Hi everyone! My day was fine yesterday. Took the day off from logging everything. I often give myself one day. Should get more steps in today. Going to a protest to fight for our US Postal Service.

@YinxFed You can definitely see the difference. You look so much more toned. You are right. That scale does not tell the whole story. Keep at it. Don’t be discouraged. We are right here for you. I don’t think anyone really cares that much about our ranking. We are just glad you are here.

I just keep inching down lol. I did notice I've been in the green for the past 4 weeks, even if by tiny bits. So I'm pretty happy about that! Currently not so sure I'll be to 239 lbs by the end of the month but I will at least be closer!

Steps for the week:
I managed to at least meet my weekly goal of 35,000. This neck/shoulder pain is a real bummer. Tomorrow is my appointment with the chiropractor and massage. I really REALLY hope I feel better after.
I have more veggies to put up this week, thinking basil pesto, dill pickles and maybe stewed tomatoes.

Thought I’d post photos of my breakfast and lunch. I am working to be very intuitive and mindful about my eating. Lunch was late so we have now thrown off a normal time dinner. Eat when hungry, right.
Got some steps in at a protest to protect our US Postal Service from dismantling by the Postmaster, who lives here in my town.

Another 20 hour fast in the books! Today was much better and I had tons of energy.
Helped hubby redo the landscaping (we do 8 foot sections in the early mornings when we don’t have baseball. ) Shoveling out rubber mulch, Shoveling in dirt, digging up monkey grass, separating monkey grass, replanting, putting down landscape fabric, and covering with rubber mulch.
As soon as we finished, mom called and went went for a 2.2 mile hilly walk at the park. Then to the grocery store and sitting down to eat for the first time since supper last night.
Staying busy definitely helped with today’s day and I don’t think about food until it was time to eat supper.

Hello Fresh day 2 worked waaay better. We made some changes based on what we learned yesterday and got an actual yummy, good looking meal. If you ignore my botched attempt at putting cheese on the beans.

Weeks are arbitrary. Whether today is Sunday or Thursday, always consider it the last day of the week. Then, so what if the week is ruined? Its over and tomorrow is the start of a new one.2 -

Exactly! We will always have bumps. You can’t let it make you feel bad. What do you think you really want as you eat this “junk”? Are you looking for sweet, crunch, comfort? I am learning that when we want something, we should have it. Convincing yourself that it’s not “bad” or off limits will help you moderate when you want it. Portion out what ever it is and really taste and enjoy it. No guilt. I’ll remind you if you spilled a little wine on your shirt, you wouldn’t say, “Oh well, I spilled some so I might was well spill the whole bottle on my shirt.” It’s not all or nothing. Have what you want guilt free and figure out why you wanted/needed it. Then move on. We are in this for the long haul. 🤗

Drop by the week 3 challenge - it is all about reflecting on the day or week, and learning what to do to change the bits we don't like. And forgive ourselves for those things too, since they help us figure it out.

WTG @jguldi11 - you are on your 3rd week in the green. And you had 9 previous green weeks too! Those small increments add up. Have fun making pesto and other wonderful stuff! It's just about a daily task right now.
I had a day of cravings - just wanted to eat all the things - but after a fairly long and heavy shovel/cultivator/rake session in part of the garden, I was so hot that plain old cold fizzy water did the job. I had the 2 spoons of ice cream (@micki48 you're so right! taste and enjoy, but don't eat the whole danged thing). Then I took a good long walk with a friend and her 2 snorting pugs, so by the time dinner rolled around, I was happy with the amazing dish that my garden gave me for today.
So off we go week 3 - tally ho!2 -

So sorry this is late! Between work and homework, last week was insane. Today is the first day school, although virtual. So here we go!

So my steps for yesterday were 10,103
Was actually more, but did you know when you go grocery shopping and you hold the cart, your steps don't count... I walked ALL over that store, multiple times, ( Yeah, I kept forgetting stuff).. See normally my hubby goes with me, and he is the cart pusher and I'm the selector.. well I went after getting my hair did, so I was all kinds of discombobulated.. ya shoulda seen when the checkout lady told me I needed to put the bags in my cart.. I was like Oh *kitten*, yeah... sorry.. LMAO I felt like such a dummy... Anyway walked out with 900 steps, but walked in with 600... I was like WTF...
ANYWHO... My goal for this week, is a little different, so we can earn money for walking through my Health Ins... anyway you can earn $3.00 a day, you have to get the FIT
F = Frequency - so you have to get 500 steps in 7 minutes, 6 times a day, has to be an hour apart, so a 1 hour walk only gives you 1 of the 6
I = Intensity - you have to get 3000 steps in a 30 minute period
T= I can't remember what the T stands for tenacity maybe ?? , but to earn that dollar you have to get 10k steps..
The weather is cooler this week, so I am planning on getting 2-3 quick little walks here at work, so I can get those Frequency steps.. I got 2 this morning, so If I can get at least 2 here at work, getting 2 when I get home won't be hard... My intensity is already done, I did 30 minute video this morning, so that is one I get most days...
I also want to get 2 yoga sessions in, and 2 strength training sessions in... I don't think I am even giving myself a time on those, because getting 10k steps is tough when you sit at a desk for 9 hrs a day... But the main goal is to earn that $ 21.00

Weekends are so hard for me. I spend so much time in the kitchen and there are so many treats. Once I let go, eat that first chocolate, I cannot stop
I should know better, as I do this every week but somehow I keep repeating this pattern. 2 weekend days of eating everything in sight & no logging and then 5 good days. It's so frustrating because I know how bad this is but I still do it
It's really easy to get wrapped into this pattern, isn't it? That's why "repeating behaviors and expecting different results" is called, "insanity". I live this one every so often and it is definitely irksome. The only way to change a habit is to replace it with something else. Make a small change and celebrate the heck out of it so you feel really good about yourself. "Tiny Habits" is a great book and way to shift our thinking around habits. I highly recommend it.
@micki48 I blew it on getting steps reported - I was so intent on competing with the work week fitbit crew I misplaced myself!
@jugar what a great fb party! I know it had some issues but hey, Paul was able to get Meme online to see most all of us so that was a major accomplishment! I hope Donald and Cindy weren't annoyed that Mom gave away 2 of her 4 lobsters! I personally think it was really nice of her to do that considering how much Christine has done for her without letting her pay her. Send me a pm and let me know how to get you some moolah to pay for the meal plans, etc.
I'll be off and running (only a figure of speech in my case) shortly and plan on a great bunch of exercise including water time - I'll be sure to let you know how much and what type so you can translate it into steps for me. Thanks!

Summer bbq's and celebrating have been hard on the diet over the last few days 😁 My mother in law keeps making homemade potato salad...God help me 😌 It was my mother in law's birthday yesterday so we had cheeseburgers, more potato salad and watermelon. For dessert she asked me to make chocolate waffles. It's boxed cake mix that you just cook in the waffle iron and top with icecream and hot fudge. Well the scale is up today. It is so tempting to panic and be super strict but I know that is not the way to go and leads to trouble. Who wants to live on the roller coaster anyway? So today I am focusing on eating more vegetables and doing my normal workouts.4

@YinxFed@tobeme3 So sorry to hear about your foot. Walking in pain sucks! It's a wonder that you managed those steps - well done you!
Perhaps you can try some gentle indoor walking workouts? That's what I'm going to be doing to supplement my workouts this week (Heather Robertson is great, but I am fit for almost nothing after doing a 30-40 minute session!)
You certainly have a varied workout routine - I like to switch my workouts up too.

Thanks for the suggestion. It's good to consider alternatives, instead of forsaking workouts complete and I was wondering what the heather robertson workouts were. I'll have to check that out.
And happy to hear you are not worrying about the gain, you look great in both of the photos but definitely see the definition more in the right hand-side pic. I have a similar body type to you I think and slightly lighter skin.

@Conleywoods Good attitude. Just get back on it. There will always be special celebrations. Learning to navigate them perfectly would likely take a lifetime or beyond. Glad it didn't derail you.
@gidgitgoescrazy Wow! That's a cool program and it's always fun to get money FROM our insurance instead of giving it TO them! Go for the Gold and get that $21. I'm rooting for you. I find that sometimes happens with steps too. I think it's because it's also slower too. I hold the handle pushing the stroller, but walk at a good pace and it picks steps up. I have seen around the house, steps not getting picked up. It's really not a perfectly accurate system. We all know you are great at getting your activity in.

I did get in 18 minutes of exercise (4 minutes jogging in place and 14. doing a pretty intense pilates workout) today. Food is going well. Feel very satisfied. Need to get a good bit of water right now because I feel thirsty.

Hi all.
Thank you all for the lovely messages of support and suggestions . It's hard to break old habits, but I won't give up. I was hoping that my initial motivation/drive will last a bit longer, but hey I'm in this for the long haul.
We're on holiday for one week. I won't be able to log everything but I will try to eat mindfully. There will be a lot of hiking so hopefully that will off-set some of the sandwiches/BBQs.
I will be happy of I can maintain this week, especially considering my 3 day 'wobble'.

Monday madness!
Today, I established the SZS - the Secret Zucchini Society. I have so many zucchini that I keep looking for more ways to use them up. They are taking over the universe here. So I was making a batch of sorbet - blueberries and mango, with lots of citrus zest. As it was in the blender getting totally smoothed out before hitting the freezer, I threw in a peeled, seeded zucchini. I just did it for the texture. It was a compulsion. But you know what? When I had some after dinner, it was really good! Secret zucchini, people! Go for it! You can hide it anywhere...
I was really tired today, for no particularly good reason, but after a big rain shower, got a good walk in anyhow, and that revived me. Energy is back! I will get to bed earlier tonight, though.

Good to hear that you are going to be back on the good track after celebrations - that is how to do it! Those chocolate waffles sound like they are brought to your table by someone in a red body suit, horns, and an evil grin - but as long as you aren't eating them again any time soon, why not? And potato salad - don't let that word "salad" suck you in!

Good luck with the new school year beginning - this one like none other. Hang in there, and pace a lot while you're on the phone! You can keep up some of those steps to keep from going too crazy

Today was a good day. My husband and I were ready for a change after all the rich food lately. We had a meatless Monday and it felt great. Breakfast was oven roasted potatoes, scrambled eggs and peaches. Lunch was pearl couscous, falafels and a yogurt dill sauce on a bed of greens, carrots and tomatoes. Dinner was blueberry muffins, grapes, hard boiled eggs and plain yogurt with granola and strawberry jam. I have never made falafel's before and they were excellent.
Workouts for today: I shortened my walk to 30 minutes because it was really hot out. Did a ballet beautiful dvd- 60 minute super model series. I just got the DVD and I really liked it. Earned a shower today!
