@Minnygirl1 Great job! I love eating keto! I confess that I have a donut day occasionally, well maybe more than occasionally!! I am at maintenance so I am not as strict as most. What really helped me is intermittent fasting. I do 19:5 as much as possible. My five hour window of eating is from 4 o’clock until 9 PM. I love to eat in the evenings while watching some TV! It’s very easy for me to put off eating until that time. Exercise really helps me as well. I love swinging a very heavy kettle bell! I am 61 years old! I lost 70 pounds. I definitely would not give up calorie counting. Every time I do I gain weight back! I probably have less than 20% body fat now. Love my muscle!

@fancy0626 I have been doing intermittent fasting too. I just stop eating around 6 and skip breakfast having lunch around 1ish. Super easy. I agree, eating in the evening is my Achilles heel. This way, it’s not a problem.1

Hey all.
Im looking for some Keto friends on here as I am just starting out.
I’ve been gluten free for 3 years due to celiac disease and I found it makes me malnourished.
I so far love how Keto feels (and taste) even if I get nothing more than anti inflammatory from this way of eating I’d be happy.
I am however 5LB from where I wanna be. So I’m not to concerned with weight loss.
( even though that would be a splendid bonus!!!!! )7 -
Hi everyone!! I'm glad to know this post exists! I'm new to this group but have been eating keto since the beginning of May. I'm doing pretty well, but the scale isn't moving these last two weeks. I hope I get it moving again right away or I'm going to need to change some things on my eating plan. Please accept my friend invitation if you're looking for some new ones. I always am!6

Weight loss is not linear. There are so many factors that can cause a temporary gain on the scale. As long as your overall trend continues down, you are good. I wanted to throw my scale out the window this morning when it showed a 1.2lb GAIN but then reminded myself, that I actually had a 1500 calorie deficit yesterday and worked out twice, so more than likely, that gain was just water weight and will fall back off in a few days. Hopefully it is something similar for you as well.2 -
Hello everyone, just wanted to say hi..
Using myfitnesspal for long time for counting macros but never thought of visiting community. Rectifying this error in judgement and planning to actively read posts here as I just found there is plethora of relevant information available here. Appreciate all the community members here sharing their own experiences.
Little bit about myself. Following keto + omad for almost 7 months now and total loss until now is 66lbs (30kg). I do eat clean but I'm lazy when it comes to counting macros, one can say I'm doing "lazy" version of keto but it seems working for me so I'm happy. Will start counting again if I hit serious plateau though. Here's my progress chart for accountability...

I think stall is when there is no change in weight and/or measurements for 6 weeks. you may try to cut back on cream, nuts, or dairy products. Also check the artificial sweetener if you are using any, it might cause some stall. And definitely take your measurements. Good luck!1 -
Well, I’m down 6 pounds so far. Pretty happy about that. I’ll take it!7

I’m checking in. I’ve stalled on weight loss Which is why I’m trying IF now too. But feel so good on Keto, not changing anything with that.2

@Jessimom2 I love intermittent fasting! I do the 19:5 fast. I have my five hours of eating in the evening because I like to eat late and it works out great!! Good luck!2

I have been doing IF too. It’s so nice to have extra calories in the evening. (I’m a snack in front of the tv type person. Lol). The funny thing is, I used to eat like this years ago and found that I could control my weight pretty easily by skipping breakfast and not eating after dinner. I didn’t know it was IF, I just liked never liked eating in the morning. But as I got older, everyone told me how bad that was and that I was going to ruin my metabolism. So I made sure to eat breakfast. Forget that! I’m doing IF for life.4

I was so proud of myself this morning. I made biscuits and sausage gravy for hubby. OMG I wanted some so bad! There was a biscuit and about 1/2 cup gravy left so I fixed myself a plate with it, then I thought... nope, I'm not going to do this!! I asked hubby if he could eat some more, thankfully he said he could so I gave him the plate I'd fixed for myself. So glad I didn't cave in and eat it cause I'd be hating myself about now lol. Thing is, I don't even have any regrets for not eating it. In the past l'd been craving it and probably would've eaten everything in sight 😮. It didn't take long for the craving to disappear 👍🏼8

I didn't think gravy was a keto food because of the flour used to thicken it.

@prowell57 Right, I would advise against the gravy with all the flour in it. But there are several good keto/low carb biscuit and gravy recipes out there. Here's one, but just a quick google search and several pop up that could be great to try! https://www.heyketomama.com/easy-keto-biscuits-gravy/1

d_dc_lady thank you. I never thought of looking up keto gravy. Last week was my first week ever to do keto so I wasn't really for sure what I could/couldn't eat. I have a list of "yes" foods and "no" foods and stuck to the "yes" foods only. About halfway through the week I searched keto recipes (easy ones) so i could eat actual meals lol.
Found recipe for keto bread (haven't made it yet) but now I know there's recipes for keto gravy I'll have to make keto biscuits with keto gravy 😁.
Thank you so much for the link!1 -
Question about keto bread...what's best: keto bread or cloud bread?0

Hello everyone1

I discovered fried pork rinds are very keto friendly, no carbs/sugar in them. I've started eating them in place of potato chips. I also learned that you can crush them up really fine (like flour) and dip meat (or whatever you're going to fry/bake in the crushed pork rinds before cooking. It gives a crust to the meat/vegetables.1
-
Oh I forgot...you can dip the meat/vegetables in a beaten egg before dipping it in the crushed pork rinds, helps the pork rinds to stick to whatever your cooking. I did this to asparagus spears but I added salt, pepper and shredded Parmesan cheese to the crushed pork rinds before dipping the asparagus in it (but first dip the asparagus in beaten egg) so pork rind mixture would stick, then I baked them. Today I'm going to make salmon cakes and use crushed pork rinds to make the cakes a little crunchy.0

Gravy doesn’t always have flour and even if it does it isn’t a lot.

These make great nachos! It’s high calorie, but a great weekend food!

Happy 4th of July to all my USA friends🎈
I've been struggling last couple days on keto. Didn't do too good yesterday, stayed below my calories but went over on my carbs/sugar. When I first started keto last week I jumped right in on a strict keto! Thinking about changing my macros so they're not quiet as strict and work my way up to a strict keto. I had macros set to; carbs 5%, protein 20% and fat 75%. Thinking of changing them to 10%, 30%, 60%. What did y'all have your macros set at when you first started keto?1
