Seriously amazing! I am so glad to hear your news @eyezbydiana !!! And the others all said it before me - no need to leave the team. Just hang out in support if you want to. Weight is not the only concern - staying active, keeping your muscles strong and ready to go are super important too, so if this team can be of any help, we'd love to keep you here. I agree with Amber that MFP needs a "screaming with joy" button somewhere. Congratulations

@cory17 - I hope you can enjoy your Christmas even if it involves eating too much banana bread -- you're still 1 pound less than at the beginning of the month, and even if you end up a couple of pounds over, that's what January is for. Enjoy the festivities, try not to let all of the pleasure be from food, and we'll be here to get everyone back on track. Get some joy on if you can!

@juliemargaretkim good for you on powering your yoga and unplugging some of the sugar and flour - that seems like a good recipe even if it all goes out the window Christmas Eve. One evening of crazy cookies will be a blast. We used to have crazy cookie making marathons starring such creations as "Gaudy Cookie", "Bride of Gaudy Cookie", "Night of the Living Gaudy Cookie" --- you get the idea. Have fun!

@micki48 - I get to NC Saturday and leave the 28th (the following Saturday). I'm looking forward to it! It will be good to spend the time with my mom (89 and doing great!) and my niece (she'll drive up from Florida on Christmas Eve). I love the sound of your day - 1950's cocktails and karaoke are a perfect combination! Being of 1950's vintage myself, I approve!!

I think we'll go with the reading challenge for next week, so everyone who wants to include one, let me know and I will assign you a day to post your paragraph. If you won't be able to post it, just send it to me and I'll make sure it gets up. I'll do one, Amber @Terytha will do one, and we just need 5 more. It can be a poem, a paragraph, a thing you wrote yourself - anything goes! I hope @evangsimmons170 will be able to share some of her writing

    Thank you!!

@jugar I’ll take a day. Are they to be connected in any way from day to day?

    Hey guys!
    I just found out I'm expecting 🙂
Therefore I will be removing myself from the group. Apparently I should be aiming to maintain now rather than lose lol 😂

Congrats, @eyezbydiana, that's a wonderful Christmas gift indeed! Wishing you a healthy pregnancy. 🤗🤗

@jugar I'd like to take a day too for writing a paragraph. Sounds like fun. Perhaps we could come up with one sentence starter for the week where each contributor uses the sentence starter and expounds upon it. One example might be, "I've learned that sometimes..." Each contributors response would start that way and go from there. No doubt we would get some great responses well worth the reading.

I had so hoped to be able to report a pound or half a pound down today but no luck. I swear my portions and nutrition have been on track. Contemplating what impacted my weight:
1). Pain med In General (down to 1/2 dose oxycodone daily rn)
    2) no activity
    3) ham and bean soup at the church supper
    4) my body is in a healing stage

So current weight, which I should be please with is 104.2

I stepped on and off several times. Twice it said 105.0 ... I kept trying .... Maybe I think its a casino slot machine and the next quarter will give me a win.

Mentally saying - this is a good number considering everything I'm going thru.
And I am a small person already. And I’m almost 49-

Yesterday got in some scooter outside. Steps said 2997 - felt good to have fresh air.

I have a job inter Today. Maybe 2 of them. I Prost God gives me the right opportunity and that I can easily discern which opportunity it is.

Thanks for reading ladies. Love ya.

How are you feeling @Shexio ? I hope you aren't getting too bored and cranky - I know I'm the worst patient in the world

The days are going by fast. I’ve been applying for jobs and studying interview questions. Tidying the house and staying busy. I could do the stay at home thing, but I like spending money.

Have a nice trip to NC!!!

@eyezbydiana - congrats!!!!! Woohoo!!! Another reason to avoid junk food!

So I have been seriously failing, I mean tuesday I thought I finally had myself together, but no I had 8 peanut blossoms and 4 packs of fun dip for dessert.. FUN DIP guys, I'm 48 NOT 8..... Well this morning I got on the scale and it showed a loss, so I decided to put those bad days in the past, and renew my commitment... I have been struggling because the losses seemed so insignificant the past month, and it just didn't seem worth it.. but I decided today that even if the pounds don't come off, my health is worth it.. I also think some of it might have to do with stupid peri-menopause, good Lord my time of the month is soooooo wacky, I got it twice in 3 weeks, so I can almost guarantee thats part of the reason why I was so snackie and moody ... ohhhhh hell I could go on and on about how the past 3 weeks have sucked .. I just hope after 2 in 3 weeks I can go 90 days without one like I did a few months ago.... that was awesome... Anyway, I am back with renewed commitment and vigor... Lets do this losing weight, getting healthy stuff... !

@eyezbydiana CONGRATS... so happy for you !

Not sure what happened this week. Not eating right, ate way too many cookies I made and no exercise. My motivation is just not there. I know it takes several weeks to get in a routine. I am hoping to get there. Scared what the scale will say tomorrow. 🙁

Sounds like quite the merry-go-round! From the other side, I can only say that actual menopause and beyond is much better than perimenopause. I love how even my moods became compared with before! So see? there is hope.

And yes, let's do this getting healthy stuff - which includes screwing up and learning from that. Or not worrying too much about it as long as you get back on track. Yes indeed! AND I didn't see anything in there about you falling into alcohol or smoking. That is a huge accomplishment, so take a bow, and accept the flowers. On we go!

Funny story: yesterday my boss was like, "you're the only one actually working today. If you get everything done, just take tomorrow off."

So I slept in today, vacuumed the house, bought cat food, and played my game until my arms wouldn't move anymore. Now I'm rehydrating for a few minutes so I can go have a hot shower.

This has been a great day of authorized hooky lol.

A new Japanese supermarket opened up so we're gonna go check it out once husband gets home, hopefully find a new rice cooker. Ours is pretty beat up.

I love that you and your hubby share a birthday. And you share it with Beethoven - that is important, I'm sure  So you are another candidate for our "let's all lose one pound per week in January" club! Enjoy the good choices, even if it is celebrating and might be more than you need for now.

I know that you are on excellent track - post surgery it is normal you'll retain water, and you're not in a "normal" state in many ways! No worries about the weight - we small people tend to worry about every pound, but you are well within a place you don't need to worry quite so much, especially while you're healing.

But more important are your interviews! I hope they are going great and that you'll find a job that is satisfying and has a congenial work atmosphere. You are making a good move, that's for sure.

UPDATE on the Week 4 READING CHALLENGE:

So far we are 4 and I have randomly chosen the following days:

    SUN @micki48
    MON @Terytha
    TUES @evangsimmons170
    WED @jugar
    THU
    FRI
    SAT

We need three more, or 3 of us to take 2 turns! If you want to change day, speak now or forever hold your peace.

In answer to questions - we are not obliged to write these ourselves. Write if that is what you love to do. Or pick a favourite poem, paragraph from any book you want, something you found on someone's blog (please attribute!), etc. There is no theme. What do you think people would enjoy reading? It can be inspiring, hilarious, oddball, and certainly does not have to have anything to do with Christmas unless you want it to. It can be something the parents or grandparents on F2F would read to the kids, or just a short line to inspire a thought or a smile. There are all kinds of people on the six teams here, so just enjoy sharing some words you enjoy.

Three more people??? Sign up, you won't regret it! Giving the gift of a short read will make you feel all fuzzy inside.

@Gidgitgoescrazy I hear you and I am write there with you at that “party.” Periods every three weeks since October. The hormones can definitely drive you to food, tears, etc. We can commiserate on this journey. But like Liselyn said, you are doing so well working to get healthy. We are proud of you. And we’re here to cheer you on or send virtual hugs.

@jugar Yikes, I’m first! Oh the pressure. 😘 Ok, I’ll get something together. Do we send it to you first in a pm or just post it? How will that part work?

I wasn’t on much today. Busy, busy. Lots of Ho Ho crafts and wrapping. Then a debate party til 11pm. So just getting on now.

To everyone struggling to stray (LOL STAY-Freudian slip) on track or remember your habits, just remember how far you’ve come and all you have learned about being healthy. And give yourself some grace if you need it.

So in 24 hours my son will be home for 12 days I am so happy... I did good yesterday, we ordered out because I had the kitchen for candy making, but I kept it simple, I had grilled chicken with Broccoli and a Salad.. I even told them not to bring the bread.. and I DID NOT order the delicious cannoli cake they have... Then I made fudge, I made white chocolate gingerbread swirl, and reese cup fudge... Both turned out great.. I do like fudge but it's so rich, I only need a smidge of each.. although I did scrap the bowl of the gingerbread fudge and shared it with my husband, after making a huge mess with the molasses I wasn't letting that go to waste... lol...

    Wow Friday!
I am SO glad some of you have taken off some weight to balance my very bad, terrible, horrible week. I put on 1.2 pounds, so it is good to see all you lovely green people to balance those of us in the red! I have fallen into the "first I eat well, and then I eat badly" trap again. I eat all my wonderful veggies, fibre, super clean. Then I have cookies. Or nuts. Wednesday night really did me in - I gave blood, but because it was snowing so crazily I got there later than I planned and it took forever. It was a great atmosphere and lots of fun (it was at my daughter's former army unit, and I know a lot of the people there), but when I got out, in spite of all the lovely snacks, I was ravenous. I stopped for a sandwich. With potato wedges. And then hot chocolate. Stuff I never eat! Then yesterday was a bit too lazy too. So I am paying for it. I look forward to a much better January, since this coming week will be a huge challenge while visiting my mom! Oh well, I'm still within my "good" range, so I am not panicking. Just complaining.

Now that I have finished my "woe is me" I wish everyone a lovely day! I'm on my way to Montreal later, and then flying out at the crack of dawn tomorrow. I'll have good internet most of the time, though, so will be able to keep up with all you lovelies.

I'll open up the Announcement Saturday (Sunday will be too crazy!) so all you'll have to do is post your reading sometime during the day Sunday. Then same for each day - we just individually post what we want people to read, and then they can simply read it or post a reaction if they want to. Just put the day clearly at the top, and we'll be off and running. Or at least stumbling along.

Turns out I didn't have to go to work today either lol.

That means I'm officially on vacation, and THAT means I'm taking a 1 week diet break and going on maintenance.

So we'll see how that goes. It's a little scary tbh.
