Yesterday was good, I earned my $ 3 - I am at $ 28 so I am ahead of schedule to get to $50 by the end of the month.. I told my hubby I am going to do this every month then use the money to go get a massage every other month (the money goes into my HSA so I have to use it for something medical, but I can get my dr to write a script for a massage, and that works)

    Anyway, steps for 9/15 = 10,399 & 20 min yoga

@KellyBgetsfit It is so frustrating when that happens... hang in there...

It's chilly here this morning, made my 1st walk this morning very quick, because of course I didn't bring a sweater or jacket...

    Have a great day !

I am so frustrated with the scale. I weighed in on Fri. I had a big loss, but I worked hard and felt like I earned it (and the scale was the highest ever the week before). I got on it on Sun and it was down about a half pound from Fri.😃 I felt like I was finally getting it right with how many calories my body needs and hitting my macros. Mon and Tues I hit 14,000 steps. I packed my healthy lunch and snacks. Logged everything. Today, I am up 2 pounds from Sun. 🤦‍♀️ I dont understand what I am doing wrong. I am still feeding baby twice a day but its been that way for a month so I feel like hormones should have leveled. I am really frustrated. I don't know if I should keep doing what I'm doing or change something. I just feel so stuck for over 5 years with my weight. Nothing I do ever seems to change it.

Oh, and if your thinking stress, I am actually pretty happy about being back at work. I am working from home on Wed which is also awesome - I can throw in some laundry between virtual meetings.

It might be time to change something. I just took a look at your food diary - not that I am any kind of expert or dietitian - but just out of curiosity. I have couple of suggestions. The past couple of days you have improved your fibre intake, but you have not hit 25g at all, and last week, it was much lower. Increasing fibre will give you a weight boost at first because it absorbs a lot of water as it goes through, but that will settle out once you keep a consistently high amount in your daily diet. 25 grams. Every day - give it a try. An apple instead of a muffin at breakfast, berries, beans, lentils, all that good stuff. Maybe get rid of anything made from flour for a bit (tortillas, corn chips, muffins, pizza) and use those calories for those yummy fibre things  You may need to revise your calorie allowance? And always, more veggies. That is my mantra. More veggies. You can stuff yourself and still stay inside that dreaded calorie allowance. You can make big one skillet meals to make it easy. Or big salads. Or both! I'll post some recipes on the recipe thread that you might enjoy.

Hey Team! I think I'm finally getting the hang of planning ahead for food throughout the day so I don't feel hungry and learning what the correct portion sizes of my regular go-to recipes should be so that I don't bust through my calorie goal.

Look at you! You sure have gotten the hang of planning ahead! Be careful this coming week, now. After such a big loss, a bounce back or extra hunger might happen. Your body might be freaking out a bit - so if you get super hungry, plan those healthy snacks and maybe reduce your calorie deficit a bit. WTG!

I love the money version of all the healthy habits. If that gets people going, well - why not? It is certainly chilly this morning here too, and all the past few mornings. I have to finish putting the veggie garden to bed before it gets too unpleasant to dig around in it. Time to plant the green manure cover crops too! Mr. Shovel, here I come.

Been doing the BRAT diet thing to try and ease my pain and it sort of worked. Someone online told me that adding a little cinnamon to applesauce and warming it up just a touch is great for stomach pain and it works SO well I thought I'd share. It's apparently a trick from Ayurveda.

I have a Very Petty Complaint: my wrists and fingers are thinner again. Soon my watch and rings will just fall off. But my waist will still be huge. :<

Completely forgot I signed up for a virtual 5K - It starts this weekend and I have till the 27th to do it, I think I will go do it Saturday morning while hubby is doing yard work.. Does anyone know a good app I can use that will record the time and distance, and allow me to screen shot it so I can send that in to the race people ? Thanks

Hey @Gidgitgoescrazy I have a friend who uses Strava as the app to design, track and share his runs. Check it out!

What a day! I have basil fatigue, post blanching stress disorder, vegetable washing finger prune syndrome, and a tired back from digging up the garden beds I emptied today. Still some more to do, but getting there. The cover crop is partly planted, too. Next big job is green tomato chutney or relish. There are always green tomatoes, but those will have to wait a couple of days.

I hope you have all had a lovely Wednesday, and that our 2 Thursday folks are all ready to weigh in tomorrow -

    Hi everyone!

I can't remember the last time I posted! The days are running together but I read everything here.

Transitioning back to work is going well for the most part and things are getting figured out. One of my new high school students is 19 and I had him as a 2 or 3 year old my very first year as an occupational therapist. I could instantly spot him ha! Makes me feel like I'm getting older. We finally started interviewing for our open position so that is great.

I have been having a pretty easy time staying in my calories. Today and yesterday have been my rest days. Tomorrow I need to get up early and do my ballet beautiful workout. I'm on track for a loss tomorrow and I hope I don't have any surprises tomorrow morning.

Life has been going well and my husband and kids are really happy doing homeschool. That warms my heart and is a huge weight off my shoulders. I just have one class to finish and I get my pay raise. I decided to just stay part time. Our budget looks good and there aren't any vacations or shopping really. We hardly eat out anymore either. The only restaurant near us is Thai and you can only eat so much thai food. Mostly because I blow my calorie budget, so yummy 😋

@jugar 17 minutes of Pilates for 9/15. Nothing for today.
I am doing Pilates too :) I'm doing the challenge that was posted on here and also do some Zoom classes, I think they are really good for posture and strength! I love it

@spyro88 So glad you are also doing it. I love Robin and think her workouts are so good. I missed today, but will take care of it tomorrow.

@KellyBgetsfit Hang in there. Often we have big fluctuations during the week. But, changing something like fiber could help get you on the right track. I need to do that as well.

@Gidgitgoescrazy Go girl go! You’re like that lady in a glass booth with money flying all around grabbing it all. Good for you!

Wew, @jugar you make me tired just reading your post. You are one busy lady. Can’t wait to see photos of that new room too. ~~If we, Americans, are ever allowed to cross that border again, we plan to pay Canada a visit. It would be fun to see you. But, at the rate we’re going, it could be another year. Doing our research. 😃

Lots of jumping and hide & seek here today. My Fitbit died so not sure where my steps were before that happened. Expecting big rains tomorrow and Friday because of Hurricane Sally. Good to hear from everyone. What great losses too. 🤗

@micki48 Yes Robin is great isn't she and I find her really approachable and 'real', I like how she says to just work at your own level, sometimes I find fitness videos a bit intimidating when I can't do certain moves but she is really reassuring.

Today I'm working a half day, then going to the gym, then packing my bags for the weekend away for my dad's 60th. It's gonna be really special so I'm not going to be counting calories too carefully, but I'm going to try not to go crazy. Alcohol is my biggest risk as I do like a drink!

It's all about slow and steady for me and working this into my lifestyle, rather than trying to lose a load of weight quickly. And my lifestyle will always include the odd trip away when I will indulge a bit! :)

    Have a good one everyone!

Hello all! I have been awol and not logging. Stress continues with work and home care for dad. I checked the scale last week and 'scared' myself into behaving better and spent the weekend whipping up 4 soups - didn't log them to measure how much per cup but soup is always a good option (@micki48, Thai Tom yum soup is great! I don't make it, although I know you can buy a jar of the base and it's easy to make). So I made a cabbage soup I'd never made before -has pork and sauerkraut in it, a thick german onion soup, a delicate cauliflower soup and finally a chicken noodle soup (although I don't add the noodles until serving - and I picked up some red lentil noodles and chick pea noodles for my bowl). Soup bagged up and in the freezer. Also found some great canned german soup at Aldi - very reasonable calories per cup and the ingredient list looks good, cheap and a good back up for the pantry.
The change in the weather is heavenly although I am now in batten down the hatches mode - we're in an old house in some disrepair - prepping to bring in my houseplants too- an all day affair. @jugar sounds like you had a good garden season and a good day taking care of all those to do's...I feel like we were all just talking about putting our gardens IN! I'm still picking sungold tomatoes but that's all.
@Gidgitgoescrazy , ahh 'vanity', you say vanity but it's really whatever makes YOU feel good that matters so go your own pace. My two hairdressers who are my inspiration, and prompted my epiphany that I could lose weight without exercise, also looked so aged after their 100 lb each loss. I think when I see them now a couple years later, I don't notice it at all. I probably look older too, much to my older sister's delight, and I've added not coloring my hair to the mix - For me, I'm in a mood where I just don't give a damn, I feel good! You know, you'd inspired me earlier in the year to get out on my kayak - and I still have not done it, grrrr....maybe I still have time.
I think I'm back on track now for eating...and not drinking. Someone here mentioned snacking on pickles and I picked some up at Aldi and I like them, thanks for the tip!

It's funny you both mentioned fiber because I had oatmeal yesterday for that reason! I don't know. Thanks for the feedback. I will consider that when I am meal prepping this weekend.

I can't remember if I mentioned this or not, I am having stomach issues. It has been rumbling for a few weeks. I regularly eat Greek yogurt and my protein shake has probiotics, but I'm wondering if I shoudl try a supplement. Someone else mentioned apple cider vinegar to me, but I don't know if I can stomach that one.

I have been up since 4:30 with Mabel. No workout and less then 6 hours of sleep.

Yesterday stayed indoors so did not get a workout. Did go to the mall and walked around indoors w/grandsons. Air quality should be better today but not much. DS is up in northern Calif fighting fires.
Garden is totally out of control. @jugar you inspire me!

We're ordering lunch next Monday/Tuesday because we're being audited (my life is audits now) and it's going to be lots of exhausting work.

And I'm trying really hard not to stress about it but we're ordering from the pub next door and there's just no way to get low calorie things.

I might have to just suck up two days near maintenance. :(

@conleywoods I imagine your days are blending into each other as busy as you are. How cool that you are once again teaching a former student. It is so fun to see them as they grow. I have a few students that I still keep in touch with. Once of my first second graders is now in her 10th year of teaching! Talk about feeling old!!! LOL Glad to hear things are going well with the family. Hope the smoke is clearing.

@eggfreak Hi <<waves hand excitedly>>!! So glad to have you pop in. It must be so crazy getting back in the swing of things after so much time at home these past months. Chilly enough to have to bring those plants in already? Wow! We had a couple cooler days, but with this hurricane passing through the air is like pea soup with humidity. Speaking of soup, your soups sounds great. Hang in there! I'm glad you are feeling back on track. Check in when you can. Wow! What a fabulous loss! Go girl!

@KellyBgetsfit Oh poor Kelly. I sure hope little Miss Mabel decides to sleep better tonight so mommy can get some rest. That is one of the hardest parts of being a mom--sleep deprivation. Hope it gets better and sure hope that your stomach trouble eases us soon. I wonder if now is the right time to add extra fiber. I don't know. Hang in there. You'll figure it out sooner or later. <<hugs>>

@Gidgitgoescrazy You are the exercise queen too. You are so dedicated and really you kick a&&. I'm so impressed. Get those $$

@offitgoes Good for you getting some steps in any safe way you can. Hope your DS is doing well in the terrible fires. From someone with family in Northern California, I thank him for his work from the bottom of my heart.

@Terytha I have total confidence that you can handle to ordered in lunches and still keep it under control. You are awesome and have so much commitment to your health. Good luck with the audit and don't forget to do some real good stretching and breathing to release that tension. Hope it's over soon.

Well, we have had rain, Rain, RAIN today. So much coming down, but at least we weren't saturated from previous rains. It should be fine. This Sally has some serious humidity though. I had my windows open for our two cool days. My house feels wet, so the windows are closed again so my air can dry it out.

I am so glad I forced myself to get in that double pilates workout in (only 27 minutes). I feel better for having given my body that. I'm tired and ready for it to be Friday. And I don't even work outside the home. Take care all and wishing good scale numbers to our loads of Friday Weigh ins! Till tomorrow...bye!

Small loss but it works! I haven't logged my food yet today but I am not worried. I have been doing well with calories. I didn't get up and workout this morning. I need to get kids in bed and figure out a workout. It's my weekend and working out will be a lot easier over the next 3 days!

Lots of good chat! I just fired up the big wood stove for the first time this season - the smaller kitchen stove is the heat goddess, but tonight we need the heat god. I always forget how bad it smells the first time we light it each year, though. No matter how thoroughly I think I have vacuumed it, the smell of burning dust is horrible. Even though it is a lot of work, I still love the feel of wood heat. It is now officially fall in our house!

Good work on the workouts, people! Even if you have lunge fatigue or had a hard time getting to it, once you're there, it sure feels great. OK, sometimes your legs just don't wanna, but afterwards, you are a hero! Well done. I enjoyed today's Pilates session, especially after all the shovel work yesterday and today. Now an exercise bike session to finish the day.

Believe it or not, it is time for the Friday people to get ready! Here you go -

Very happy to have lost. It's always nice to see a new low on the scale. Congrats to all the others who have too - it's looking like a really good week for us!! :)

Hopefully I can keep it off and not mess things up over my weekend away. My dad's birthday cake was delivered last night and it looks soooooo good.

I don't think I'll get chance to be very active here until Tuesday now so I hope you all have a good few days!

    Friday weigh in

Very happy to have lost most of last week's gain but still struggling. More bad days then good and poor food choices :/ oh I wish salad was as appealing to me as a biscuit but I don't think that will ever happen :s

I know what you mean, I can have a whole fridge full of healthy prepped food and still reach for the 'bad' stuff first, but I also find that often, when I START eating my salad or soup, I really enjoy it. hang in there!
