Since It’s Saturday I’m catching up with posts and so much has happened in a week!
@FatSlayer1016 your post connected with me. My husband lost about 12 pounds during the last year and I’ve lost about 20. When we went home during the summer everyone raved about how great he looked. While not saying a word about mine? He just stopped eating a little less often... ?... and didn’t really track his food or put a lot of effort into it. A little frustrating. But I’m still on track for my goals and it’s really encouraging to be connected with everyone here.
@KellyBgetsfit thanks for always bringing a positive vibe. It’s good to read your posts.
@Gidgitgoescrazy i can’t wait to hear how your 5k goes!5 -
Sorry I've been MIA this week. On Monday my bf and I made the decision to move from VT to MI as soon as we can. We were supposed to be moving in together in northern VT where he had accepted a job, but couldn't find housing and didn't like the area. So we up and decided to move. We have both spent every state moment this week applying to jobs. It's been stressful and I have not called about food or exercise all week. I did however get a call for an interview yesterday, so maybe the stress will be ending soon. I hate my job here, so I can't wait to be gone. 🤞
Very tempted to join the maintenance team for awhile though...6 -

Not surprised. My stomach hurts and I barely slept. It was lower before the pain started so I'm guessing this increase is mostly inflammation.
My ultrasound is on Wednesday, hopefully I start getting answers soon.6 -
@micki48 My sister had been living in California for 36 years, went down to go to school and married an American. They decided about 2 years ago that they had had enough and made the move back to Canada. It was actually pretty easy for them but she had retained her Canadian citizenship so it was actually only my brother-in-law that went through the immigration process and since he was married to a Canadian it was streamlined some.
As far as what it is like living in Canada, here's my 2 cents (although you would discover if you moved here that phrase is now meaningless in Canada because we did away with our pennies a few years back ) I am sure you would find that you gained some things by moving (social programs) but you would probably encounter some disappointments (cost of living, taxation levels, access to technology depending on where you live) as well. I do think there is a different level of tolerance overall here but there are idiots in the world no matter where you live! We lived in Germany and I also spent quite a bit of time working in the US as a consultant but we have always been glad to call Canada home, perhaps now more than ever...

My son is in trouble with me today. AGAIN, he showed up to visit and brought a package of great big cookies and a pint of Haagen Dazs ice cream. Why does he do this????? I had a cookie for lunch. Now I have to figure out who to go visit to give the rest of them away!
It was so cold today! Fall starts on Tuesday, so I guess that makes sense.5 -
I had a busy day today. I did a bunch of house work and some fall cleanup. I am still just wore out! I don't know about you guys, but when I feel like that I crave carbs and sweets. Then they make me more tired and I crave more! It's not a great cycle. I'm acknowledging it and moving forward. I need a plan. I am having a hard time with food and exercise so I think I will be focusing on getting my food right. If I eat well I will have more energy to workout. For now I will only exercise if I feel like it. That will take some of the pressure off. I am also going to get my journal out and do some work on goals. I made a goal to lose 10lbs this summer and I made it to 8lbs. I need a new fall goal to keep my motivation up.5

@jugar I would eat some of those cookies for you! Ha😆😂😏2

Hi from beautiful Wales! This is the view from just outside the house we’re staying in, it’s so beautiful and we’re definitely blessed with the weather!
I’ve been eating more or less what I want but not overdoing it. Went out for a pub meal last night which was delicious, high calorie but felt deserved after our 6 mile walk. I did 20,000 steps yesterday which is a LOT for me and I can feel it in my legs this morning!
Nice to read and catch up on everything here. Hope everyone has a restful Sunday xx9 -

@eggfreak Thanks for checking on me. I'm doing well now. Worked all week. In fact, it would be too long of a post to tell you how crazy of a workweek it was. Anyway, in the midst of the crazy, I've been more determined than ever to stay focused on my good health. I'm no good to anyone when I'm sick.3

So the 5k just ended up being a walk with the dogs and husband, it took 1hr.. it didn't quite work out how i pictured it in my mind, but no biggie. We met upvwith friends friday to go to the RV show and then drinks and dinner, so I was impressed I even got up at 7am and ready to go... ... then we met up witn bil &sil and went Halloween shopping for hours.... shopping makes my back hurt so bad, its all that stopping and standing, so after about 4 hrs of that I was done...

Today we are going to Longwood Gardens, a 46 acre garden thing with various kinds of gardens and fountains and such... Then have to be home in time for the 4.30 football game... so its going to be another busy day...
Have a great day...7 -
@Gidgitgoescrazy Wow Longwood Gardens! I haven't been there in years. I'm originally from Philadelphia, PA but have been in Texas for the past 17 years. I'm sure Longwood Gardens was as beautiful as ever. Hope you can post some pics soon. Also hope you had a good time!1

Happy Sunday! I have some teenagers girl here for my daughter's 16th birthday. We got pizza and cake but I skipped the pizza and had one bite of cake. I feel good about that. I spent the day cleaning and grocery shopping. I am going to really tighten up diet this week. I am going to be realistic about my workouts. I am probably only going to get in 3. The baby wakes up to early. If I can, I will squeeze in some 10 or 20 min BOD workouts. I am going to start walking to work. It's still hot on the afternoon, but it's not that far.

Good morning!
Before I hit the tallies, I thought I'd say a quick hello. I find it interesting that three of you have mentioned getting food really together and not worrying about the exercise too much. I say you are spot on! @conleywoods @evangsimmons170 and @KellyBgetsfit (and anyone who is waiting for me to show up with cookies!) - I think you are on to a good thing here. I always found, both during the time I was working hard to lose weight and every time I have needed to recover from a period of slippage, that I really don't do well with exercise unless I get the diet part going first. Once I'm eating right, I actually feel like exercising, or at least that I'm not in such terrible shape that it is embarrassing. Eating right really changes the body feel. So go for it! Put down the cookies, grab those pickles, and grapefruits, and find the food combinations that work for you. Then exercise when you are feeling like you need to get stronger and feel even more like a superhero.
Go team go!5 -
We're #1 this week As a team, we lost almost 20 pounds!7
