TEAM WAISTAWAYS
I HAVE TURNED THE OWNERSHIP OF THE SPREADSHEETS BACK OVER TO STEVE...... AND LISELYN ( @jugar ) WILL BE DOING THE TALLIES AT THE END OF THE WEEK/MONTH WITH MY HELP IF NEEDED.... THIS IS A GOOD THING FOR THE GROUP AND FOR ME....I NEEDED TO STEP BACK TAKE A DEEP BREATH, RE-GROUP-RE-BOOT- AND MOVE FORWARD AFTER A VERY CHALLENGING APRIL FOR MYSELF AND MY FAMILY.
I HAVE DECIDED TO USE MY SKILLS AND GO IN A DIFFERENT DIRECTION AS ONE THE RECRUITERS FOR THE GROUP....AND CONCENTRATE ON MEMBERSHIP AND MOTIVATION FOR THE WARRIORS AND THE GROUP.
I DID THIS TYPE OF WORK FOR THE BOYS&GIRLS CLUB OF SOUTH PUGET SOUND FOR 20 YRS ALONG WITH MY JOB OF BEING THE EXEC. CHEF INSTRUCTOR FOR THE TEEN CHEFS AND THE FITNESS AND NUTRITION SPECIALIST.....
I WILL BE OCCASIONALLY POPPING INTO YOUR TEAM THREADS AND CHEERING YOUR TEAM AND PASSING OUT KUDOS TO ALL.
THANKS TO YOU ALL FOR BEING THE CHALLENGERS THAT YOU ARE AND HELPING YOUR TEAM MOVE FORWARD TO MORE HEALTHY LIFESTYLE.

I have to say that @Navydaddjtc is one inspiring guy. If you need more of a dose than you get here on our thread, don't hesitate to go visiting on Workout Warriors - I always find his big heart and hilarious snark to be a great combination to keep people going when they're struggling. We can give some right back if he isn't keeping his own health top of mind too! And of course, post on the TRIPLE CHALLENGE thread any time too.
It's great to see so many posting steps and water - but even if you don't want to do both (or either), let us know what you're up to, how you're doing, and what exercise beyond steps you are into, or what you are thinking if you have not yet found something that works for you. Let the conversations roll!0 -
Hey everyone,
I'm new here. And new to MFP. I'm 29 and from the UK. I've previously followed other plans and lost 3stone but not been able to shift the last 2 stone to get to target. I thought I'd do this to hopefully boost the last bit.
I don't really know anyone else doing this so I'm looking forward to seeing what this group entails and getting some ideas.

I can post my steps, water is not a problem for me since that is all I drink during the day.

You are welcome here - we are at all levels of losing, maintaining, and trying to shift weight and health in general. If you have already lost 3 stone, you are doing great! 2 stone to target will take some good close attention to your food (I find this makes the biggest difference at the last bits) but also building plenty of muscle so that you burn more calories in general just keeping those muscles well fed. If there is someone in this group who seems to be close in goal, temperament, general style, or whatever - you might want to become friends and share your food and exercise diaries. This is a great way to be accountable and have someone else checking out what you do. In the chat thread here, bring any questions, frustrations, triumphs, or general chat about the journey we are all on.
There are always challenges. Right now there is one where everyone can compete (if they want to) to win a sort of triple crown for total daily steps, total daily water consumption, and the week's total weight loss. Each team will choose one winner, and the 6 teams will then put them together to choose the champion. If that is too much, we have people counting steps, and other simpler challenges for sharing about food or water. These challenges are easy to find in the "announcements" section on the main Fat2Fit page.
I hope this is a good group for you! We are a lot of Canadians and Americans, and at least a couple of UK residents. Some of the other teams have some Aussies and others. We have some expats in Germany as well. Jump in and we'll get to know you. Mostly - participate, progress (with however many bumps along the way), and play.2 -

If you can also post the number of ounces (or ml) of water you drink, it can be part of this week's competition! That only begins at May 5th.0 -
Yes indeed! And if you want to be part of the "triple crown" competition for this week - log your water as well (May 5-11). Just let me know how many ounces or ml per day, and I'll log it! Your steps are always amazing
And if you have your steps for Sunday the 5th, please post them. If they were in the April thread, they are now closed. Thanks!1 -

I have been slow reporting on how far our amazing stepping team went the last 2 weeks of April, and for the whole month of April. I wait for late postings, then get busy, then - here I am. Late.
The Better Late Than Never April Final Stepping Team Report. Here it is.
The same three intrepid steppers on the team continued their dominance in Week 4, Week 5, and Total April.
@reflectionofme is without a doubt our TOP STEPPER.
April week 4: 108,614 steps / 90.5 km / 54.3 miles
April week 5: 112,536 steps / 93.8 km / 56 miles
TOTAL APRIL: 446,250 steps / 371.9 km / 223 miles
@Kittu125 runs a very close second. In fact, she was first in week 5.
April week 4: 106,568 steps / 88.8 km / 53.3 miles
April week 5: 116,429 steps / 97 km / 58.2 miles
TOTAL APRIL: 430,827 steps / 359 km / 215.4 miles
@sue_01 was not far behind in 3rd.
April week 4: 105,701 steps / 88 km / 52.9 miles
April week 5: 103,536 steps / 86.3 km / 51.8 miles
TOTAL APRIL: 414,636 steps / 345.5 km / 207.3 miles
If you are looking for inspiration, @reflectionofme was also our #2 for total weight loss last month - 7.4 pounds and 4.75% of her starting weight - reminding us all that just keeping ourselves moving, even gently, makes a huge difference!
The whole stepping team through the month of April took 3,323,163 steps. Yes. More than 3 million steps. And this includes losing @mari_moulin - the founder of this challenge who took some time off while having surgery. With her usual step numbers, we might have made it to 4 million.
3,343,163 steps = 2,786 km = 1671.6 miles. As a group, these 7-9 team members could have walked from Montreal to Kangerlussuaq in Greenland. If there was not any water in between. Or from Portland Maine to a good bit past Dallas Texas. To get better weather, no doubt. That is a heck of a long distance.
I always feel great posting these crazy statistics. I am impressed. So ANYONE who wants to post steps on any day, if you happen to carry a handy step tracker - just go for it. I'll post some geographical nonsense at the end of the week or month to show how great you are.

I know this looks like loss but I've actually been hovering on 183/184 for the last 5 weeks.
I am getting so frustrated! I can't seem to get out of it. Logging everything and staying green most days (except a little over on on the weekend).
How do I get it going again? Grrr😡2 -

I went to a nutritionist yesterday. Not that I haven't ever done it before, but I need a boot from someone who is going to help me every week face to face for a while. It will be interesting to see what changes they have me try. My guess is that caffeine is out the window (ugh). Time for a nap.2

@fourathomej I like your surrealist days of the week!
and .2 pounds is nothing to go all frowny face about. You know what to do! And you know how small a fluctuation this is.0 -
