@Pearl4686 Congrats on your C25K week 8 success! I started that program last year, but stopped around this time last year at Week 6. But I joined a running club on Tuesday - I'm not gonna lie, I struggled, but the coaches were fab, and everyone was so supportive. I was advised to do a couple of run/walks before our next session, so this morning I went out. I just put my headphones on and walked one track, run one track, repeat. It was tough, but I'm glad I did it. 2km done. I'm going to do the same thing in the forest on Sunday.
Happy Friday, Friends!4 -

I'm bummed because Monday it was in the 140s and that would have exciting. I have been getting my workouts in this week, so there may be some water retention. 🤷♀️ I am pretty proud of my consistency, but I am worried my small losses the last two weeks will stop me from meeting my next goal by Thanksgiving. My plan was to reach this goal and then maintain for a month - I usually gain over the holidays so I thought maintaining would provide me some grace.5 -
@YinxFed the running club sounds awesome. I like your method of using music to break up your walking/running. I tend to do that on the elliptical and music can be so motivating 😊
@Terytha I may have to check out that band, sometimes silly/filthy/fun music is just what is needed. My favorite bands like that are Bloodhound Gang and Mindless Self Indulgence 😇
Yesterday was a bit rough at work, I have some clients that are really struggling and it can be emotionally draining. We also had a follow-up meeting on our audit and have more work to do in the next 2 weeks to try to finish it up. Very disappointing. And because it was my long day it was too late after to go to the gym and when I got home I just snuggled my pup and hubby while we watched some old Star Trek lol.
I ate a brownie at work, I managed to avoid it at lunch time but by the time 6pm hit I was not so resilient. So my calories were over. I will still have a deficit for the week though.
Today will be a better day, my client load is lighter, it's a shorter day, and I will likely go to the gym or take Lola for a walk, weather permitting.
I am also looking forward to tomorrow, a friend and I are going to a pumpkin farm, then out for dinner (I'm already scoping out the menu for healthy options!) And then we're going to a Halloween lights walk-through.6 -

Thank you. I still remember my first run. I could barely run 1 minute before I had to stop to catch my breath. Those first few weeks were absolute torture. Now it's still super hard work but doesn't get me so breathless. You're doing the right thing by taking small steps. Good luck on your journey! I hope you make it to 5K! I will be cheering you on.6 -
SO.... when you decide to sleep in cause it's sooooo nice, and think you will just do a really long walk at work in the morning since the boss doesn't work on fridays.. Make sure you check the weather.... Gosh I feel like such a dummy, it's raining, and it's going to rain ALL DAY ! ... But my facial got cancelled, so I have no plans, and I get off 2 hours early, so guess who will be making up her morning exercise, and her 2 work walks when she gets home from work....8

@jguldi11 & @jugar This is my favorite song from the new NSP album: https://youtu.be/FviZQGhfJyA
It's got a little cursing but is otherwise on the clean & silly side of their stuff.3 -
Friday Weigh-In

Annoyed but not surprised. Last weekend I went out on Saturday with friends and it included a big lunch and some beers. I tried to mitigate the damage Sunday, but then Monday woke up with a terribly upset stomach. I turned to the BRATT diet for dinner - had some rice and apples on hand, but then post-dinner I was pretty hungry and ended up on a binge with tortilla chips. Tues through yesterday were much more on the ball, but I figured the scale would be up from last Friday still.
Weekends are just so hard for me. I do a lot during the week and it's nice to be able to relax on a Saturday and just veg out, but when I do that, I always end up snacking and it just undoes my whole week of work in 1-2 days. What do you guys do to avoid weekend snacking/binges?? Frustrating.5 -

They are good! Singing in tune, good sound, flashy guitar - what more could you ask? Oh yeah, they are hilarious! Yesterday I saw four young men out on the hiking trail with a 3 year-old boy. They looked like the kind of guys you'd see out partying, but they were having a blast with that kid. I could just picture them firing this song up for the kid's bedtime.

No raincoat? Super hood? Rubber boots? Splashing around out in the rain can be lots of fun. As long as you're dressed for it4 -

I'm glad you liked it. Brian, the one who doesn't sing, has a 6 year old daughter and I'm guessing she probably listens to this before bed.2 -

You're only into the 150s by a tiny smidge! And don't forget, it's still a loss. I know how disheartening it can be when you see a number you really like on the scale, only to have it disappear when you calculate the week's average. Just remember, you're still green!5 -

Oh no! It's the mid-month slump for some.3

gahhhh....my eating has been bad. the temptations. If I know it's there, I'm not content until it's gone and no longer an option. I'm definitely in the camp of first step is just NOT to bring it in the house in the first place. Otherwise, it's so easy to pass right on by the healthy things I've prepped or stocked the fridge with.
BTW, loving the dill pickle snack options (but it still didn't beat the marble cake that is now gone).
Also, my weighing and logging has gone out the window for at least a month now...and yet MFP still reports that I've logged the last 28 days or whatever - I wonder if it's a way to get people to see more ads? Don't know, but it's a big lie, I won't take the credit.
Just finished up the last of the office work for the week and woo hoo it's on to the weekend. REASSESSMENT TIME - get moving and resume logging! I'll be working from home for the next three weeks - that takes extra preparation and maybe I'll spend part of this rainy Friday evening planning and prelogging my week - hah! maybe a little lame for a friday night but hey, it's covid time, I'm over 50, content with a warm cosy house, no wine still but I'll live, and I can go to bed early which I love.
Hey Rhonda!, @evangsimmons170, you hanging in there okay? You and a few others on here have a LOT of juggling to do, hope all's well.3 -
@eggfreak
Ah, Sylvia - the siren songs are getting us these days, eh? Pickles help, but sadly there are many things they just can't possibly out-sing. And those days logged? It does not mean that you logged your food or exercise. It just means you logged onto MFP for any purpose at all. So take credit for those days - you were here even if you weren't logging! Stay warm and cozy, and we'll get cracking on those plans. I'm finding the increased indoor time is not easy to manage. Sigh. As you say, we have a lot to be grateful for.
So! update on the end of week 2 weigh-ins. I know you have all just been waiting for this to appear!
Remaining Friday weigh-ins due:
@evangsimmons170
@BaileyCat88 (missing you!)
@Steph1498
@gracermom and @joijumper - last chance! You have not weighed in since joining, and we hope you'll still find us. If not, you will be dropped from the team.
Heads up for Saturday:
@Gidgitgoescrazy
@Terytha
@Micki48
@lovethyneighbor
@spyro88
Hoping for news, stories, questions, and general chitchat along with the numbers2 -
Today everything got away from me -- food and time. I got to the gym this morning and we got our winter tires on our vehicles. But after that I didn't get anything else on my list accomplished. By evening I was so frustrated that my snack resistance was non-existent! So all my chores will still be there tomorrow and I need to get my eating back on track...5

Woop! A decent loss and I feel like I worked hard for it this week. Nearly 3 months now since I started this journey and I'm really feeling some benefits.
I also just want to say, I love this group so much. I'm feeling very warmly towards you all despite this being just an online forum and not actually knowing any of you "in real life". I really love catching up on the chit chat and @Terytha that music vid was great, I am definitely gonna look more into that band!
It's really working to keep me motivated and upbeat and is succeeding where the real life groups I've been to have failed! I think there's something great about being able to come on here in our own time when we feel like it... not having to attend a slimming group at a set time after work or something when we're all tired and frankly can't be bothered!
So... yeah... just a big thanks to @jugar and @micki48 really and everyone here!
Quick update also, my partner's MRI scan went OK, but he was a little traumatised afterwards as he found it very dehumanising and that the staff didn't have a good bedside manner with him... so that was a bit sad yesterday. He's been in and out of hospital his whole life with a long term condition and he was getting really down about the whole thing So I've been trying to be super supportive. I think feeling good in myself physically is actually enabling me to be more present for him. There are so many benefits to this outside of the way we look - it affects our whole lives!
So, keep going everyone, and have a good weekend x7 -

I am a list person too (otherwise I feel listless? ). Lately I am becoming more and more satisfied if I cross even one or two things off my list - the days do just disappear and maybe it would be better to break lists down into long, mid & short term items or 'would like to do' and 'must do'.....nah, too many pieces of paper.
I'm finding too that I get through the day eating well and then....boom something snaps and I'm wolfing down poor choices. BACK ON TRACK - nice rainy day today - we've had such a drought, I'm happy for the good soaking.
@jugar, thanks for clearing up the mystery behind the logging thing - I presumed it meant logging food.2
