go?
@vhuber - you are another AWESOME woman (there are a few here ....) stay warm1 -

@Janet: Hope you are feeling better.
To all the newer folks here: I hope that I do not make you feel left out of the group. It is good hearing from everyone, so feel free to speak up and share if you so choose. I am glad to see new folks joining the group and if I can ever be of help or you care to ask something please do. We are a great group of people and many of us have been here many years. The support from this group has been tremendous for me staying focused on maintaining a healthy body and sometimes mind as well.
Have a good week!0 -
@Vhuber - You should move up here to the Flathead. We are like the Riviera of Montana. We only got down to -9 degrees. The sun is out this morning and the snow looks amazing! Too bad I'm still stuck at work.1

@sufferlandrian - sorry you are stuck at work again!
@clepant - what a nice message to the newer folks. I echo your sentiments. We love having newer people here. Please feel welcome to jump in or ask anything if you have questions. We have some bad@ss folks here that may inspire you, such as ...
@kar328 - it's probably hard for you to see how incredible your transformation is. It is no surprise to me that your dietitian uses you as an example. I know I look up to you.
@darkrider42 - we all want to hear how the MRI went. Hope all is good!
As for me, I had a lot of fun on my ride last night. It was good to get some air and exercise. We probably had 50 people all with their bikes lit up. I got the ride leader to go past my house so my husband (and all the neighbors) could see us. With riding to church this morning, I'm at 23/75. Bam ... almost in the green.
Here's a photo of part of our group ...I'm the one in the light up fur vest, third from the left LOL.
Here's the ad for vest ... not me in this photo LOL.
