I know I've been doing badly this month, not throwing up and appetite back has definitely shown on scale.... but one of the doctors I saw on rotation yesterday told me to "lay off the bagels". After admitting my weight gain overall is fine, I just gained too much this past month and should "stay away from carbs" until it corrects itself. That just seems like weird advice. I mean cut down sure, low carb while pregnant = weird. And terribly rude phrasing for a pregnant woman already disappointed with a bad gain month. Uhh.

Not feeling good about my gain this week. I haven't been tracking, but I've been loosely keeping track of my calorie intake. I thought I did well this week, but I'm not happy with how much I gained (again).

I haven’t been keeping track til recently but I’m 28weeks and have gained 8kg approx which is about 17.6lbs I think? I had 12kgs to loose pre preg though, I am aiming not not gain more than 11.5 kg (25lb) and then try and loose the whole 24kg after birth.

@karen_thinmint That seems a bit ridiculous since your overall gain is perfectly healthy! The idea that gain should be linear is nonsense anyway- it's totally normal for it to happen in bursts and spurts.

My midwife said I'm at a healthy size and that I don't need to worry about gaining with intention- it's coming and I'm at no risk of being underweight so don't sweat it.

Well I did it, stayed under 35 lbs. I’m down to 175 and it keeps dropping every day. Was hoping I’d drop a much bigger chunk of weight after giving birth lol. Baby was born a week ago on 7/29 via c section. Recovery has been rough and painful esp with being enslaved to this tiny human, but he’s such a cutie and even his big brother seems to like him pretty well.

@hesn92 Congratulations!!!! I hope you are enjoying your bundle of joy!!!! 33 lbs is awesome. I have heard that you lose slower with csection because they have to put air in your abdomen. Rest as much as you can and don't worry about your weight until you feel better.

@karen_thinmint I started eating more around 18 weeks too! I know I was up 6 pounds by Dr. scale, but only 4 by mine, and then was down by 2 the next time. My dr. said it is normal to have growth spurts. I am sorry they made you feel bad.

I am teacher and just went back to work for 4 weeks. I have 3 Dr.s appts a week now- two NST and Biophysicals a week. I don't think I am going to stick to my 25 pound goal, but I am ok with that. I know this has been my healthiest pregnancy as far as eating and working out so I feel good about that. I will be induced at 38 weeks and I am hoping all my walking helps the induction go faster!!!

I am 28 weeks with pregnancy 4! I did start overweight. Between week 1-12 I lost 30lbs from diet change and slight nausea. Since then I have only gained 3.5 lbs. I am trying to stick with only gaining the minimum 10lbs suggested for overweight women, with respect to my and my son's health.

Officially 37 weeks! I am up 28lbs from start weight, I am gaining around 1lb a week pretty steadily now. I am very happy with my gain and physique at this point as well. I am not working out as much but lots of moving around, gentle yoga and walking :)

@sardelsa you’re almost done too! Do you have any guesses when the baby will come? Were your other babies early/late?

@hesn92 my guess is before the due date but who knows! My daughter came at 38 weeks and my son at 39 so we'll see! How are you and your new LO doing?
