@CassieGetsFit2013 - Hope that you get your BP sorted soon. I am not a doctor, but have read up a bit on vaping thanks to my kids and their lessons in health class. The issue with vaping is not necessarily cancer, but lung issues. Apparently, some medical research shows the oils from the vaping fluids are inhaled into the lungs, clog them over time and cannot be removed. This is any kind of vaping fluid and not nicotine. This is why there have been the news stories about some young adults who vape are developing lung conditions normally seen in the elderly. More testing needs to be done, but this is why the general advice is out there not to vape, to do further medical testing, and also to further regulate vapes. It is absolutely your choice, but I suggest you do some research and speak to your doctor first. Your doctor can also advise you on other ways to help your anxiety.
Well, my BP was 138/98 earlier today, I had to go walk someone's doggy and when I left the house, I had a headache, both my arms were in pain and my knees were weak and ached bad. I went to my Psych. At 3pm, my BP there was 168/108...I had the same symptoms as I did earlier, but they felt worse...(Also, been sleep deprived because I've now been awake for 30 hours. Really going to try and get to sleep earlier tonight, but afraid I will bave hallucinations or something because last time this happened, I did, hopefully that won't happen though.) My Dr. Doesn't want to put me on any BP meds right now and my Psych won't put me on anything for anxiety...So I'm thinking I am just going to try vaping the CBD. I've been doing a lot of research and I have read some lretty scary things, but also some good things. I spoke to one of the Psychs about it today, but not mine and he said he couldn't say yes, do it, but he also said he couldn't tell me not to do it cause it isn't FDA approved and he said it could help, but be cautious cause it could also cause problems...So guess it's just up to me then. I'm hoping it will help with my BP and anxiety since neither one of them wants to give me advice or medication. *Sigh*
My Clinician said some hurtful things to me today. As soon as I got home, I cried and cried...I am just a very, overly emotional and sensitive person and I don't know HOW to toughen up...I've been this way pretty much since childhood. My Mom is also emotional and sensitive. I can never talk to her in person cause anytime I try and tell her something, sometimes she fusses or seems like she is judging me and then I feel bad, so I've started keeping more to myself and just not sharing with her and then when I want to share something with her, I do it with Snapchat cause that's where we message each other. So, after I got done with a the crying, I went ahead and opened up and told her how she made me feel today and other times...I am VERY nervous as to what she is going to say and how she's going to react, but I just had to tell her how she made me feel, was that thw beat idea? Should I have just left it alone and not have aaid anything? I hope I did the right thing and I hope she doesn't get super mad at me. 🥺 I'm so worried about it!
I've also had no appetite lately, I told my Dr. This and she said if I am the same in a week or two to come back to her. So I will see how it goes. I think my tests with the pap smear came back and everything is normal, but I sent her a message asking her how come I am havinf problems if everything is normal? I am getting strong urges to go, then when I sit on the toilet, I have to wait 5 minutes or more...Then when I finally start to pee, it's a weak flow and not much urine...So I am confused if the tests are normal, but this is going on. Guess I will wait for her response and see what she thinks about it.
This is a LONG response! Lol. Sorry! Had to get a lot out, hope you don't mind...

I'm so sorry to be missing in action. We had a death, my youngest uncle, and my mother has been accepted to the nursing home five-plus hours from me but right near my sister. She's blind, mostly deaf, and an amputee, so transportation is important. We're really engrossed in this and I have to say, I rarely do it, but I've been eating late at night. I'd say it's emotional eating. It is circumstantial and hopefully temporary.
What stress. Big sigh. This will not be the situation forever.

Another good day! I am struggling with urges but think of the ball in the sand and not reinforcing bad habits and I have been able to keep them at bay. How is everyone else doing? Am I the only one who can't believe it is going to be March soon?
@rundgrenrocks Thank you, I am going to try that yoga pose. I am trying with stairs and squats but I haven't squatted down when I am doing things. Maybe I should try that too. I just know I am going to have a hard time...more of a reason to do it if I want to be able to do these things again.
@CassieGetsFit2013 I am sorry to hear you are going through so much. I hope you get some answers.
@1theresamcvean That is a lot to have going on. Hugs! Hope that things get better soon. We miss you. You did miss week 3 weigh in, would you like to change your weigh in day to Tuesday or would you like to stay weighing in on Friday?2 -

Gonna give TOM credit for the gain, but yesterday was also Mardi Gras.
We're giving up alcohol and sugar for Lent and also trying to walk 3x a week together.
The sugar part will be difficult for me because I love flavored creamer in my coffee. Just bought some chai tea, and I'm going to make a coconut and cinnamon sweetener as well.
Hope everyone gets over the midweek hump!4 -

Ok - so this is the first I have weighed myself in 3 weeks. Not surprised by the increase (little surprised I did not break the 200lb mark).
Sorry I have been away so long. I have totally had my head in the sand the past few weeks, with my weight/diet really not being a focus at all.
Past 6 weeks have been awful, but life now is starting to get back to normal (well normal as in going to work, house chore, getting kids to clubs and not planning funeral or sorting out any of the other bits that goes with the death of a loved one - the grief and sadness however is still here).
On the positive front, I have kept up with the quit smoking. 26 days now of not smoking - has been easier than other attempts, and I really believe that this is my last attempt to quit and that I am now a non-smoker.
What with all the above, healthy eating has gone completely out of the window (as you can tell by my gain!). Now is my time to get focussed back on getting this under control. I have done a good healthy food shop and have planned the meals for the rest of the week and have today started tracking again. I have been feeling so hungry recently (stress or maybe lack of nicotine), that I plan on doing this in baby steps. Healthier choices and logging initially.
One of my main issues at the moment is that I am not sleeping properly - I sleep for about an hour then awake for 2 hours, and this is repeated a few times during the night. I have got into the habit of eating during these times of waking (as I feel constantly hungry), so this is one of the first things I need to try stopping!
I shall be back later to catch up on some posts and find out how you are all doing.
Take care x7 -
Tuesday check in
Really busy day yesterday and more unexpected stuff, but I did well with eating, followed my plan & hunger scale, had 2.4 litres of water and went for a run (cut short .5 km by the water!). I am focusing sticking to these daily goals not matter what comes up in the day. I am very happy that the 64 oz plus of daily water is on its way to becoming a new habit. I have always found it so challenging. My leg is feeling good and I signed up for a 5 km race in early June. I can run 5 km now, but slowly and with breaks. I hope to be a little faster by June and my training is set to be very gradual. I can always walk the race, but my goal is to have fun and finish, with no particular pace targetted. It has been a while since I had a race to look forward to, so I am excited!
@freeglerock - We are so happy that you are back! I am so sorry about your brother and the tough time that you have been going through. This journey is not linear for most of us and we are here to support you! If you are having a tough moment or day, you can share here as much as you are comfortable. Very impressive that you have stopped smoking! Welcome back and big hug!
@brown6267 - Great steps!
GingerPwr - Ugh, TOM. You have been doing great through this month and stay the course! Very impressive that you are giving up both alcohol and sugar for Lent. For lent, I am going to set aside 10 minutes per day for a prayer/meditation. I have a little yoga space in my home office and my intention is to go there each for 10 minutes, regardless of how busy it gets.
@amsandos - Just a little gain. Hope you enjoyed the pancakes though!
@sleepymom5 - Great day yesterday and yes, I also cannot believe it is almost March! I love that furry scale btw & want to get one!
@1theresamcvean - Good to hear form you! It is very good that you mother got into a nursing home and it must have been so difficult for her and everyone with all of her health issues. I understand that the home is further from you, but at least it is close to your sister. Totally understand the late night eating during this stressful time. We are here for you. When you have that urge to eat at night, feel free to post here before, during or after you do it, if you are comfortable doing so. It can help to talk about it and many of us have been (or are) there. Sending a big hug to you!
@CassieGetsFit2013 - Keep up your research and inquiries with your doctor and counsellor. It is tough, but try to advocate for yourself as best as possible and speaking to your family can help to. I really hope that you can get this all sorted soon.
@rundgrenrocks - Thanks for the yoga tip! I am focusing on squats this month too!
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx - I saw some more impressive numbers on your feed with your cycling, congrats!

Daily Check In: Tuesday
Food: pre-logged, ate as planned
Water: Good
Exercise & steps: JessicaSmithTV 30 minute strength training circuits; 6,266 steps
Good day with food and water. Spent a few minutes shoveling some snow I didn't get to on Monday. Caught up on a couple GH episodes. Feeling good but should not have stepped on the scale this morning as I'm up over 1 pound from yesterday. I know it can be any number of things besides my eating but it took the wind out of my sails. Tomorrow is weigh in day so I'll just have to wait and see. Food for today is pre-logged. My neighbor asked if I could drive her to a doctor's appt on Thursday... I suspect that will take up a large portion of my day. Oh well... so I need to get a few things done today.3 -
Someone posted this on MFP and I thought it was cute. I am not going to read into it that it may not be a realistic goal, I just like how hard she is trying. But still a good message. Don't give up on your dreams. As I said last night-good day yesterday, no reason for it not to be a good day today! Hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday!
@amsandos That isn't too bad after pancake day. Just get right back on track. I hope you get the internet sorted out soon. We do miss your posts. Are you still training? I don't want to ask too much because I know you can't always get online.
@GingerPwr That's not a bad weigh in between TOM and Mardi Gras. I love what you are doing for lent too! I was going to do the 40 bags for 40 days for lent but maybe I need to do something healthy instead.
@brown6267 Fantastic stepping!
@Freeglerock I am so happy to see you posting! I missed you! I know that you had a lot going on in your life so it is not too surprising that your healthy habits took a back seat to everything else. Don't be too hard on yourself. I am so happy you are still doing well with not smoking. So give yourself a huge pat on the back for that. I think concentrating on your sleeping is a good place to start, especially if you are getting up to eat during the times you are awake. Remember with everything else, small steps add up. Drink 1 more glass of water than you are now, add 500 extra steps a day, leave a few bites on your plate-you would be surprised how these small things do add up. I haven't even had close to the last 6 weeks that you have and I put on 5 lbs. I also was very close to being back over 200 so let's both finish February strong and have an awesome March! Hugs! I am so glad you are back!
@Cafelelia I have had to cut walks short for the same reason Lol! Other than cutting your run short, sounds like you had a great day! Isn't it cold up there? I think it must be tough running in the cold or maybe your winter is mild like ours.
@nstephenson01 I know the scale can be a great motivator but it also can make you feel like you are today. Remember, if you are doing what you are supposed to, just keep it going. The extra pound could be anything. Even if tomorrows weigh isn't what you wanted, stick to it and the scale will cooperate eventually. Hang in there. Good luck with all you have to do today. I know you are a good neighbor but I was wondering if you had a community transit service. I know in my town and my Mom's they had a transportation van for elderly. I have only seen it in my neighborhood but we did sign my Mom up for hers and it was $3 a trip. They only stayed in the county. I am not sure if you are in too of a remote area for that to exist. I was thinking maybe you could talk her into signing up incase you aren't available or are away. I do feel bad her world is kinda turned upside down right now. It is nice that you are such a loving neighbor.

I have spent 3 days cleaning and organizing the Fairy room. Just finished. That was so challenging. I had to organize all my clothes, (2more bags to goodwill), all my jewelry (more goodwill), all my crafts and planning supplies, and my fairies. I dusted, cleaned baseboards, mirrors, and vacuumed nooks and crannies. I took before and after pictures. It’s such a happy room!!!3

I ate so much yesterday. My goal is 147 by Friday. I need to get my actions to match my goals. I think it was the pressure of getting everything done. I’m running out of time. Feeling good though.1
-
@nstephenson01 don’t get too discouraged. I gained weight these last 2 weeks just so I can jump back in with you! Lol. It’s definitely not easy. I was doing good then weighed and felt discouraged too. I think that’s why I ate so much yesterday. So much is pure mental. Hang in there! Spring is a great time to renew our efforts!
@Cafelelia I am so excited that you are finally able to do a 5K again! Good for you. I know it has been a long journey. Great job with the water too. I’m being told that I need to keep mine high up there too.
@Freeglerock my heart goes out to you in your time of grief. Pretty remarkable that you are now a non-smoker. One of the worst habits to break. Hang in there. Good to hear from you.
@sleepymom5 sounds like your getting back into a good groove! I’m holding on to each day of Winter. I love the 4 seasons. But there is no doubt that Spring is coming quickly! I have thought of you while I was cleaning. I never did do the “nitty gritty” in the fairy room last year. Just closed closets and doors and made it presentable. But I did do all the other rooms. Now I look around and it’s time to do them all again!
@1theresamcvean you have been through so much. But it sounds like decisions have been made. Hang in there. The majority of us our emotional eaters so we can definitely relate. It will be okay. Keep showing up. We are here for you.
I miss doing my work outs. Water and steps are on track!
I will catch up with everyone else later!2 -
Tuesday 2/25 check in
Food: logged and under
Water: 64 oz
Exercise: 40 minutes
10 minute warmup on the treadmill
30 minute intense session with my trainer
I stayed for OT, even though I had planned on saying no, I ended up saying yes. It will be nice on the paycheck. Got to bed late because of the OT, then the gym and since I didn't get enough sleep I took a nap before work so the day seemed really short.3 -
Hello and happy Wednesday team. It’s a lovely snowy night here in Romeo Michigan and I’m taking turns at watching some tv and shoveling snow. It’s still snowing but I don’t want to let it get so heavy that I can’t lift it😀. Plus,there is something relaxing and peaceful about shoveling snow during a snowstorm. Maybe that sounds crazy and obviously I would rather not shovel snow at all - but since it’s unavoidable I’m trying to appreciate the beauty of the evening. Plus I’m getting a few extra steps in🕺3
-
@lennoncpa
No snow here in West Michigan. On Monday they had put out a winter weather watch for us from Tuesday through Thursday for up to 6 inches of snow. By yesterday morning the watch had been cancelled. The storm system went south of my area. There was maybe an inch of snow this morning when I got out of work.
I think of snow shoveling as exercise too. It's been a pretty mild winter on this side of the state.2 -
Wednesday 2/26 check in
Food: logged and on track
Water: 64 oz
Exercise: 30 minute intense session with my trainer and 30 minute walk with my walking group.
Today I am down 50 pounds. It's taken me 2 years to lose it but there were some times, like this summer, where I gained some back and had to lose it again. This is the first time I've kept off this much for so long so I'm happy about that. I give my food journal to my trainer every Wednesday, which also has my daily weights on it. When he saw the 50 pound mark he was so happy he stopped what I was doing to give me a hug. I've been working with him for just over 2 years so he knows the up and downs that I've had.
I was asked to stay for OT today but said no. I wasn't hungry when I got home so I went straight to bed so I got a lot of sleep today. After my training session I went to the walking group and then back home to have some supper and to relax before work.7 -
@rungrendrocks
We just finished Still Alice about a 50 year old with early onset Alzheimers and are currently reading Before we were yours, which is story based on real events. It's about Tenessee Children's Home and a lady named Georgia Tann, who took kids from poor families and basically sold them to wealthy families.2 -
Shhhhh, I'll tell you a secret. In the middle of the afternoon I like to sneak away from my desk and into the work gym and do some nice peaceful stretching. Ahhhhhh, bliss.0

I really have been doing well this week. I know it is only Wednesday but considering how the rest of the month has gone, I am excited. I do seem so tired lately. I feel like I have been rushing around from place to place. Now that I am home, I am going to make a point in getting at least 7 hours a night. Looks like a quiet day tomorrow so no reason not to continue my little string of good days. Hope everyone's week is going well.
@tryingagain5 Congratulations on 50 pounds lost!! I know it isn't easy but you have worked hard and have been really focusing on living a healthier life. You are really an inspiration!
@Mrsbell8well What a productive day! The room looks amazing! Those white booties are so cute! I was afraid you got rid of them but I see they are tucked further in the closet.
@lennoncpa I actually know what you mean. It is so quiet and you can sort of hear the snow falling. It is peaceful! Enjoy! And yes-good exercise and extra steps.
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx It is so nice there is a place you can sneak away to! I bet that is a great escape after sitting at your desk all morning.2 -
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx what a nice break!
@tryingagain5 congratulations!!! 50 ponds is a big achievement!!! I’m glad your trainer was so supportive!
@lennoncpa I love the story of you shoveling in a snowstorm. It does sound peaceful and like a lot of exercise!

Now that I'm home from work...
@tryingagain5 Congrats on 50 lbs. That is a true achievement!
@Mrsbell8well I love your room. Are those Tinkerbell/fairy style slippers that I see? Because I'm going to need a pair like those lol!
@lennoncpa You realise that shovelling snow is only something that happens in stories in my world, right? One day I'll see snow fall, and build a snowman, and burn a bazillion calories shovelling snow while earning a healthy dislike for it most likely. But for now it exists in fairytales and Christmas songs. Do you wanna build a snowman??? ❄🎵
@sleepymom5 You're doing great. I need to get more sleep too, I've been going to bed far too late and then getting up early to leave for work by 6.30am. Today I was barely awake in a meeting and then nodding off at my desk this afternoon! That's when I disappeared to the gym and posted that photo, but I go there most afternoons anyway. Nobody has found me yet 😁😁 The break and the stretching did wake me up a bit at least. I am going to bed early tonight though, thank goodness tomorrow is Friday!2
