I worked out for the second time this week. I had to press pause 🤦♀️ That is not like me. Today is my one day for Fall Break (kids were off Wed and Thurs) I made the most of it by going to drive through pumpkin patch. It was pretty cool with tons of carved pumpkins, fancy scarecros, and decorated haybails. Then, we went up to the mountains and di some walking. It was a pretty good day.3

I had an interesting conversation with my massage therapist this morning. I have been having ongoing problems with my right shoulder and upper back. He asked me how I carried my purse and, surprise, it is always on my right side. He believes we as women are not helping ourselves by carrying purses that are too heavy and also by consistently carrying purses, book bags, gym bags, etc. on the same side and messing up the symmetry of our bodies. So he challenged me to consciously carry everything on my left side until I see him in two weeks. It sounds easy but I can tell you already it is harder than it seems it should be...3

@happimess01 and @Kali225 Great job on weigh ins for the week!
@KellyBgetsfit I have not been working out as often either and I notice that workouts are surprisingly difficult at times 😅 😳 🙃 Drive thru pumpkin patch sounds fun!
@Steph1419 I think tacos should be a part of every good weight loss program.
More later, gotta put my wild kids to bed!😴4 -
Good day gang! Just a quick run through - we had a crazy day today. Our artesian well was way way way overdue to be "shocked", and that happened today. So we have no water until late tomorrow or maybe Sunday - but at least the dreaded iron bacteria will be as gone as we can make it. It is the weirdest stuff - not harmful in the water, but it gradually reduces the capacity of the well, and it stains the shower and all other surfaces orange when it gets bad. So today was the day we say goodbye (for now) iron bacteria. We should do this more often so that it isn't such a big deal, but....
In any case, here we go! First of all, welcome to the goal zone @eggfreak ! Let me know what is your "zone". Lowest to highest where you want to maintain for now - revisions always possible! I find around a 5 pound zone works well, but others have different ideas.
Keep well everyone! Here are the day's reminders -

I also find that the arm we actively use on the computer (mouse or touch pad) has a huge effect on the shoulder...If you use your right hand for that kind of activity, and you spend much time on the computer (it does not take much), see if that has an effect as well.

No loss this week but at least it’s not a gain. I had such a bad start to the week and only really got back on track on Thursday, so I was sure I would see an increase. Feeling relieved 🙂6 -
Ok I committed myself to finding at least 5 healthy recipes for this week. So the first one has to be tacos. Right now we make ours with a seasoning packet and hamburger, cheese, salsa, avocados, and large tortillas. I usually eat too much and feel so full afterwards.
SO just now, I have looked up a few recipes for flavor intense and smaller tacos. Win win!!5 -

Expected! I've been on stomach meds. Also I went hard at the gym yesterday and I am sore today. It was a good time.
I also have good news and bad news.
The good news I don't need the pills because I don't have gastritis. The bad news I have gallstones, and nothing can be done about that.
But at least the pain is understandable.5 -

Saturday is flying by! I have to get out while the sun is still shining, and then we'll finish flushing out our water system later - it will be nice to have water again, but still might be tomorrow before we can really use it. The well will have to fill back up after we empty it to flush out all the evil no good stuff. Then it should all be wonderful again. Iron bacteria is weird stuff - it does not harm the health in any way, but it builds up to the point where it tastes bad and it reduces the capacity of the well. Good riddance I say. And I am also glad we still have our old outhouse! It adds 500 steps to my day every time I have to go over there
have a good one!5 -

I've been referred. I'll hear back in 4 to 6 months about possibly scheduling an appointment.
Because of Covid and because my case is 'uncomplicated' and not posing an actual threat to my life, I basically am in limbo indefinitely.7 -
Biggest news of the week is that I dyed my hair AND was brave enough to use it as my new avatar on MFP. I'm happy with how it turned out ❤️

Making a check on my tracker today for social contact. My two former colleagues and friends came by this morning. We couldn’t walk like we usually do because we are getting rain from Delta, but we chatted on my screen porch for two hours and it was wonderful!! I need to do more of that.
My week went pretty well and had a tiny loss. My steps were very good, hitting my 🎯 every day. Now making a grocery list for the week. I will ride my stationary bike or do Pilates later.
@jugar You work so hard. I take my water for granted. All I have to do is run it through a Brita filtering pitcher. And outhouse?! Wow. Haven’t used one of those since I was a kid visiting up in Maine.
Hope everyone is doing well.8 -
@Terytha I had gallstones and was having gallbladder attacks. They are terrible and mine felt pretty similar to being in labor. I had mine out in December and it was a super easy recovery. I was back to working out in 3 weeks. Lools like the medical system in Canada is super slow compared to the US so that's a bummer. Loosing a significant amount of weight can cause them and just being a woman puts you at an increased risk. If you get it out, you will be amazed at how much better you feel and the variety of foods you can eat again. If you have gallbladder attacks then the stones are plugging things up which means gross stuff is forming in there. They usually don't want that going on for very long. Hopefully they remove your 🤞5
