Another stressful week. Mother in Law passed away - peacefully at the age of 91 but it's never easy to say goodbye to someone we love so much. Fact of the matter is Life is always going to present challenges and we have to figure out a way to get thru it without disrupting our health and habits.

I’ve managed to stay almost keto clean for 2 weeks in a row. Results are, I’ve dropped 7.4 pounds so far this month and I’m feeling much better. I’m creeping up on my 70th birthday, but I don’t feel a day over 69. Ha! Seriously, getting old is not for sissies. However, when I look around at my peers, I’m grateful to be doing the activities I still enjoy.
Keto helps me stay as young as possible. My joints feel better, I remember where I put my car keys and cell phone and I get restful/healing sleep at night. All the afore mentioned things and more were in jeopardy before I discovered keto. I Keto!
My goal for September is to finish off the month keto clean. I want to enter the “Eating Season” ahead of the power curve.

Weight Lost in Sept to date: 8.0 lbs
Changed scales and started weighing myself first thing in the morning last week, previously was weighing in afternoons. So loss is inflated a few pounds in the change. New scale is more accurate it seems and I think morning weigh-ins seem more consistent day to day. Trying to lose 2 lbs per week which seems doable where I am now.1 -

WEIGH IN 9/15 was a good one! I made my goal for this week.
What I think helped:
STREAKING BEHAVIOR........no eating after dinner! Just gum and tea and electrolyte mix in water....I am finding that if I draw a line in the sand, I find that I am able to be content with a whole day of "feeding" behind me. I haven't eaten because I am snacky - jittery - or tired. This is a big win for me and it's still making a difference.
Area of Improvement:
I think I am carelessly eating too many nuts without weighing them properly or logging.

Process goals: eat full meals at 11am, 3pm, and 7 pm. After 7, only protein/MCT shakes. No snacking between meals. Track e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g!
Tricks to help: Chewing gum in the evening and between meals. Rely on drinking tea and broths when I have the feeling that I might start an eating frenzy (but I'm tired and not hungry).
Exercise: running and lifting routine.

I managed to stay Keto clean most of the week. A going away to college party for my granddaughter and my 49th wedding anniversary celebration got in the way a little bit. Thus a few departures from ketosis did me in as far as weight loss for the week. However, I did lose 1.2 pounds this week, putting me at 8.4 pounds for the month.
Chipping away at my weight loss! I’m 19 pounds away from my end of year goal with only 14 weeks to get there. That means I’ve got to continue losing at a rate of just over 1.4 pounds per week. I can do that, despite the fact we are approaching the dreaded eating season.

I gained this week, for the first time in three months! Was it stress? No hydrating enough? A sore back that slowed strength training?

WEIGH IN 9/22 was a relief for me because I had been on a plateau all week--a tiny budge today is a win! I made my goal for this week.
What I think helped:

Final dose of MCT before bed...I tried 1tsp of MCT as a supplement before bed last night and maybe it worked.
Area of Improvement:
I would like to incorporate more fish into my diet. Since starting KETO I've been on a meat feeding frenzy.

Hi, I'm new to the group. I'm working back into low carb as I fell off the wagon and down into a ravine last year and gained back 30#. I cannot exercise right now as I have a mass on my spine that is compressing my spinal cord. It's a challenge just to get around at all right now. Have add'l tests this week that will hopefully give us a direction for treatment.6 -

UGH! You're killing me smalls!!!!
This menopause thing has slowed weight loss down to a screeching halt. What I normally would've been able to lose in half the time is taking what seems like forever. I did see a non-scale victory though... inches lost, lots of them! I took my measurements and compared them to last March. Down 12"+ all over body, mostly in my midsection. So, that's a motivator for me.
