@theweeonemfp You are the Queen 👑 of meal planning. That is a sure way to success and less stress. Your Cajun Chicken looks yummy. What do you put in it for spice? And is that bacon or andouille?
@Gidgitgoescrazy Way to goal on earning those $$. Sorry to hear you burnt your pot and couscous. Tip pretty much take it off the heat as soon as you put the couscous in the boiling liquid.1 -

I don't but it makes sense. See: chocolate coated pretzels, salted caramel, chocolate covered bacon, etc. Salt and sweet taste perfect together.2 -

I am watching your dog bounce off the walls wearing the cone of shame, @conleywoods ! I think the vets overestimate the time needed to recover from these things. The cone is helpful, but if the dog is not in pain, let it move around! It will stop when it hurts. And look at you with the big puppy eyes. Because this is all your fault! Good thing you were able to take the little wild thing for a walk. I hope the cone stays on long enough for everything to heal!
And the burning pan of couscous! @Gidgitgoescrazy The lengths we will go to just to rid ourselves of a pan we hate! My last hated pan actually got run over by the tractor. I left it in the way after emptying its contents into the compost - I had other stuff to do, so it just sat there, and DH just happened to drive there with the tractor. I was not sorry to see the last of that pan! But burned couscous sounds pretty bad
@offitgoes - your daughter does indeed have your back! I hope the other one learned a small lesson today, and in a way this was the perfect way for everyone. DD1 learned that the gift was undermining your weight loss goals, DD2 got to save the day, and you did not eat it!
@jguldi11 - I'm so glad your chiro and massage helped. It makes such a difference to be able to move the way you want to. I'm off to the acupuncturist tomorrow - I skipped last week to see if it was really helping, and the swelling and inflammation definitely increased. So I'm heading back there for some relief! It is good to do what we need to do!

I don't, but I remember watching my uncle do that as I was growing up. He would be salt and pepper, especially pepper, on his watermelon.0 -
Perhaps I'm extremely late figuring this out, but has anyone every looked at your MFP stats in weekly view rather than just daily? I just noticed this tonight, although I've been on MFP for 2 years. This is such a DUH!!!! LOL I think I like this view even better; I don't have to do math! LOL

Oh work is bombarding me right now. I knew it was coming, we have our annual state audit soon. I'm also training 2 new people and have an intern starting next week. On top of my caseload of 50+ and 8 other supervisees. I so badly wanted to stress-eat yesterday but all I had in the house that was close to what I wanted was a pudding cup, fig brownie, and whipped cream 😆 so I made due with that. I purposely keep high calorie junk food out of the house for this reason.
I think I'll try to get a walk in today after work to de-stress. I'm avoiding the gym until my neck has more time to heal. Chiro adjustment #2 was even more effective!
@conleywoods Stress is a real pain, especially when trying to lose weight. You have great insight which is so important; that number on the scale is simply that, a number. It will go back down soon enough. I've been telling people since COVID that we really get to try out our flexibility and resiliency skills!
@evangsimmons170 Ya know I used that weekly view before a really long time ago (like years haha) but completely forgot about it lol. Thanks for the reminder!
@jugar I have been thinking about acupuncture for fertility but just haven't made the move yet. There is so much research supporting its use for a lot of different things. Glad you find success with it! I may just have to try it.
@micki48 thank you, I'm so happy I got over my fear and insecurities and got the treatment I needed. It's amazing how much we take our bodies for granted until they don't function properly.2 -

My scale is suddenly wonky. I stepped on and it was really high. I shifted it a little, it was really low. I picked up and moved it and it was right in the middle.🤷♀️ This week has been stressful. I am teaching and prepping all day and had some mom fails with my personal kids. They missed some meets and assignments. I seriously thought about quitting. This weekend, I am determined to spend some time with my kids and unwind. I worked all last weekend.6 -

There are some seriously good losses in this batch of weigh-ins, and this cheerful video made by our own Rhonda is fantastic! What a way to encourage your staff, parents, and kids! Amazing. My weight may be up tomorrow. Lunch at work was catered today. Pulled pork sandwiches with potato salad and fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. Soooo good, omg. Pulled pork is a gift from a loving deity I swear.4 -

Hi Everyone! I thought I'll check in with you
I'm very sorry but this post will be very long and very honest.
Over the last few weeks I posted some really personal stuff in this group and then got scared and deleted it all. I guess it was some kind of cry for help.
I needed a brake from the challenge because I wanted to start my own business, but after couple of days researching I gave up. This pandemic situation is so bad for economy that I'm just too scared to start it. My credit cards got hit quite badly recently and that gave me sleepless nights. It would be really bad idea to get into more debt.
The last few years were quite stressful for me. Lots of little things crept up and yesterday I finally broke down to my husband, I couldn't stop crying all day and we decided to ring the doctor.. I think yesterday was the day that everything hit home, I am not sure what's different about yesterday, but I'm hoping I'll start feeling better in myself soon.
For 20 years I worked in catering - long hours, evenings and weekends! I had less time for family but more money. I got fed up and quit that job, my husband and our three boys we moved to different town and I got jobs in schools, so evenings, weekends and half terms off. I was on top of the world for about 8 months, but that's when the debts started creeping in on my credit card.. Jobs in school weren't as well payed as catering hours and more outgoings on the house meant that I used my card more often. I was too proud to tell my husband about me struggling (moving house and changing jobs was my idea).
In January, two days before my husbands birthday his dad passed away, it was sad times for all of us. In February my mum in law's house got flooded, but biggest blow was in March: my son admitted to his teacher that 3 years ago he was abused by family member. My world just collapsed. Police and social services were involved and it was horrendous couple of months, then pandemic and lockdown happened 😞 my youngest son's epilepsy resurfaced... I'm just almost broken lady at the moment. I eat and drink 😭
Last year I was on top of the world, running and doing couch to 5k with my son's and in the last week I had trouble of getting out of bed 😞 I don't sleep at nights and if I do I wake up with panic attacks - feels like my heart is jumping out of my chest. I worry about everything and if I have nothing to worry about, I sure find something else to worry about! LOL I've put on 7lbs since I last weighed in for the challenge. I'm hoping to get rid of it before September
So hopefully I'll get a little help from doctors and with your encouragement I'm hoping I'll be back to my happy self 😊
I'm really happy I made this step yesterday. Feel better about it already 😊

@ells_runs I know you may not think so right now, but you are stronger than you think. The fact that you shared your heart with us and more importantly reached out to a doctor yesterday assures me that you WILL pull through this. I cannot imagine the hurt and pain you are going through right now, especially with your son. But I will be praying for you and your family. I believe God will see you all through this ordeal. Lean on us anytime. Trust God all the time.6

@ells_runs wow, I'm so sorry you and your family have been having such a hard time. Considering all the stressors it's amazing that you're making your health a priority. What a great example you are setting for your kids! I appreciate your openness and can say from experience (personally and as a therapist) that being willing to talk about it is one of the hardest challenges to overcome, and you've already done that. You got this!!3

My heart goes out to you, and I am so grateful you chose to share this with us. Things have piled up, and with help and your own fabulous courage, you can take them down one small bit at a time. It won't be easy, but you have done hard things before, including sharing this with us. There is no such thing as "too honest" in this kind of situation - getting it all out in the open is the best thing to do to get ready to start making it better. Get well, get help, and you'll get through this. Never hesitate to let us know anything that might help. Maybe an accountability buddy to help keep the food and drink under control, or just to come back here to keep us updated on how you're doing. In any case, you know we are rooting for you and your family.4 -
TGIF! I really need the break from the office. Tomorrow I'm going to the local farmer's market with a couple of friends, and then going to the beach; Sunday I get to go meet some puppies to see if I'm ready to adopt a new family member. So excited to enjoy the weekend! And Monday I have another chiropractor and massage appointment.
I love having things to look forward to, makes it a lot easier to leave behind the bad stuff.
Eating was ok today, not the healthiest but portions were appropriate. I also went for a walk and feel really good about it.2 -

Today was a really good day at the gym. For the first time since coming back post-COVID I hit a new PR. I lifted 175# on the rack which is actually more than I weigh now so that was pretty exciting. It is a lot of fun to feel my muscles getting stronger and see the changes in the way my body moves.7

Today I didn't do any workouts. I really need to get back on track with calories and some times I give myself too much leeway when I have exercised. Calories were great today.
I went through my closet and got rid of stuff that is too big. I did a little bit of sewing to improve the fit of a few of my favorite items that are baggy. I definitely need to go shopping before work starts again.
