I'm just coming off of three months with no running after foot surgery in October to repair a ruptured tendon. I finally started running a week ago.

My first race is the Psycho Wyco 20M trail race in Kansas City on February 23rd, with my dog. I'll be taking it easy with that race.

What I'm really training for is the Tillamook Burn 50M trail race in Oregon on April 27th. It remains to be seen if i can safely get my distance up by then, but I'm full prepared to DNF if I have to. I signed up for this race just a few day before my injury and with no refunds, I'm still in.

Doing the Columbus marathon in October. My first full
  • 1/2 marathon in May. I wimped out this year and am doing a 1/2 rather than the full. I will do the full in October. This will be my 3rd half and October will be my 11th full.

South Downs 100 miler, June 2020. Am hoping to run my first 100 miler on the year of my 40th.

Which means that I probably need to also look for a full marathon and a 50 mile ultra between now and then.

Indy Mini in May, hoping to break 2 hours

I finished the training and just signed up for the DE Coastal Marathon. Although I have run 2 before, the last couple of times I started training, life got in the way when the long runs became really long. This time around I managed to fit in 3 18 milers and 2 20 milers. Hoping to break 4 hours this time! (3rd marathon overall)

I have finally got my *kitten* in gear and have signed up for the Bournemouth marathon at the start of October.
Though I'm now debating whether to sign up for another one that is at the start of September. Would give me a month between the two and really get me back in to this running lark.

    Excellent - good on you!

Following a better than expected London, I'm keen to do an autumn marathon this year to see if I can take some more time off. Tossing up between Bournemouth and Chester. I've run neither. I'd be interested to know why you selected Bournemouth.....

Had a really awesome half (for me) two weeks ago. I have been experimenting with nutrition and tailwind and they have been a huge help the second half of the race. I have a 10 miler June 1st I feel good about. Then the Baltimore running festival half in Oct. I would like to finish in 2:50 (15 mins faster) than this last one.

Selected Bournemouth because I live about 3 miles from start line, so I can have a gentle run to the start as a warm up and don't have to worry about getting there. Likewise afterwards, I can have a gentle limp home with maybe a beer stop or two on the way.

My husband is thinking about running this race and I will do it with him if he does. It will be his first HM. Most of the races I have scoped out for the beginning of this year are for other people. Right now I am in training limbo and it's kind of driving me crazy. I need to come up with a racing plan. Trying to keep it low key because my main objective is to remain uninjured until the end of the year when I start training for Boston in 2017. Any thoughts on how to get through the next 10 months with minimal risk of injury, yet still maintaining a strong base and my sanity are much appreciated!

    I'll be following the responses.

My husband and I just finished the Missoula Marathon, and are trying to recover and keep our training up for another marathon in September. I turned 40, so my goal is to run 4 marathons in 4 states this year!

    Anyone running Erie Marathon?

Not sure if I posted this already but I'm in the middle of training for Erie on September 8th and then running Steamtown on October 13th.

    Mid-summer training sucks! B)

Hello I just joined today! I am training for the Quad Cities marathon in September and the Des Moines Marathon 4 weeks later in October.

    @AmyBarkerFitness Welcome!

I assume you are from IA? Last month, I moved to TN, but I lived in various parts of Iowa for many years. The only race I did in DSM was the Dam2Dam in the last year before it was put under new management.

I lived in SW Iowa most recently (Clarinda) and ran the Wabash Trace, once with the half marathon and again for the full marathon. Then I tried to tick off more states for marathons, so I ended up with marathons (and a 50K) in AR, KS, and MO in Apr., SD and MN in May, and CO in June before moving. In prior years, I had run NE, IA, and OK to get some midwest states in.

Now that I have moved to TN and I plan to be here for a year (for work), I have plans for:
    MS and OH in Sept.
IL in Oct. (was signed up before moving)
WV, IN, and KY in Nov.
TN, AL, and TX in Dec.
    LA in Jan.
    FL in Feb.
    VA in Apr.
*I am still looking for marathons or 50K's in GA, NC, and SC to add to my calendar in the next 9-11 months.

    Anyway, welcome to the group!

Oh, I hope Quad Cities is fun! I have a bunch of friends who are running it, because I’m part of the 50 States Half Marathon club and our meet up is in Quad Cities this year!

After being inconsistent and losing a lot of fitness during the winter and spring (and gaining back some weight I'd lost), I'm doing two half marathons in September: Revel Big Cottonwood in SLC and Huntsville (Utah). I will find another fun event in October to keep me going!
