@trooworld that is a lovely picture. I'm totally jealous.

Re Fitrockr: I think it’s because I’m using fitbit on my phone…it did sync once so I know it’s possible. Anyway I’m not going to worry about it….if I get some free time I will try the website as folks have suggested.

@TeresaW1020 glad your hair looks nice! The number one thing I would like is to go to the dentist lol. I think my regular checkup was for May.

@Cornanda I think that’s a great start! One step at a time. I’ve always been a fan of small goals.

@katmary71 yeah I think Hasfit is pretty good for weightlifting. I like bok choy but I only use it occasionally.

@AustinRuadhain I love the Snoopy. I’ve been thinking of getting a little celebration gif for me because I’ve been having a hard time meeting my goals. The green dot- do you post from your phone? I tried on my laptop and I don’t think it will work. No worries- I found something else.

Daily checkin:

-stay under calories. This has been super hard for me, I had big desserts the last couple days. Almost got fast food today but I resisted the urge. ☑
-do my wrist rehab work ☑
-walk 1 km (in the morning I actually stretched it to 1.3 km and felt ok. I was tempted to push it in the evening too, but I was cautious and just did 1 km.) ☑
-strength training with trainer ☑

-Bonus: 20 mins mobility work ☑

Plus my 3 tiny habits:
-meditate or sit peacefully for 2 to 5 mins ☑
-1 mobility move for upper and lower body. Still focussing on calf and shoulder ☑

@raleighgirl09 , @cornanda , @jactop - ❓ Are you guys using your fitness trackers but not having the data go over to FitRockr? It's fine if you are not. But checking to see if we need to ask FitRockr is they can help. They fixed things for @TeresaW1020 . (They have helpful tech support, which is... surprising to me for a free app!) But if this doesn't work well for most people, we can drop it.

Oh my - as far as I was aware, all was well. To be honest, I have not been paying attention but last week I had 3 days at less than 10,000 steps - all other days have been over.

@AustinRuadhain That cookbook looks interesting, I put it on my wish list but really got excited when I saw she has a cookbook all on beans! Anyone who's paid attention to my logging knows I eat beans/legumes every day, that is at the top of my wish list now!

Tuesday check-in
Exercise- chair cardio, shoulder and chest weights and resistance bands, Sidney Cummings stretching, foam rolling

Habits
Cardio 30 minutes- done
Weights- upper body good
Stretching/yoga and core- done
Recipe- made the sweet and spicy siracha tonight, I love that recipe
10,000 steps- ok, I'm not going to lie, I'm 100 steps away from 10,000 and I WILL get 10,000 tonight, it's too close not to!

Workout was really good, it was one of those rare days where I was rearing to go. I did all but one of Kym's chair workouts today plus an additional seated boxing one. Lowes was packed today, somehow 6 seedliings jumped into my cart so I spent the afternoon planting everything and making room for it all. Still have two more herbs coming, I'm going to have old plastic pots all over the place this summer!

Starting this May journey at 156lbs, and I have just turned away a plate of biscuits from my hubby!

Hey we are sooo very happy to have you back and doing well! Can you tell us what day of the week will be your weigh-in day so @broncobuddee can get you all set up on the spreadsheet. :)

Of course, Monday!

I'm growing lots of veg in my garden too, @Katmary71 - food tracked, determined to eat fruit today and not chocolate. Gorgeous day for a walk. Photos above. Spotted a white egret flying past. We had our bird book and checked!

My exercise has been thrown off these past couple of days by a returning shoulder injury. Really going to have to go to the doctors about it when it is safe to do so. Even if the quarantine here in the UK starts to be lifted soon...I'm at high risk so i'm going to be one of the last people getting out.

I'm not even supposed to leave the house right now.

But my lettuce is growing well and online friends are helping me through it.

@AustinRuadhain Thanks! I'm in a funk, so I need to dig myself out of it one minute at a time. ;) Yeah the beach was lovely on Monday. I love the Snoopy dancing!!! I love beets on salad. I don't know if you eat dairy, but I love putting goat cheese on spinach and adding beets and a nice balsamic vinaigrette. I am a cornbread fan and, in case you didn't figure it out, I am a foodie too! lol

@Katmary71 Thanks! Your beach routine sounds really, really lovely. That's good news about your uncle.

@TeresaW1020 Thank you! Yes it was really nice to get out and get some fresh air by the beach. Way to go, doing barre and tracking! Nicely done!

@its_cleo Thanks. I should go to the beach more than I actually do.

@Wishusdonna Your pictures are so very beautiful! What a nice walk it must have been.

Hello everyone! I've been using the air fryer function on my Ninja Foodi more lately and let me tell you, it's been really helpful and amazing. As you know, yesterday was not only taco Tuesday but Cinco de Mayo and as a Southern Californian, I couldn't let the day pass without celebrating it. I cut up some corn tortillas and lightly brushed them with some olive oil with some spices and air fried them and they came out really crispy like tortilla chips. I also air-fried some spiced chicken breast pieces and sliced up vegetables to make chicken fajitas. It was a nice dinner.

Tiny habits checkin:

Tuesday Check-In!
Good day 🟢
Calories: 🟢 all good, on-plan choices; everything weighed/measured and tracked
Water: 🟢
Exercise 🟢
- Jenny Ford / Freedom Fit YouTube Channel - Step Across America Program-At-Home Workouts (Beat COVID-19) Step Aerobics Beginner - South Dakota and Florida workouts (60 min)
- Sydney Cummings YouTube Channel - 20 Minute Resistance Band Stretch - Great stretching, and a b and is not required. I think shoulder stretching is dicey (such an easy area to injure; those muscles are small), so I modify that section.
Tuesday Goals 🟢
- Cardio platform workout - 45 minutes ✔️
- Tiny Habit - Gardening (pull at least one weed!) ✔️
- Meal planning ✔️
- Grocery shopping ✔️

Wednesday Goals
- Cardio platform workout - 45+ min
- Yoga or stretching - 15+ min
- Tiny Habit - Gardening (pull at least one weed!)
- Meal prep (lots of veggies and fruits to wash) ✔️
- Finalize Tiny Habits and start tracking on the Tracker! Tuesday is my packed day, so I set this aside yesterday. Coming back to it today. Pinning it here because I SO want a green check next to it tomorrow!

Wednesday check in

Welp - I feel pretty good today. Got all of my habits so far and have redeployed a strategy to combat the night eating. It is often tied to having a couple of drinks so tonight I am sticking with one - and I have a mocktail early, have dinner and enjoy the one drink later in the evening. The food is in so no rush of alcohol and it's late enough so that I don't feel like having another. I also just....feel a bit stronger today. More resolute and in a good head space. Not going to jinx it by going on and on; suffice to say, I feel a bit more like Successful Maria today and that's a nice feeling.

The position I spoke with the guy for yesterday is not interested in a remote worker but they may want a second hire once they secure the first person, and that is a possible remote position - I'm not willing to relocate. What I want to do is somewhat niche in the clinical research realm (Trial Master File (TMF) Manager/Director for anyone who may know what that is) and there is a need. It may be hard to come by as quickly as I might like so I am looking into setting myself up as a contractor. Onward and upward, right...? =>

@Wishusdonna I was so tickled to see your update! What a chuckle about your duty, or dooty!! Haha, I'd be the hubby on that one, I have a terribly weak stomach! It seems you have done well in the interim and have hit a sweet spot. Ha, if I had a Zoom group to join for a drink, I'd likely sign up right away! Yay for biscuit turnbacks!
@mrmcgrath I did find the tip from @TeresaW1020 worked really well - I disconnected my Fitbit on the web version as it suggested after I tried to fetch the data and it didn't update. Once I did that, it synced through yesterday. Still didn't add today yet but I'll check tomorrow
@AustinRuadhain and @Katmary71 thanks so much for the breathing reminder for stress!! I have found in the past that this type of thing is a tremendous help and it actually works pretty quickly for me
@Katmary71 thanks for all of these chair vids!!! I still haven't done them but I'm saving them!
@Cornanda thinking of you on your Tiny Habits quest! It's interesting that you have pinpointed the need to dissect larger goals into the smaller and more manageable kind! Way to go on that thought work!!! =>
@TeresaW1020 sometimes chocolate happens, right?!? Looks like you're doing a good jcleob on the habits and exercise so I think some chocolate on one day won't define the week! => By the way - the Goals Mindfulness is now my desktop pic - LOVE IT
@its_cleo I am so in the same boat for the dentist. My appointment for March was cancelled and it will take me months to get in - when I can finally reach them to even schedule something. =< It really might be a year between visits. YAY YOU for resisting an urge on fast food! I call that a win!! And extra points for the habits!! =>
@vegan4lyfe2012 wow, very poignant dream, thanks for sharing!! Steph, dream or real, is so right!! Every day, every meal, every bite is an opportunity to improve and it's NEVER too late. So proud of you for seeing what you need to do - start small and celebrate all the wins!!! Really looking forward to hearing all about those.... =>
@bethanie0825 nice weigh in, I'm hoping mine tomorrow is a loss!!

@WishUsDonna I love your photo, I like doing yoga under my oak tree. It took me a minute to spot that gorgeous dog! What are you growing this year? I went to the grocery store and seeds were on sale, I came home with parsley and chives, totally forgetting my dad is giving me the extra parsley seedlings from the pot he bought (I found curly and bought that but prefer Italian flat leaf for eating) and that I saved garlic chive seeds from when mine flowered a few years ago. I now have over 20 pots that I need to include in the drip system, I think not getting out much is making me get too excited and I overdo it when I do!

@deadpheonixrising I'm glad you're able to look on the bright side. It's a frustrating time to deal with injuries, it's hard enough to push through workouts without having to alter them for injuries. Hang in there! What kind of lettuce are you growing? I tried looseleaf indoors and it was so thin I had to toss it all. We're going into the upper 90s so I think it's too late for more lettuce or spinach.

@AustinRuadhain You found a Sydney Cummings with a resistance band that's stretch???! OMG, I'm so excited now! Wow, I've officially gone YouTube crazy, the things I look forward to these days. I didn't wait to hear from the woman I was swapping beets with and she can't pick up the box due to work, I may just be trying beets on salad if I decide to give them another chance. They were ok with lots of balsamic fig dressing on them, I may just do that, I don't hate them, just prefer so many other veggies. They're supposed to be really good for blood pressure but I refuse to pay for beet juice! My brother's only a few miles away and he loves them so I'll just cook one and see how it goes.

@vegan4lyfe2012 What a beautiful dream, it sounds like it came to you at just the right time! It's never too late to improve your life, you got this! I bet she was really touched to hear from you and what a positive influence she is to you. It's wonderful to have such supportive people in our lives.

@raleighgirl09 You know me, if you need more seated workouts just let me know and I can hook you up! I actually have people following my main YouTube playlist now!

@AustinRuadhain For some reason that link was blocked so I just went to YouTube and did a search on Sidney Cummings, stretch, and resistance bands, there's a bunch plus ones with mini-resistant bands (just got them a few weeks ago). I've been choosing a stretch routine I've never done every day so I'm set for over a week now, thank you!

Wednesday check-in
Exercise- all of Kym's exercise videos for limited mobility, triceps and biceps, Sidney Cumming full body stretch. Debating on foam rolling.
Water- OK, I knew I shouldn't buy it but I did, I bought Diet Pepsi instead of just getting my 1 bottle when I shop, I've gone through 4 already and was going back for another when I made myself make tea instead, and it's super warm tonight! Diet Pepsi doesn't make me hungry but whenever I have diet I want more so I figured it was dumb to pay for a bunch of chemicals when I could get used to water. Normally I'm great with my ginger/cinnamon water but there's DIET PEPSI in the house! It's like chocolate! Bought pretzels too and had a couple servings but it's all measured and logged, no overeating.

Habits
Cardio 30 minutes- done. Overdone. I dared myself to do all of Kym's videos, they're all short and I didn't realize just how many there were until I was too close to finishing to NOT finish! I'm usually energized after working out but was pretty worn out at the end.
Weights- legs still on hold, third day of upper body
Yoga/stretching and core- done. Heck, even if the chair videos weren't hardcore ab workouts from all the twisting there were some arms and abs ones in there too. Who needs planks and sit ups, though I did those too!
Recipe- Another area I can't make up my mind, I'll be gone tomorrow night but have ground turkey in the fridge. I'm going to stop at a store on Friday and need to decide between about 5 recipes or else the meat will go bad and I don't want to buy ingredients for all of them! It's down skinnytaste recipes for naked Persian burgers, Greek naked burgers, Zuchinni turkey noodle-less lasagna, or cheesy mac but with turkey instead of beef, or a large meatball recipe. Whatever it is most have at least a few servings so it'll be double-servings and/or eating it for half a week. That's my problem, too many choices!
10,000 steps- done. I'm getting a lot of those during chair exercises though.

I can't decide what to do about Habit Tracker, if I knew when my legs would be ready to go again then I could figure out a routine that places less stress on them but obviously I just have to wait it out so that leaves cardio and weights up in the air. My June weight-lifting goals are trashed from no gym but I'm ok with that, just a little unsure for the first time in a long time. Still stretching/doing yoga and core exercises for my mobility. Recipe is hit-or-miss at this point, it's fun to try new things but not always affordable. I joined Tiny Habits 5 day but only came up with one thing. Have an idea on the second, I'll give it more thought tomorrow. Nothing major and not in a slump, just real indecisive right now.

My uncle's definitely going to require surgery, he needs a valve replacement due to the infection. They're trying to figure out what type of valve and making sure the infection is cleared up so it doesn't affect the new valve.

@Katmary71 have you tried roasting them, yet? I cut them into small pieces (diced would work really well if you're thinking of adding them to a salad or as part of something) drizzle olive oil, salt and pepper. Garlic powder added would be good, too. Roast until tender. I like them warm on top of quinoa that has roasted garlic mashed in or cold on top of salad....or even as a snack. But I do love me a beet, so factor that craziness in. =>

Hi Team! Quick check in before I head off to make dinner. Tonight it's tuna salad sandwiches and my mom's macaroni salad that is leftover from yesterday. Yum!! I went to staff meeting today and now we are hoping to open the church at the end of June. We are just really hoping that the shelter in place for seniors lifts on June 12th that it's supposed to. Yesterday, my hubby (who is a senior) wanted to go out so we went to Home Depot. Who knew that Home Depot could be turned into such a fun outing. :D

Tiny Habits suffered today since I took today off from working out and am still 3000 steps away from getting my daily 6000. I also didn't fast today. But I did track all my food. So at least I can count one thing!

Thursday check in

Well, I've had a pretty good day! Getting a lot done on Linked In for the job search and that is starting to feel a little more solid under my feet. Food life and weight loss journey also feels good - sleep and water, on target. Exercise and steps, all good. Food planning and choices, no night eating - excellent. Also.....bi-product of not working is that I'm doing a lot of cooking and it's been fun. Hubby said he anticipates looking back on this time and being nostalgic for the great meals I'm cooking. =>

@AustinRuadhain haha, it's funny how the conversations here can get so involved! You're an inspiration for the 'home gym' we all find ourselves in!
@TeresaW1020 Home Depot can totally be a date night!
@gwamajtw91 unless you've been super packing in the cals, this is probably also partly water weight. Now - I get it - weight is weight. But when it's the sloshy kind, it is a bit easier and faster t get it off. We believe in you, you'll get it back off!!

By the way - wanted to share this here:
https://copymethat.com/

If you are not familiar, this is a great place to get all those saved and fave web recipes in one place with pics, etc. I still run them through MFP to see the cals and then I note that for the recipe. I was having trouble finding recipes I had bookmarked (waaaay too many!). Hope you find this interesting, if not down right helpful!! =>
