    I am trying to be more mindful of what I am snacking on. I bought naked popcorn and 100 calorie emerald nut snacks.

    Hi there! I have also gained about 10 lbs and I’m 16 weeks pregnant but I didn’t watch what I ate and I did eat more than what I needed so 4 days ago I started using MFP on maintenance as lightly active although I am almost sedentary. I do have a 1,5 year old so I do stuff all day long but it’s not like I’m running laps or something. In these 4 days the scale stayed the same wich is pleasing since I am not necessarily feeling hungry and I eat everything in moderation. Plus I am also overweight since I had 15 lbs excess weight left after my first pregnancy so my dr told me that I shouldn’t gain more than about 15 lbs this time. With my daughter I gained about 80 lbs!!! That was a huge lesson to never ever do that again since it complicated my pregnancy, delivery and life a lot!

    welcome to the group! I also gained a ton of weight with my last pregnancy, about 65 lbs. I hated having all that extra weight after I gave birth, it took me so long to lose the weight. So I've been trying to somewhat keep it under control this time and not go over the recommended amount.

    Thank you 😊 Yes it was very hard to watch my body change that much. Plus I had complications due to the weight gain, I had severe SPD, my whole pelvis hurt, I got the symptoms for preeclampsia so they had to induce me which ended in an emergency c-section. So I am trying to avoid all of that. I’ve been tracking the last 4 days. Today is day 5 but I just woke up. I have to say I am very pleased. I set my calories to maintenance with light activity and I am maintaining. I should only gain another 2,5 kg or about 6 lbs until I give birth so I am actually expected to lose some fat. Otherwise I will get very heavy and all those complications will be a real possibility this time again.
    How are you guys doing?

    I'm 16 weeks 4 days and have gained 5.8 lbs. I think it also depends on what weight/bmi you started at and how much you should gain during your pregnancy based on that. Dont' be too strict or hard on yourself. Enjoy pregnancy! Once we have these sweet little babies we can get back to losing weight. Right now we should just be eating healthy, staying active, and enjoying. I think water retention is a huge factor just fyi.

    You are all doing great.
    My problem is boredom eating which can be especially hard on rainy days when I cannot go to the park with my daughter. But it’s still waaaay better that in my previous pregnancy where I boredom ate all the time because we moved to a new city and I didn’t have friends there yet and my husband had worked so much. My BMI was 24 and I gained 80 lbs so it really does depend on how much and what you eat. This time I can control my weight with MFP and I feel so much fitter, can run around with my daughter and have in general a lot more energy and I’m in a way better mood than last time.

    @csilladev Girl names are tough! I had a loooong list of girl names that I liked, lol. Too many options out there! My husband has had a boy name picked out since he was a teen, so we'll probably go with that. I don't have any boy names that I'm set on.

    @rachelcalsbeek We finally decided on Mina. It is hard because we come from different countries and live in Germany which isn’t the birth country of either of us so we must find a name that is pretty international or at least easy to spell and pronounce. Since no one outside of my birth country can pronounce my name right 😅
    But girls, something horrible happened. I found a tick on my stomach a week ago. My husband removed it and it was small but I am soooo scared now since I read that if I do get borreliossis from the bite it could cause problems with the baby. And I won’t have any symptoms for 2-3 weeks, but I got a fever today that didn’t last long but I am still freaked out 😩 I just started finally feeling pregnant and looking forward to the baby and everything and than this happens 😤
