My 85 year old father broke his hip this weekend. I am so sad for him.
Oh no I'll be praying he has a speedy recovery that can be so painful as individuals get older but really praying he's not in too much pain and has lots of help through the recovery process.0 -

MOTIVATIONAL TIP: STRESS EATING & LOW CALORIE FOODS
When you find yourself in the momentof additional stress make sure your cupboards and refrigerators are filled with fat burning or low calorie foods or go outside and do something productive to relieve that stress. I myself emotional eat so I am speaking from experience. I'm still seeking an outlet for my emotional eating as its been 45 days and I have a tentative handle on it right now. As you know it takes 90 days to create a habit so I am O LY halfway there and I find myself at times googling cakes and cookies soooo not good.

Hi all, I'm Lissy. Was part of this last month but wasn't able to put in as much effort as I would have liked.

My weigh in date will be Wednesdays2 -
I'm having trouble finding motivation and being consistent. I feel like I know *how* to do everything and *what* I should do, I just don't, won't, or can't. I make plans for good changes, then when it comes to implementing them, my brain is like "nah, you're good." I'm really aiming to be accountable this month with you guys. If anyone wants to ping me if you don't hear from me, that would be wonderful, and I'm happy to do the same back. I may not have dedication to myself (yet), but I'm good at helping others.

Today I went for a walk in the morning before work and am hoping to go for a walk again later today, as well as get some strength and/or yoga in. I'm trying IF again (it worked well for me in the past, it's just HARD). I'm donating blood tomorrow so I don't think I'll be able to be as active tomorrow afternoon.2 -

No loss this week. I weigh myself daily so I can log it in the Happy Scale app to better understand my fluctuations and during last week I saw 158 on the scale. However, Monday is my “official” weigh-in day and this morning I was 160, so no change from last Monday which is fine. That’s what I get for eating the snowballs and FOUR packed fajitas (with lots of salsa and sour cream) the other night lol. But they were sooo good 😋 Anyway, here’s to a fresh start this week...we’ve got this 💪💟
Ok, so I'm still trying to get caught up in this thread, but your post caught my eye for 2 reasons:
1) I had a trainer once who suggested I log my weight everyday, but really only concern myself with week-to-week comparisons, i.e., Monday to Monday, Tuesday to Tuesday, etc. That way you could see patterns in your eating (i.e., weight is down every Friday, but up every Monday - are you splurging too much), catch any upward trends before you are 2 weeks (or more) into them, and not get discouraged my a temporary weight gain. I felt like that gave me pretty good insight into my eating habits without being discouraging.
2) "snowballs" ... are you in Louisiana or from Louisiana? Or does someone else use that term? (I'm not from there, but did live there for a while.)1 -

@CindyJNC1963 Good with the bald patches in your yard, I can't for any reason seem to grow grass no matter how hard I try, I just grow and cut the weeds as if it was grass. I think that it's amazing that you've come this far and can now do your own yard work! That's super exciting!
Also, weight loss slowing is a natural part of the process and I know that you're working with a specialist, and that they've made suggestions, but hopefully they've told you that this is normal, and can happen during the course of your weight loss journey. I think your plan to break through it is solid and you'll be losing quickly again in no time!!
I would settle for weeds right now. I have these two HUGE bad patches in my yard with other sporadic bald patches everywhere else. I paid someone last year to fix the lawn but it didn't take so I decided to try to do it myself this year. I planted some summer grass since it is so late so I will need to do a re-do in the fall.
I know that slowing is part of the process, but going from 10 lbs a month to less than 4 lbs in a month is a little drastic. Yes, she is very supportive and has made some suggestions and I have listened to what you all have said in this group too. The thing is....I NEVER cheat on my food plan. When I started in October I said I was in it for the long haul and I was done with junk food and I am. I rarely ever exceed my 1350 calorie a day limit (recommended by the doctor). I don't eat back exercise calories. I track every day and I do everything that I am supposed to do to lose weight. I think I am at what we used to call a "set point". It's kind of like your body has these certain weights where it likes to stay and resists going higher or lower than that point. It's going to take perseverance to get through it.
I'm under tremendous pressure at work right now and I think it is affecting how I perceive what is going on with my diet and weight loss. I'm not even close to giving up and I am NEVER going to go back to my old way of living. I will get past this point. I'm just kind of whiny about it right now.

Hello Everyone! My name is Amy, 54 yo. This will be my third month in a row with Team Slimsons. So far I have lost 20 pounds. I am so happy with my success and plan to continue with my 1-2 pounds a week.
Last week was a very stressful time for me. My brother who is only two years older than me had a heart attack. The family rushed to his bed side out of state because the doctors were thinking he was not going to be with us long. Well, they don't know my brother. For him to be in this situation in the first place was unbelievable. My brother is known as Mr. Fitness.
When we got to his bedside he was on full life support and unconscious. The doctors stated if he made it the next 12 hours he would have a good chance of survival. The next 3 days were a roller coaster but by day 4 he was off of all life support and talking. His recovery was so fast the doctors were baffled. He went in the hospital on a Friday and was walking out by the next Friday!
My brother is in the medical field and a pilot. His body was trying to tell him to go to the doctor which he put for 3 weeks, he didn't listen to his body. His heart was in Afib. He knew better. He was lucky he was in the ER when he had is heart attack. My brother will make a full recovery and I am very grateful.
So please we need to listen to our bodies they know when something is wrong. Take the time to tune in and be aware. If your body aches give it time to heal, if a pain is constant have if checked out.

Yeah that’s exactly what I do. I weigh everyday and log my weights into an app called Happy Scale that shows your average loss/trends etc. However, my official weigh-in day is a Monday so it’s just the Monday-Monday weight that matters to me if you know what I mean. It’s just interesting to see the daily fluctuations and keeps me on track for the day.
OkieGina & DeshotelK, I’m from the UK. The snowballs I’m talking about are mallow covered with chocolate and coconut shavings. Here’s a pic 😋

How scary for you and your family to see your brother like that! Thank you for sharing this with us...and I am so happy to know that he made a recovery.
AFIB is scary, in the past (about 10 years ago) I had a few cases of AFIB and needed to be cardioverted with drugs in the ER (my resting heart rate was 190). After a battery of cardio testing, nothing was found wrong with my heart to cause it. After a couple of years with no answers I found an AFIBBERS database of people who wrote in with their experiences.... and one young guy (23 years old, had the same issue as me) said he stopped drinking diet soda and all artificial sweeteners and his AFIB went away. I was a Diet Coke junky--(as well as diet teas and loads of Splenda packets each day). As soon as I stopped my symptoms went away. Crazy huh?! Since then I tell everyone to avoid artificial sweeteners (hidden in a lot of packaged foods you wouldn't even suspect). It's poison!!

I was able to increase my water drinking a lot today. I usually struggle to get in 8 cups but I should be about 12 - 14 cups today. I also bought a diet green tea at work and it was really good.

Thank you Nancy! I agree that the artificial sweeteners are poison! There are better alternatives that are healthy.2 -

I weigh everyday, it gives me a better picture of what my day to day is doing overall but I don't get upset if I'm up and down, because that's normal...

@CindyJNC1963 Being under pressure can have an effect on weight loss, as I am sure you know that too. Stress can increase cortisol which can in turn negatively impact your weight loss, so I encourage you to try to find an outlet for some of that pressure and stress at work, it may actually help
And I don't at all doubt that your diligent and stick to the plan, you have done SUCH an AMAZING JOB and I believe you will finish the job you started. I am with you in that boat where you do hit those points where your body likes to sit and I myself am at one and it's going to take a bit to get past it and I know that once I do, I'll be heading down that steady loss path again, as I tend to do so I think that the same will be for you as well, all a normal part of the process....hang in there, you'll be steadily losing again in no time, you're doing everything right!1 -
