@AustinRuadhain Thank you, I appreciate that. I needed to see that graphic as much as anyone!!! <3

@Katmary71 Your "ice cream" sounds divine! I have an ice cream/yogurt maker and I may have to make some this weekend. Right now is the perfect time for some! ;) Congrats on 4 weeks of Paleo. Do you feel any different since being on it? Yes to thank goodness for the air fryer: I feel the same way! Been using my Ninja Foodi/air fryer a lot lately.

@GretchenReine Focusing on steps and water sounds like a good plan. Good luck!

Hello all. Feeling about the same today, still about a 4-5 out of 10 on the pain scale but hoping for a better afternoon. I ate terribly yesterday, just eating my feelings. Did it help? NO. I hope to be back to my cheerful self soon.

Week 3 weigh in Thursday (20Aug2020)
    Previous weight:169.9
    Current weight: 169.8
    LTD MFP #2 65.2 lbs
    LTD overall 130.2 lbs
    Steps Thur-Wed: 79,429 (down from last week) (hi- 16,944 / lo- 5,031)

I'm more than fine with this weight loss - I had a lot of extra calories on most of the days, not sure how it happened. Not gonna argue it, though. Had my second time this month with a day less than 10,000 steps - I was with a friend who, it turns out, has no tolerance for heat of any kind and I didn't want to take off for an hour to get my usual walk so I chose to be ok with the circumstance and result.

Team - I am pooped. Between working about 30 hours a week, cooking for two extra folks and driving back and forth to my mom's (I am Meals on Wheels at the moment!), I just don't have much left at the end of the day. I have read all the posts...so many good things (twins on the way! Losses, energy, getting back after not feeling well!) and some life gotchya by the short hairs (gains, illnesses, pain, lacking of oomph for the plan and the goals!) and I'm cheering you on! I am - inside!! =>

What the heck will I do if/when I get a regular job??? I don't like these 30 hours, let alone 40 and - GAH - I used to do 50 as a treat to myself and have known a crap ton of 60 and 70 hour weeks..... How'd I do that????

Mama sho' 'nuff does not have the oomph for that nonsense, no mo', no mo'.

@GretchenReine Great thinking to tell your moom you're going to the gym, the accountability will help you out! It's tough to get going again after stopping, just keep reminding yourself that you'll be so proud of yourself on the other side of it. Keep fighting the good fight, you got this!

    @MommaGemz Great loss, wtg!

@trooworld My pain is a little better, it's just going real slow. I hear ya about not feeling better when pain-stress eating, I always cared the next morning but when the pain levels hit 8 and up I just didn't give a hoot anymore. I'm hoping your pain levels go down quickly!

@gwamajtw91 Nice loss, way to go with the running!

@raleighgirl09 Yay, scale's going the right way! You sound incredibly busy, I hope things slow down for you soon! I'm glad you had the chance to spend time with your friend, it's so important now to spend time with loved ones when we're able to do so.

Exercise- arm cardio, resistance band for arms, resistance band for legs for the splits, stretching
    Water- good
    Calories- under

Still need to meditate but it's super smoky outside so I'll probably just do it in my room tonight. Made it to Costco today and am pretty burned out even with Eric's help. He brought his two cats, the male has never been here before and tries to claim the "people" which is not going well with my outgoing cat so they're hissing and growling but nothing serious yet. The female is ruling my house and bossing both my boys around, it's pretty pathetic as she's a tiny little thing. School starts next week, I'm hoping I'll be able to concentrate enough through the pain to learn, it's been really hard concentrating on things like movies or books (and I'm reading what has to be the worst Kat Martin book I've ever read and I normally enjoy her books). My new Fitbit's on it's way, mine failed the "good enough for repairs" test. That's all on this end!

    Thursday Check-In
Exercise - walk with husband, 50 minutes
    Water - good
Food - calories under, all on-plan food choices (though I ate less than usual, as I was busy; ah, well)

So, I must say, I am having a moment of not recognizing myself. I am at crunch time on a project, and I am not stuffing my face with sugar to get through, and it's... odd. I occasionally remember that faintly as how I used to deal with this. Three years ago, I'd have gone though several Mexican Cokes a day on this project. Today I had whispers of wanting that, thank the inner voice for sharing ("Sugar! Sugar is the answer!"), drink my favorite Celestial Seasonings fruit-y teas and extra Topo Chico, and I am okay. At least today I was!

@Katmary71 - I am so sorry your Kat Martin novel is not working out. I hate being disappointed by a book by an author I usually love. 👐🏽

Semi-funny book story you made me think of. I am in two book groups, and they both picked the same book this month. Convenient? You would think so. But noooo, not so much. I am Not Loving the Book. First book group met, and I had just read the first couple of stories (it's a short story collection). Listened to, actually, as the library only has a downloadable audiobook of this moderately obscure book. Anyway, I couldn't stand to go to a second book group not having finished the same book, so I figured out how to increase the playback speed so it would be over sooner. The narrator is not great, and I think I'd have enjoyed it better in print or as an ebook! Anyway, almost done. I have been feeling like a recalcitrant 2 year old about this! 😂

@raleighgirl09 - 🎉 Hurray for being down, even a smidge! It's all steps in the right direction!
I get you about being pooped. It sounds like a lot is going on in your life. And I think there's so much going on in the world that it is draining overall. Anyway, sending hugs, and being thankful you are here.

@gwamajtw91 -- Woohoo! Keep up the great running! SO glad it is paying off! And I'll bet that means you are eating well, too! Go, you! 👍🏽

@trooworld - I hope your pain level improves soon. In the meantime, your cheerfulness is not required. And we are so appreciative that you are here, being yourself. 👐🏽

Okay, off to bed! Time for a nap!

@AustinRuadhain OMG, first, enjoy that tea! I keep forgetting to log my tea but drink it every day. I grew up on Diet soda, went to Crystal Light, and now drink ginger cinnamon iced tea every day and cooled off hot tea at night, love the stuff! As for the book I had to laugh, I love to read unless I HAVE to read, school assignment reading drove me nuts! I always feel I have to finish what I start too. I have a block against podcasts, I watch them on advanced speed or I get bored. It's so much faster to just read than listen to someone drone on!

    Friday check-in

So I went to the gym yesterday AND actually worked out. I did an hour on the treadmill. I was sweaty and gross afterwards. I guess that's a good thing. I still don't feel like I've gotten my groove back. I know it takes time. I brought my workout clothes with me so I can go after work today.

Oh...and I hit my 10,000 steps yesterday. I hadn't hit those in over a week I'm sure. Let's see if I can do it 2 days in a row!!! LOL

@raleighgirl09 Congrats on the loss. Hang in there, life seems busy and flies by, but it's good that you can be there for your mom.

@Katmary71 I'm glad to hear your pain is a little better. Thanks re: my pain level...I'm going to make an appointment with a pain management specialist. Yesterday, my doctor prescribed me the equivalent of Ibuprofen and of course it didn't help! :( What are you studying in school? I will be thinking good thoughts for you.

@AustinRuadhain That's great that you aren't eating sugar to get through, congrats! Thank you re: the pain level. I hope it improves soon too.

Tomorrow is move in day. (both kids- off to college) Sometimes I'm happy and excited for them. Sometimes I'm sad for me. There are several things I'm looking forward to once this is done. I skipped some weight lifting and cardio videos this week- took walks to think through my feelings. Did some journaling. Didn't log or pay much attention to food. Looking forward to getting back on track next week. Have a good weekend everyone!

@Cornanda I wish you and your kids the very best as they go off to college. It will be good for you to get back to focusing on yourself. :)

@GretchenReine Good job on doing an hour on the treadmill and getting in all your steps. If you just keep doing it you will find that exercise will become a real habit that you will want to do. embrace the What I’ve gained in strength and flexibility is my motivation to embrace the sweat and sore muscles. ;)

@AustinRuadhain First off I had to Google Mexican Coke to find out what that is. Reviews say it tastes better than American Coke. Could be a nice gift idea for a friend of mine who is a Coke enthusiast. :p Good for you for not giving in to the sugar calling your name. I LOVE Topo Chico!! My DH came home today with 10 bottles of San Pellegrino for me because the store was having a really good sale. Normally, I just get plain store brand seltzer, so this will be a nice treat. :grin

@Katmary71 How are the cats doing today? Can’t say I’m surprised to read that the tiny female is the boss. :grin What are going to school for? Sorry if I should already know this.

@raleighgirl09 Wahoooo on keeping your weight under 170!! And hey, you don’t worry about replying to us all right now. You have a ton going on and we are just happy to see you pop on and share your life with us. <3 I hear you about working lots of hours. I did 50+ for years and then went part-time at the church to only going in one day a week due to COVID. I admit that I’ve gotten very used to being home so much.

Hey Team! Sorry I wasn’t around yesterday. I ended up working extra at the church because my Pastor took us all out to lunch at our favorite Mexican restaurant and then I had to go back and do a bunch of stuff. I’m teaching children’s church this week and also needed to figure that all out. I’m excited to get to hang out with the kids again. I haven’t been with them since March! :) I was surprised to lose weight after eating Mexican yesterday but that was really all I had. I came home and announced that I would not be cooking dinner. DH had gone out to lunch as well, so he just went and grabbed my mom a sandwich from Subway. Today, we are going out to Chinese as a special treat and tonight I might have a couple of wine spritzers. I did do a pilates workout this morning and cleaned the house.

Have a great weekend!! *This kids face kills me! :D

    Hey gang!
    Friday check-in
Exercise- arm cardio, abs, resistance bands for the splits
    Calories- slightly over

I'm studying data analytics, I have my degree in psychology (loved experimental psych) but when I started doing better returning to go to grad school was out so I decided to take something to make myself more marketable. I started with straight IT but it wasn't a good fit and discovered I liked data analytics in my business Information systems class. I couldn't get two of the three classes I needed until now, I wouldn't have been able to physically go to college with how limited I am so Zoom is the only way I'd have been able to take them.

Cats are doing good, still some minor power struggles. Their "gotcha" day is next week, it will be a year. A year ago I was by myself just feeding the ferals and now I have two cats, am seeing someone, and have his two cats here when they come over. I'm going to celebrate their day with all the cats here so it's a party. Yeah, I don't have kids!

I was going to give up on the splits but dreamed I was able to do them so I'll have to keep fighting, I haven't improved much this month! That's what happens when you forget the person who told you 2 months is enough is 20 years younger!

@GretchenReine way to go for making it to the gym! The sweatier I get the more I earn my shower! I have essential oil soaps and lotions so I make it a whole reward, I pick what fits my mood post-workout. Keep rocking it!

2 messed up days here, meal wise.
Thursday night with what I thought would only be a nibble. Slept bad, had a hard time waking up and been cranky most of Friday morning .
Friday afternoon picked my 14 yo and drove to my sister . I missed her so much, and it’s been so great just spending time with her .
What I have forgotten is how bad my brother in law eats, and obviously he’s the only one that doesn’t gain and has abs and such. So I had mixed Chinese, and icecream, popcorn, peanuts and wine. Last one , was the only one in moderation 🙂.
Now my eyes are all puffy, my fingers are like sausages and I am planning to have a meal just of mangoes and apples tonight at home.
I’m happy though, happy I came, happy they are fine, happy to see my daughter talking and laughing with them.

@TeresaW1020 I hope you enjoy the Chinese food. I love Chinese food! :)

@Katmary71 That's good you were able to make school work for you.

Hi all. I'm happy to report I'm feeling about 70% better. Enough to cook dinner tonight, I think. This is good because I haven't been able to cook and we've either been eating takeout or whatever my husband feels like throwing together which may or may not be healthy. :/ I hope to kick it up a notch next week and have a loss of some kind. I have to turn this ship around!

@GabiV125 @trooworld - in the same boat as you guys. Started the week good and by Wednesday it just all went downhill. Work has just been crazy and the heat unbearable where I don’t really want to move🥺. Trying to try and rein it in today - let’s see how it goes.

Has anyone here heard of this app called Achievement? I guess it pays you for tracking steps? I was reading all the comments and people have actually gotten paid (in the form of gift cards). Sounds like it’s $10 for every 10,000 points so I’m assuming that’s 10,000 steps. Good incentive don’t you think?

    Have a good weekend everyone!

@anido1 I have not heard of that app but it sure would be a good incentive if I could get paid to walk. :grin

@trooworld OK, you know that it doesn’t pay to beat yourself up so knock that off. I am positive that you didn’t gain that much actual weight in one week. You’ve too much sodium, which is what I’ve done the last two days and why this morning my scale was up 4 lbs and will be up again tomorrow. So, we get back on plan and drink water like it’s our lifeline. We got this!! <3

@raleighgirl09 Holy Moly that Wolf Totem music is incredible!! Lyrics and that dude’s voice not so much but the music is so good!! B)

Hey Team! Well, my mom loved the Chinese restaurant we took her to yesterday. I thought the food was fairly bland although I still managed to eat way too much of it. We brought home a bunch of leftovers that I made for dinner today. Two days of high sodium carbs will have my weight way up tomorrow. I plan to get back on my fasting and clean eating tomorrow. I want to finish this month with a loss and not a gain! :#

@TeresaW1020 all thanks to @katmary71 !! Some fun things to hear below that I like - and realize I don't listen near as often as I used to!

I just love all kinds of music and - for reasons I do not know - find I really like music that is not in a language I understand. I listen to the college station in town that has a lot of music I have come to really like such as techno, Indian (from India) and African. I love Asian music and sometimes they play Korean music.

When I lived in Okinawa, I came to love Okinawan folk music, played all day at all of the little shops as you walk down the streets. Some of that below - not for the faint of heart, I guess, neither husband I've had enjoys it... =>
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lkC7k2MHcYM

I love the Shamisen - example of this wonderful stringed instrument below.
    https://www.senzoku-online.jp/TMDL/e/02-shamisen.html

Some of my favorites are the drums, Taiko and traditional Okinawan drums - when you are at a Taiko drum performance, the earth shakes and you feel every hit to the drum from your feet on the ground up.....sensational.
