Good way to start the new year!
Welcome everyone! You will LOVE this group!
I need to log in the computer and read up on all the cool stuff y’all have been doing for Christmas through the New Year. We had taco night at my sisters tonight. So good. I ate a lot and enjoyed every bite. Back on track tomorrow. At least I did some exercising today to help offset it a tiny bit. 😊2 -
Hi,
I haven't done much at all today. Ended up with a pre period migraine which is not as bad as some people get, but still a bummer 😕 No workout today and all my plans for the day got canceled. Feeling like I am turning the corner and hopefully it will stick. I need to do some planning and get ready to head back to work on Monday.
My hardest goal is balancing my macros consistently. I really struggle to eat enough protein and tend to get carb heavy.3 -

@conleywoods I just played around with my macros too. I am not one to go extremely low carb, but I lowered my carbs a little, and upped my fat and protein. I think I did 40% Carb, 35% Fat, 25% Protein. We will see how that works. I find it hard to get all my protein too so this should be interesting. Like you, I usually get my carbs and fat real easy. Just thought I'd mix things up a bit and see what happens. Can't imagine having those carbs at 30%.
Hope you feel better.

Good Morning , and Happy New year !
We had a great time, it was alot of fun... My friend gave me a crown on New years, so I have decided that this year I will be a queen, and I will rule over my issues like a queen should... LOL = I am accepting the new job, although it scares me to death, but my friend is right, do I keep the easy job where I am online shopping all day, or do I take the new job where I will challenge myself, and accomplish something meaningful... part of me is very worried I will fail, but I have to get over that and just try... Anyway, that has really been ruling my life for the past week, I tend to overthink everything...
Welcome to all the new members, I've been here for a while, and this really is an awesome group !
My starting weight for Jan will be 164.4
Thats really high, like a 6lb gain in Dec, I was 161 on Thursday morning, so I think atleast half of that will come off in no time... But I can assure you this, 164.4 Will be my HIGHEST weight this year...
Okay we are off to do a 2 mile walk\jog with the puppers this morning, we watched some videos on running style and proper stretching, so we will kinda watch each other run for a bit and see if we can spot any issues.. We also decided to go to an actual running store and get fitted for the correct shoe, instead of guessing... I guess we will be actual runners by the time this year ends....
I also took my before photos for the year, it will be fun to see the changes, cause this year, it seems there will be lots and lots of changes !
Have a great day, I'll see you in the Jan thread !

Week 5/starting weight for January

I am EXACTLY where I was this time last year. I’m going to say maintenance (even though that wasn’t what I thought I was trying to do) is a win during this crazy pandemic year. It’s still a 10% loss of weight since I started in 2019.
I am also proclaiming this is the highest weight I will be in 2021. Yesterday was a perfect log day and I exercised. My diary told me in 5 weeks I will be in the 170s!😂 I don’t think every day will be like yesterday, but lower will be good. I finished logging and realized I was still under 1,000 calories, so I gave some real thought to a healthy protein rich not awful carb food. Greek yogurt did the trick. I was proud of myself. 🙂
Get those steps in by tomorrow—then it’s off to the January thread and introductions.
Make it a great day! 🌞5 -

OK @micki48
What was your original starting weight? I could guess based on your 10%, but it is good if everyone could give their original weight and then we can party more when those milestones happen!
And yes, maintaining during 2020 is considered a win!1 -

@micki48 how very true. It is all about choice and I'm currently not making good choices. I find it hard to get back 'in the zone' where I'm really good with logging etc and sometimes can do well for awhile just eyeballing and going with my gut. But it tends to come back to bite me so I think it might be time to start logging again for awhile to get things moving again. I'm talking the talk, can I walk the walk?3

@Pearl4686 I KNOW you can walk the walk. I've seen you. You are right. It takes some work to get your head back in the game. You are also right, that although we are pretty darn good at eyeballing it, it does tend to slide a bit after a while. I find that doing a little "research" reading some stuff from the blog, looking over your own data, etc. helps to get you on the right track. It is by no means fullproof, as this whole past year, I kept thinking I was ready to lose, but I was not. I hope I am now. I feel that new year spark. Look for your spark. Do the things you can do. For now, as much as it's a drag, go for logging EVERYTHING for one day. Don't even worry about if you are under. Just log. Then move (I know you do). Then do it again the next day. Sometimes, we don't want to do what we know is good for us. I believe you can do this. You will get there.1 -
